Firstly, a wonderful prosperous GONG XI FA CAI to all Chinese ethnic group community who may be reading this post.

Sebenarnye lepas nak commemorate coming XPDC show opening for Search ngan kongsi bootleg live the 'Ali/Yan/Pa'e/Edrie Hashim' lineup under the moniker of XPDC satu masa dahulu,
Aku ingat aku nak commemorate Judas Priest coming soon pulak.. Tapi takde mood. So lets talk about something else.
OK, we're going to have a new Iron Maiden live album and dvd. EN VIVO!!.

So what did I do? I dig out the audio audience bootleg for the Chile Santiago April 10 2011 from my collection and listen to it again. A very good audience recording. I think there may be more than one source of tape recorded by fans, but I am happy with this one.
A wonderful show..

Singapore show is being mentioned in this show, and the TOILET ROLLS? Is that toilet rolls incident I hope will remain in the DVD. haha.
And I just hope..EN VIVO audio will not be interferred the way the official Rock In Rio 2001 was interferred for the live release. I really so much prefer the audience than Bruce.... I am sorry but I just like the way it happen that night.
Yes, a brilliant release, but I was got problems listening to Wickerman, and especially Brave New World songs on the official release and I prefer the Brazillian TV/Radio original broadcast.
And how I love the in between songs of the bass and guitars which you can hear if you maximise the sound LOL.
How I wish Bruce speech about " Britney Spears and being cool " is inside the official release..
and even the photo taking snippets with Ross Halfin near the end of the show.

And please dont me get started on the official DVD release with the body cam and guitar changes :-)
But still this is my own personal of view.

We all read how some Argentina fans may be dissapointed of them not appearing on the new DVD as promised the night of the show. But life is like that.

Dont we all remember the first time Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force came to Singapore? Dougie White was repeating and repeating the whole night how they are recording for a live album, and the audience need to be louder.
How left right front and back, everyone was contributing to I Am A Viking, Dreaming, You Dont Remember, etc but waiting and waiting, alas...no live CD.

Sort of like " KENA BUBBLE!! " big time.

ooo before I forget, if you guys have seen the official Video tape or laser disc of Live In Donington 1992 or even hear the cd, you guys are aware of Adrian Smith appearance ( the first time SIX member line up ever perform and who would have thought that it is now the best and most popular Maiden line up ever ) but its like not so absorbing , sort of like glance-thru.
but this audience video recording is ABSORBING.
THIS IS ADRIAN SMITH recorded by the audience performing Running Free with Maiden.

This video is so wonderful moment of Adrian being welcomed by especially Janick and Dave Murray. Who would have thought what will happen in seven years time.

I am also like revisiting the bootlegs of 1995 X Factour.. Been listening to Paris 16 November 1995 and how I can visualise the audience really was cheering for " the new " Maiden then and how they are celebrating Blaze arrival and wanting him to do well.

How many of the new songs were greeted with so much love and they know it well.
I mean, ok I am a Maiden fan just like many of you readers, so we all can feel it when hearing or observing how others feel or respond to Maiden songs.

The songs played is similar to the London show as the backcover of the Brixton bootleg.

The band was playing all out, and fantastic performance. I think 1995 X Factour is a brilliant tour with great songs setlist. Steve Harris has his solo spot for Blood On The Worlds Hands etc..
Blaze sounds really good on X Factor songs, and many of Bruce songs anyway.
And I think FORTUNE OF WAR Paris 1995 is the best of the best song for me.

And the most surprising ( I choose the most careful word I can think of ) version of Fortune Of War? I will choose the Scotland Glasgow 1995 show.
That is available on a beautiful factory pressed Eternal Flame cd bootleg. I will talk about it next time with the packaging too or have I story about it before?
An incomplete radio broadcast that one.

Oooo And Tel Aviv Israel show with Blaze was also about 10 songs radio broadcast in that country but I think there was never a full radio broadcast or soundboard of any XFactour.
It would be nice to have a soundboard full recording of XFactour, or there is? and I am not aware.

And Maiden should release Gothenburg 1995 show in full some day... It should have been an official cd release...

Pelan2 aku ada time, aku contribute some humble personal recordings of Malay Rock Bands performing thru the years. Memandangkan Rock Melayu memang kurang sangat archives begini. Sekarang dah ok sikit,
tapi yet still... I dont know of any COMPLETE start to finish audio bootlegs of the event of the year Search 30 tahun outside of the JB show which I did.

It would be nice kalo dalam satu konsert yang dihadiri kata 10-20,000 gitu kita ada multiple source of different tapers, then boleh pilih satu dua yang terbaik untuk share bands yang kita minat. Tapi well, whom am I kidding?

This is from my youtube upload info " 6 Ogos 2005, XPDC antara band yang beraksi dalam Konsert Rock Gerek kat Fort Canning Park ( Bukit Larangan ). Dorang main dalam lebih kurang 50 minit.
Ini kira macam festival siang ke malam ngan Wings headlining dan antara persembahan Wings paling giler babi punye gerek aku pernah tengok, mungkin kerana aura main tepi kubur. Band lain termasuk Metalasia ( bawak lagu Trooper ), Yantzen, Amuk ( dorang duet Ikrar Perwira ), dan band2 lain yang main dari siang hari.
XPDC malam tu ialah Ali, Yan Lefthanded, Pa'e dan Edrie Hashim. Dimana Izo takde. Tak dijelaskan kenapa dia diganti Edrie tapi masa onstage, Ali cakap " Rokiah Rok tak dapat datang, ada masalah paspot, income tax dia belum clear "
A fantastic show, and I hope this bootleg gives an idea how good Ali, Yan and Pa'e sounds live. "

Aku always suspicious dan tak minat sangat tengok vcd2 band rock melayu, tengok2 gitu je sikit2, aku lagi suka pegi tengok sendiri band tu, atau masuk youtube dan tengok rakaman2 henpon peminat, pasal walaupun audio, video hancur, tapi lagi boleh kasi aku gambaran lebih jelas dan lagi aku enjoy.

Anyway, back to the title of this post. I love it Ali with his " GEREK SEY!!! " " LINCAH!!!! ", etc etc..
and I love to hear Yan on this recording.

Its actually for my own listening pleasure and consumption, but then I think its not that bad to share.
Try to find a way to make it louder yourself :-)

Amacam korang? Tiga benda nak cerita.

There are some nice front covers in the past week on the LIFE section of the Straits Times ( the Singapore one not the Malaysian NST one ).

I really like this one.. the female singer FEIST with the Iron Maiden headline and I guess its not far off as according to the article she is working with Mastodon. Yep she's coming..

But this one I guess is definitely one of the most popular show of the year in Singapore and Malaysia...and I immediately think of our dear friend Cat's Eye ( mata kucing ). Sorry I snap quickly with my handphone so I miss all the long articles to celebrate the return of Foo Fighters to Singapore since their show here in 1996 or something.

It would be nice to see the young people having fun haha. Seems for the Singapore show at Padang, the tickets will be released 20,000 first but we all know Padang is huge so I guess it can sustain 50,000 max and ticket price is at $138 and foo fighter had announced it will be a 3hr show.
KAA RO LAI NA!! CAROLINE!!!!! huhuhu.. Not a huge fan, but especially love their poppy songs and their rendition of Stairway To Heaven :-)

AND TO THINK LAST TIME in the 90s, I ONLY READ ABOUT FOO FIGHTERS IN BIG O MAGAZINES!! Now they are HUGE!!.

Lastly, been listening to this bootleg. Y & T. Some of you, will find this familiar, once upon a time..not so long ago.

A very nice audience bootleg recording, 2009 in Holland before the bassist pass away. Yep..got that all glorious 'dont be a afraid of the dark' in there also .

Bola - oh f*%k, Singapore is back in the Malayian Football League although the team is a quick mix and match group of mostly youngsters, and hopefully Malaysia Cup too. I think 7 February Bukit Jalil is Selangor lawan Singapore.
THAT!! is a game I want to go and see if possible. LRT, siap sedia untuk kasi penumpang semua naik tak payah bayar tiket due to the human crush haha.

Lion XI lawan Kedah next game Alor Star, Sundram beb, Hero Kedah back in the old days balik dia punye old team hijau kuning, tapi ni time sebagai coach LionXI. Giler ah this year nye musim.

hah, so burger prosperity dan fries rompol2.

So tu hari aku baca post Ijau, 220km tu get this burger. Tu dinamakan Passion.
Aku? ok bila kat rumah Spore, ada satu Macdonald seberang jalan, ada lagu satu Mcdonald jalan kaki 5 minit kiri, ada lagi satu 5 minit jalan kaki sebelah kanan.
Tiga mekdi within about 500meter from home, satu tu 24jam every single day.
Memang mekdi heaven la, sahur bulan puasa pun mekdi.
Tapi rumah KL hah, takde mekdi walking distance. Hopefully soon. haha. dan hopefully 24hrs, boring ah malam2 lepak mamaks je. ( hah, sila ke blog wan beruas for his super mamaks point of view haha ).

Tapi prosperity burger ni memang macam makin slack je. This year nye tak sedap la pada aku. Tapi, lantak je la , aku memang dah kebulur dah smalam nak masuk keja.

Apa aku ingat pasal Prosperity Burger tahun2 lepas sejak diperkenalkan bila eh? dah lama la kan jugak kan?

- Kalau Singapore jual beef, Malaysia jual chicken, dan lepas dua minggu gitu, dorang swap, satu negara jual chicken lagi satu beef.
So for yang criss cross tu, memang enjoy la melantak.
- Fries, aku paling bingit kalo ada tempat for whatever reason, mungkin stok abis ke hapa ke la, Curly fries takde.
Tak la sebest normal mekdi fries, tapi ok la sekali2...
- Air, sejak menjak dulu, suka nah dorang matching ngan air oren, tak reti aku, tapi selera chinese new year kot.

This is how the 2011 Iron Maiden greeting card for Christmas and ( fearsome )new year wishes looks like.
Seems there is a significant in the design?
Or just a play on the compilation release of From Fear To Eternity? as from the back of the card grid info.
Or is it a hint on the next history tour?

the grid lines, the tiny looking maps and scenarios, ooo my eyes is feeling pain.

I am not surprised if they skip Maiden England set tour and do a tour with a mix of Maiden England + Live In Doningon 92 setlist + Blaze years or continue to include songs from the 6 man line up since 2000 as I think Maiden newer songs from last 4 albums had been awesomely spectacular.

But with 2012 Japan dates anticipated due to the Tsunami cancellations last year ( and I really hope KL will be slotted in too ) and its crazy to think what are their choices for the songs played.
- More Final Frontier type shows? or the above FFTE style or just a very short Japan / North American tour.
And next history tour is 2013 or even a new album tour?
I for one, would want to see a Maiden England tour. Please.. I want to see the ICE!! I want to see the white.. And I want to hear Infinite Dreams live myself.

I just finish reading the book by the tour manager for two of the best rock bands in the world besides Maiden,
A Harts Life, which I hope to review next year haha, and this article makes as good a reading, by a gentleman who works currently with the Maiden Production team, and his story since the 60s about Toni Iommi and Jethro Tull and even early Guns N Roses and Slash makes good reading and informative.

and he says there is nobody on this planet like Bruce Dickinson.
Ah.... imagine if Bruce had sung with Rainbow...ahhh...ahh.....

Steve Harris answer fans questions this issue, and he mentions about one place he wants to play is China.
I was listening to Clansman ( the real unedited original Brazillian Radio broadcast?? Rock In Rio 2001 recording ) and I was like thinking if the Chinese authorities will allow the song Clansman to be approved ).

And I think these guys got the best jobs in the world haha, but after reading A Hart's Life, but I doubt Maiden is like the man in black haha.

The interviews section with people who loves Maiden is interesting.
Its seems the Mastodon drummer is a hugeeeeee fan of Maiden.

Nicko, I hope one day we have a full dvd of cameras just focussing on Nicko for the whole show, I think the ex Dream Theater Mike Portnoy got one for the Live in Budokan or something.
The Nicko's Rhythm Of The Beast dvd got a short footage of what I am trying to say and I really love it. I remember and article, like an octopus.

The fans segment is as usual makes happy reading..

there is one about a young lady from Manchester catching her first Maiden show with her father
and this one is about the son and mom going on travels to see Maiden.
and I have to agree about what they have to say about the budget and spending of money and why its worth it to travel.

spend a short while dropping by the mrt station around evening Maghrib time here and took the opportunity snapping some photos as it gradually gets darker.
makin gelap, makin gelap, then malam.. sememangnye dah memang hari mendung pun, skarang kan musim hujan.

I really like the ship on top..the swimming pool on that roof is I think is definitely one of the most craziest swimming pool I had ever seen, I mean in photos , I have not been on top yet. haha.

Marina Bay Sands , makes even more nicer and popular with the photo of Iron Maiden's Adrian Smith looking out of his hotel window towards the bay in the On Board Flight 666 book.
Been inside there once, to go to the spectacular Arts and Science Museum which you can see is actually the white structure shaped like an open palm of the hand? or a lotus? bunga teratai?? I dont know. High end place but very nice and I guess a few things to do. It really has a lot to offer beside the casino.

I got friends working part=time jobs for the F1 race for about 3 days and its good money to earn to help the pocket haha.
But if Maiden or some other bands I like play the F1 Padang show, then of course thats different. Its very balanced, with Linkin Park and Mariah Carey.. etc

so maybe we should get Maiden + Pet Shop Boys? now that would be heaven. Both great British establishments haha.

I always love the opportunity to be there when the feeding session is on and I can be on the same level with the Giraffes heads/faces.
Muka zirafah ni kalo korang tengok , ngan telinga dorang semua, memang cantik.. makhluk yang sangat cantik, aku tak bedek kalo korang tengok muka dorang betul2. Ngan mulut non-stop nak kunyah daun... rasa cam pelempang pun ada haha.

Giraffes can sleep only 20 minutes a day..

and their tongues are definitely longer than Gene Simmons.
And speaking of KISS, I had just erased Crazy Crazy Nights from my mp3 player. Been listening to that most days. I think Monsters will be great... I hope.

AND opposite of the Giraffes enclosure,

paradise lost - draconian times MMXI deluxe edition opinion

" Is there any rock music fan who listen to the Draconian Times album in full and never like it? ".
I think this is a very entertaining and interesting , exciting yet parts gloomy parts depressing Heavy Rock/metal album, and I like it so..
Furthermore, the cd that I bought back then has additional bonus tracks that include Sisters Of Mercy's Walk Away cover.
So after 16 years later, it finally dawn on me that.. Draconian Times actually really officially stops at track no 12 Jaded hohohoho.

Few months back, there was never ever more envy and jealousy in my heart than those people in Europe who got to see these special shows where Paradise Lost plays this full album.
FORTUNATELY!! The rest of us in the ass/rest of the world, get this releases on dvds/cds/lps.

So I bought the so-called limited edition deluxe draconian times mmxi which includes these.

So this is my review of the DRACONAN TMES MMXI

Firstly, The dvds..
ooo its nice, seems this Forum, London place is nice, and its fully packed. How I wish I was there, there are some bands that I wish to see , Cinderella, Ross The Boss ( ok, I would settle for the current Manowar ), the Swedish metal band Lost Horizon if they ever continue, and of course PL.

Anyway, only change of drummer, the rest are remains from the original album of course. The current live drums is so exciting on this MMXI version, when I plug the rip-cd-mp3s deep in my ears loudly haha.
Simple stage, flags of Switzerland? Poland? in the crowd, also the camera changes are not so fast so nice viewing, except for the rotating camera very occasionaly. I think its fashionable? I dont know but my eyes hurt haha.

If you like Paradise Lost music, you will like this live dvd of the band plus the keyboards player. I mean songs like Shades Of God, LIVE!!
The fans really enjoy it and those movements in the crowd is so nice to see.
Once Solemn etc, those faster songs really had the hairs all flying helicopter haha.

The dvd disc 1 has the full complete show that night, and additional stage banters then the accompanying cd which I will say later.

THe dvd second disc has a very nice documentary On The Draconian Road which I read somewhere is recorded by the bassist.
Lots of rehearsals close ups, And that is so nice... you see them rehearsing in bits. But lots of footage, the documentary is about 26 mins.
Then of course they on the aeroplane ( seating economy , no star treatment ), fetching their own bags, eating, drinking, etc
And nice backstage footage, changing room, and nice from the back view them playing live.
If you like Paradise Lost, then you will like this la.

Then there is another chapter full of interviews with the band, the prdoucer, the manager.

Then there is another chapter of interview with fans, who travelled from all over the world? to their shows. Very nice, those devoted fans.
Got this fan using the term - drac times when talking. Ooo now I know something I didnt know before.

Then you got two promo videos of their latest studio album.. the simple video of just using lightings from different angles but its so depressing - Faith Divides Us Death Unites Us and also the macrabre Rise Of Denial.

Now the cd, as I rip it to mp3 to occupy my ears while walking / taking public tansport so its the most that I am expose to ,

If you think Draconian Times is good, the MMXI live version is so much more awesome at least to me.
Enchantment with additional piano intro.
Shadow Kings really tranform, and the audience backing the song on parts before the guitar solo is a highlight
I really love the guitar solo of Jaded. I really really love it haha.
Shades Of God of course, my favourite slow song here, and my favourite song from the original studio cd, I See Your Face hehehe.

32 page booklet, of the magazine reviews/articles/interviews of the period in the mid 90s from all over Europe.

Its in many European languages... Seems the non English ones look informative,
the English ones you have old articles on Draconian Times from Terrorizer, Metal Hammer, etc etc..

I think thats it...

I love the Draconian Times album, and more than a dozen years later to have the MMXI live versions on cd and dvd is magnificient and makes me happy.

Bila buku ni diumumkan akan dicetak selain bahasa Jepun berapa bulan lepas, aku terus pre-order. Jarang la aku akan beli buku untuk diri aku sendiri, kecuali buku berkait Iron Maiden atau komik strip Get Fuzzy, tapi ni memang special.
Rata2 boleh sebut buku ni adalah antara buku terbaik tentang keluarga besar Deep Purple dan Rainbow dan yang related ngan dorang.

Dan korang pun tahu Deep Purple dan Rainbow nye talian dan kaitan ngan banyak band2 rock dan performers lain. So penulisan buku ni sampai Joe Satriani/Steve Morse punye Deep Purple era pun si penulis ni masih ada sebelum dia bersara.
Penulis buku ni tour manager Deep Purple dan Rainbow selama 30 tahun, so sua terang ni bukan buku yang tulisan dipetik dari keratan majalah2 lama dan ciplak dari tempat lain atau yang ditulis sambil nak ambik hati mana2 pihak.

Buku ni delay memang lama, ada masalah nak buat kotak slip-case tu kat kilang..
Sampai aku ingat aku dah kena bubble.

So semalam buku ni sampai.... hurray. A review will come by me, maybe not this year, but next year, hahaha. ( Stupid joke ).

Hope you guys have a few sample of the songs.. Rozana... has a bit of shoutings at the beginning due to an umbrella blocking the view of those nearer the back.. luckily the 'mat payung' get wise and close it and spent time in the slight drizzle just like the rest of us. The intermission cracking sounds at the start of the fans tribute segment was actually me going thru the platic carrier which contains the goodie pack.
Other songs are fantastic, Amy Search stage banters is very entertaining.. his school days, younger days, the minah stories, and his acapella of Setelah Hujan is so touching especially in the rain. Other 'rarer' songs like Serigala Segalanya, Metropolitan, even Bisa, Mentari Merah or even Kejora was played amazingly.
In fact the whole show is, I got lucky to bootleg it, so here it is...to be shared freely as I really dont like to see people well.... I mean... dont fucking make money out of the bands you love illegally.

ooo look what Mr Postman delivered to the letter box yesterday....

Semalam kira " all the planets aligned ".
Konsert Search paling best pada aku ( yang mana aku pergi la, terang2 kalo kat Penang, Sabah Sarawak tu smua aku tak pegi la ), sejak reunion Amy+Kid+Din+Nasir dan guna drummer Lola zaman Evolusi tahun2 2004 dulu gitu sampai skarang ngan macam2 line-up.
Dari setlist, performance, sound, lighting, sampai ngan hujan lebat sebelum Search main, ngan padang bola Larkin dah jadi wading pool ngan hujan turun renyai2 masa show, memang amazing la kira.

Ni baru lagu je tau . Anyway, Search on stage nearly 3hrs long.

Intro
So masa beli tiket, the lady from Oracle Accord was like vouching ni show akan jadi best, dan memang dari siang dah nampak la professional dan duit keluar banyak la untuk ni show dari luar lagik, dah pasang macam2 barrier, booth ticket lagik, proper security area lagik, ramai staff etc. Tapi it all still depends on Search dan aku memang tak mengharapkan sangat la, asyik harap tapi selalu kecewa. Tapi support tetap support ngan pegi, dan keluar duit beli tiket.

So dari petang, JB + Singapore hujan lebat.. Aku kul 8 kat terminal Larkin lagik relak. So jalan kaki je gi stadium Larkin, kul 8.40 masuk. Security tight tapi macam aku cakap dah banyak duit kot keluar untuk organising ni show jadi memang smooth dan professional.
OK, dapat goodie bag dalam ada tshirt per, kacang dua bungkus per, dan salute abis la, ponco per.
Kul 8.45 masuk ikut granstand area nye bawah tu, ooo aku dissorientated, pasal stage buat kat lagi satu gol post, bukan macam show2 Search lain kat Larkin yang buat kat gol post lagi satu. Paham eh apa aku cakap.

Banjir giler padang, so ada cam lawak2 kat stage, so aku tengok sekeliling patut la budak2 tak bleh masuk... pasal..... sapa belum pegi nanti pegi la tengok sendiri. Anyway, amoi2 semalam semua pakai.... amboi..
then ada panggil dua back-up singers Search berbual2 sikit atas pentas, then hah-ko kul 9 terus Search mulakan persembahan.
Macam aku cakap kat lady Oracle tu " mesti ramai Star Karat ni malam ", dan memang, aku pun sebenarnye malas nak masuk awal pasal aku ingat ada band lain lagi nak main opening show, tapi aku masuk je la, so aku tak miss starting, tapi aku confirm semalam Search start main kul 9 malam genap, ramai masih " malingering " kat luar haha.

Macam gini lah dari belakang. Yet, it end up a memorable one.

OK review show...
Pasal aku dah tengok Search Penang nye setlist, aku cam not so eager la, sorry ah pada aku Diari Habil dan Qabil, ermmm...hehe....tak se"ermmm" Isabella, tapi aku harap sangat Search rombak setlist.
Review Ulasan konsert Search Fenomena 30 Tahun Search Stadium Larkin Johor Bahru 3 Disember 2011 in point form.

ok, macam biasa pegi tengok band rock melayu, aku ingat2 lupa judul lagu, so aku harap aku tak screw up.

1) Intro muzik and terus masuk a short drum solo.
2) Panggung Khayalan. So I was like liking the stage and the lightings. With huge screens on both sides showing Search members close-up on stage and another one at the center behind Yazid alternates between live footage and video clips related to the song. Amy pakai baju coat stylo mylo my chemical romance gitu.
Bila lagu abis je aku cakap dalam hati, harap2 sound cam gini sampai end of show....
3) Gothik Malam Edan. Again....and again....the same old new song. I observe the crowd seems to like this song so much.
Aku dah excited ni, sound konsert aku suka, lantak la apa orang lain cakap, aku suka sound persembahan dari kat mana aku berdiri tengah2 lopak dan kaki berendam ngan air hujan.
4) Some keyboards dan atmospheric music, so aku like fikir apa lagu siak?
Fenomena siak... So aku dah excited, setlist dah rombak ni, mesti banyak lagi lagu best nak keluar ni malam.
Lagu Amy dah tak yah nyanyi, dah jadi macam choir dah penonton. Super performance and SOUND pada aku la. Korang dah boleh agak la salah satu sebab kenapa selalu aku hampa tengok Search kan?
5) Amy speech, dia cakap pasal hujan etc.
6) Musnah. Very nice live song. Ooo ooo ooo oohh.
7) Metropolitan. METROPOLITAN siak. wooo wooo woo happy giler aku haha. unsangkarable.
8) Amy speech lagi, dia cakap happy kat kampung, start tanya sapa kat crowd " orang bakar batu, orang kampung pasir, orang kampung melayu, orang mersing " etc.
So dia start borak2 pasal kampung dia. Haha.
Terus dia cakap Johor ialah City Of Rock N Roll.
9) Melayar Bahtera. ooo play any song from kaset Karisma, and I will be very happy. Sampai lagu ni aku masih teruja ngan performance dan sound Search so aku was like happy giler la pasal aku tak miss ni show walau hujan lebat.
10) Then...stage gelap dan atmospheric sound...
Apasal sound macam wolf howling je...? Biar betik siot... Could it be? Could it be?
Serigala Segalanya. Ohh my goodness!! Speechless siak aku ngan pilihan lagu dorang ni malam. Korang harap2 la ada full complete live TRIPLE CD official release show semalam.
11) Amy cakap lagi, jamming kat kompleks tun razak etc, pasal peminat baru etc, siap ada orang pengsan lagik caught on the live screen.
12) Next song intro as sebuah lagu negara ku. Balada Pemuzik Jalanan. Momentum maintain siak all these while, aku suka sangat pacing konsert ni, pasal aku tak boring. Laju aje...
13) Then Amy berbual pasal 1989, sebuah lagu negara ku versi ballad, dia cakap pasal dorang kejutkan semua bangsa, Indians, Chinese, dan lagu ni dah jadi lagu Jawa, lagu Boyan etc. What else? Isabella. Ok, dua benda aku nak cakap pasal lagu ni , bagusss main lagu ni awal2...cepat2 kasi clear haha, dan I like Kid on this song huhu. Audience nyanyi first verse by themselves, in fact they sung most of the song, ni lagu aku suka tengok gelagat peminat yang suka giler kat lagu ni. ok,Next song please...
14) Melastik Ke Bintang. Niceeeeee....
15) Amy introduce next song dari Double Trouble, tahun 1992, pasal rambut, dia cakap ni lagu very political sikit. So we get Cakap Memang Murah of course.
16) Intermission
Search leaves the stage and ada keluar macam satu video clip kat screen interview ngan peminat2 Search yang dorang interview kat jalanan gitu. Menghiburkan dan ada yang kelakar giler. Lawak siak.. Ada part dorang suruh peminat2 ni nyanyi lagu Isabella tau, kira satu peminat nyanyi satu line, ada satu brader tu dah sedap2 penuh perasaan terus " Siang jadi malam.....". Fun giler ni presentation. Tak tahu lak youtube ada tak ni video clip. By this time hujan turun renyai2 jugak..
17) Then Search muncul semula.
Ok, ni lagu ada mat payung dah bukak payung... pasal hujan dah renyai2, kan ponco dah kasi, tapi ada dah bukak payung...
So next song Rozana ni kalo korang dengar bootleg aku nanti ada la pekikan2 suruh tutup ( dan buang!) payung. Tapi kejap je, payung tu pun ditutup haha,...
Rozana, amy cakap ni Rozana ni pasal seorang minah nama Rozana dia jumpa kat Orchard Road zaman 80an tu. Ni dia cerita bila dia kena inteview kat suratkhabar melayu Singapore dulu.
18) Bisa. Pheeewiittt..
Then lepas lagu ni each member Search hadiahkan cenderamata kat audience. Bola. Nordin sua tendang lambung style golkeeper haha. Search thanks the promoters and organisers etc.
19) Meniti Titian Usang is next. What more can I ask for tonite right? sound malam ni aku suka la...semua pun best la.
20) Amy cakap pasal lepas hujan ada rahmat.
And he starts to sing acapella lagu Setelah Hujan ngan audience.
Best giler ni part. Just Amy Search + Audience. Dah la diri dalam banjir dah la hujan renyai2.
21) Kejora is next. Sappppp... Berapa lagu dorang nak main ni malam sey? All night long pun takpe.
22) Next... lawak giler.. Amy cerita pasal dia kat kompleks tun razak , dia cerita pasal minah minah, sekolah datok jaafar, dia cakap pasal orang Johor etc, minah jambu, tackle la gitu, berkenalan, ajak pegi funfair semua dia cerita. Hilarious abis la.
So terus dorang main Gadis Ku. Macam biasa lagu ni ribut ngan backing vocals ribu2 orang. I think last nite easily 7000? 8000? or much more? tu pun hujan lebat tau dan padang bola dah jadi wading pool.
23) Amy cakap ni malam dorang rakam, so lets hope ada full dvd and triple cd. Nak kat tiga jam wooo total.

24) Next song... Langit Dan Bumi. Langit dan bumi dok. happening abis la. Great song after great song played. All out rocking siak Search ni malam. I like it so much. Ni lagu version paling best la.
25) Band Introduction dan backing singers dan keyboard player.
Yazid diperkenalkan sebagai kaki pukul berasal Kampung Pasir. Nasir dari Mersing. Ada peminat panggil Din Mayat, Amy cakap dia panggil Yazid pukul yang sebut Din Mayat nanti baru tahu haha. Amy introduce Kid and Din sebagai kalo takde, tak menjadi, dorang ni dia punye chemistry on stage. Berasal dari Kampung Melayu. Kampung Bakar Batu lak, dia cerita pasal asal usul pheewiittt belakang pokok jambu, Suhaimi Abdul Rahman.
26) Menara Kesesatan. Serious berbual, bila nak game ni malam nye show.... Pukul abis ah Search ngan seleksi lagu2 dan persembahan yang superb ni malam.
27) ok tarik nafas tarik nafas pasal dari tadi song after song semua gerekkk sey.
Giliran Kid guitar solo then Din guitar solo then together solo.
28) Terus masuk lagu Mentari Merah Di Ufuk Timur. Amazing, I like.
29) Seterusnya, Pelesit Kota. Betul2 nye enjoy.
30) Pawana. Another enjoyable moment and great performance by Search.
31) Amy final speech pasal impian dorang dan thank you's kat audience dan organiser and they play Fantasia Bulan Madu. Siap ada intro yang macam kat kaset MMDUT zaman korang muda2 dulu tu. Elok lak lagu ni ada pompuan backing vocal.
After the song, Search members semua lempar2 distribute drum sticks kat audience etc...

aku dah jeans kena lumpur, selipar kena lumpur, jalan laju2 ah balik terminal larkin kejar bas masuk balik Singapore, nasib baik ada nombor 170 hidup lagi malam2 gitu, MRT tak yah bimbang semalam MRT 24 hours gitu, pasal ada Singapore Marathon..
ok la..thats about it... I really enjoy the show. Kudos to the organisers, brilliant professional job even in bad weather.

naik BMW - Bus, Mass Rapid Transportation ( trains ), Walk

Aku ialah pengguna pengangkutan awam.
Tiap2 hari, aku konfem akan naik public transport kat Singapore, atau Kuala Lumpur, atau Johor Bahru atau kadang2 tu dalam sehari, tiga tiga tempat ni aku naik either bas awam or train or both dan of course campur jalan kaki dari bus stop/mrt,lrt stop ke destinasi.

Jadi...nak share.. two things.
Ni kad terbaru rapidkl. Bernama Rapidpass or myrapid or something...

Aku pakai kad ni, dia macam ezlink card Singapore, kalo nak abis korang top-up suka hati korang. Dulu aku pakai kad warna hijau yang store-valued 20RM tu. Dah takde dah kad tu...
Pintu gate masuk keluar stesen2 LRT ni semua tengah upgrading aku tengok..Yang gantry lama semua macam dah nak pupus je.
Serious berbual kad ni cantik, dan ni adalah good news... upgrading sistem tiket untuk pengguna RapidKL , dan jugak skarang untuk single trip ticket user pun, dah guna sistem token..stylo gila sistem token LRT Kuala Lumpur ni.

20/02/2012 bukit larangan - judas priest FAREWELL world tour

After 30 over years, finally Judas Priest ( without KK Downing ) has included South East Asia on their travels and its labelled as the Epitaph FAREWELL.

The only Asia show outside of Japan. Early bird ticket went on sale yesterday.

Unlike Maiden who played at the Singapore Indoor Stadium which can easily fit in over 12,000, Judas Priest will be playing open air at the Bukit Larangan Forbidden Hills of lush sloping green fields of Fort Canning Park which is about max 7000 plus plus I think.

Worse, to have Lamb Of God which I think is very popular among music listeners as openers, so I got a bit KANCHONG about the tickets availability..

Furthermore, as the tickets are free standing, no staggering of ticket prices which dictates where you stand ( or sit ) near or far so I think there wont much stressful thinking on the deepness of fans pocket, its a straightforward GO or NO GO.

Me GO OR me NO GO - I dont know, its three months away...

But, I try to go... seems its the only time to ever see Rob Halford & Glen Tipton & Ian Hil performed some of their Judas Priest Style Heavy Metal for the one and only time...

Collect the tickets this morning..

Fuck, it would have been nice to have KK Downing, and the beautiful alternate solos of Derita Bangsa aka Sentinel and Rock Hard Ride Free, but the Steve Harris daughter guitar player isnt he? the new guy.

Saw Lauren Harris band opening for Maiden in 2008, and I was like reminded of Zakk Wylde of the new Judas Priest guitar player. If its the same one rite?
So whatever..

Onward we catapult, we're thrusting to the hilt!

Lagi seminggu Johor Bahru akan jadi ROCK N ROLL CITY lagi sekali!! huhu...

I hope to be at Larkin Stadium JB this 3rd December 2011. Lets really hope Search does a great show in their "coming home" 30th anniversary gig.
I was like noticing the last week Penang 30th anniversary show setlist, ok la... not really 100% my taste, but ok la.. Lets hope they mix and swap a few songs more to my liking. ( Tak boleh cakap aku hampa ah tengok setlist 30th anniversary tapi kalo aku la boleh select setlist dorang , haha )

Two things..
1) This GME album...

I tell you all... Am I being a sucker or what...? I like this album.
But since the release, in 2006?
And seeing them with Hillary + Joe Wings, seeing them Hillary + Nordin, seeing them Kid + Nordin... at different locations
and I was frustrated it is always the song Gothik Malam Edan being performed and nothing else.
Am I getting it correct? Or I fall asleep standing at their shows?

I think there are a few good live songs here but always its GME only, yet I know Amy performed Irama Marakas as a solo performance? So why cant Search?

Maybe Search pernah main lagu lain yang kat album ni kat shows yang aku tak pergi, so its my lost haha.

I hope Search perform something else from this album, but or else, I will " suffer " again being a sucker.

2) All my life.... I never never hear and see PEMBAKAR PERASAAN live.
Malay rock music is so lacking in a proper archieves of live informations and bootlegs thru the years that it is so frustrating.
I have known Pembakar Perasaan was played live during Lola years at Penang? which of course I never go but by the time they played I think that time was Larkin also, the song was never in the setlist,
SO I dont know if its true...

Well.... I guess if I really go, I go with not much hope...

but who knows? these things might happen

Jadi tu hari ada internet news bilang satu orang ni bunuh diri pasal dia dah tak tahan lepas dia kena tinnitus lepas tengok band John Paul Jones/Dave Grohl nama Them Crooked Vultures ke hapa tu.
Betul kot berita ni, anyway, dah masuk tv dulu, ada satu apek local, lalui pembedahan untuk pekakkan telinga dia seluruhnya, pasal dah tak boleh buat apa. Apek tu sanggup untuk jadi pekak selamanya dari menanggung gangguan tinnitus ni.
Korang pun, sama ada pasal muzik atau kerja ( dan aku kadang2 tengok pekerja2 India/Bangla/China/Indon ) yang buat drill work/cutting work/ tak pakai hearing aid, aku pun sedih sangat pasal dorang takde sapa nak enforce, pasal memang kadang2 dorang ni ada yang memang ungkal.
ok lagi sekali, korang pun ada mesti pernah lalui pengalaman tinnitus atau yang serupa ngan ni dalam hidup korang kan?
Ni experience aku... ( switch omputeh lak ).

So, there I was , in my younger days ( aceh ceh ceh )..back in 12th December 1995, at World Trade Center Harbour Pavillion ( yes, those days when we mentioned Pavillion its at harbour front, nowadays Pavillion is synonym with Expo MRT station, where some of the bands that you all go and enjoy was Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force ( when first time they come )where Dougie White, another Rainbow alumni bluff the audience that they are doing a live recording, and make all of us to sing I AM A VIKING as loud as humanly possible haha, and of course Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer!Slayer! which I think is the band that makes me so most exhausted just seeing them play live. If anyone havent see Slayer, go the next time come, or you go to Soundwave nearby to see them on the bill,.. its like an experience.

And there is also the gossipy article of Metallica being accused of putting Theraphy? between them in Donington many years ago just because of worrying the audience is tired haha. Even in heavy rock music, you can find lots of gossip.
But I think not true, Iron Maiden have Slayer to open their London dates in 2000/2001 so I think its just gossip, or its really true. I mean, Lulu is not a gossip, Lulu is true hahahaha.

Anyway back to the topic of this blog,
It was Black Sabbath.. not fronted by Ozzy, not Ronnie James Dio, not Ian Gillan, but Toni Martin from the Forbidden/Headless Cross/Tyr period.
I was somewhere at front, directly facing and lower a bit than those huge monster speakers.
It was impressive and unforgettable, whenever Toni Iommi come to the side I was standing with his Children of The Grave riffs etc, with Bobby Rondinelli a Rainbow alumni, ( Cozy Powell just left before the Asian tour ), so its sad that I never get to see the late great Cozy Powell ( another Rainbow alumni ) in action live even once. The rest of the band are some musicians with names we often read in those hard rock magazines and cassette inlets at that time - Neil Murray/Geof Nichols.

Its like yesterday, I was like in awe when Toni Iommi I remember was playing this little keyboards set up for him quickly on stage for the song Changes.
I think, that was the time that teach me, whenever I go see a band play especially those western bands, which until now makes me aware and look for out whats happening and what could happen next when a band stops playing a while or the lights on stage all blacked out, a good example is the Maiden's final frontier gig in Singapore when I had avoid hard rock music internet websites for a few days just so I wont know what is the setlist in Moscow, and when they stop a while and an accoustic guitar was being set up for Janick, it really interest me cause I got to feel excited and amuse and my brains try to work out about whats coming up next. Similar to the 2008 Perth show which was was also the 2nd date and I had restraint myself from sufing the internet so I wont know what is the Mumbai setlist, and an accoustic guitar suddenly was set up at Dave Murray's area.

ok, back to the that day..And they still had Paranoid ending with the Heaven And Hell loop , if you get what I mean.
And speaking of Paranoid, there very near me, was a handsome man, enjoying himself during that song, with his circle of friends/bodyguards?? who really looks like Amy Search, I never go up to him and talk la, but its him la, sorry for me, rock stars are rock stars when they come on stage, but if I see them off stage, at the shopping malls, or even selling vegetables ( and we know one of the greatest drummers jual sayur satu masa dahulu and as a kid I buy kelapa parut or whatever I forget from him ), they are just normal people who I guess wants to be left alone, and for me I have no heran if I dont take photo or shake hands with them, because I have love their music since I was young and always look up to them, when they are on stage - they are my heroes since young and now as a much older person as I like to see these bands live thru the years. Anyway, They ( I mean this Amy Search looking person and his friends/bodyguards?? all come very late after the show starts, I still remember, like it was yesterday.. There are some shows which are unforgettable, and basically this is one of them. Toni Iommi got this aura and if you are near to the front its magical if he comes to stand near front of you.

So lets hope, Black Sabbath with the original classic line up comes to Kuala Lumpur or Singapore in 2012 or beyond if they or me are still alive haha.. ( ok ok joke macam sial, I know ).
-We already got Forbidden line up ( excluding Cozy Powell, sigh ),
-we already got the late Ronnie James Dio/Geezer Butler/Vinnie Appice lineup under the Heaven and Hell moniker,
so lets hope for the Ozzy/Bill Wards line up, as this two persons is left for me to see. Ian Gillan - I never seen him with Sabbath but love the Sabbath bootlegs of his era, but with Purple I had seen Gillan, 4? 5? times. so its ok la. So is Glen Hughes, got one bootleg of him fronting Sabbath from Hammersmith that is so awesome sounding.

And I most love the intro of the Ozzy " live and loud " cd with Zakk Wylde, that very last song or something where Ozzy introduce the band as " Mr Toni Iommi, Mr Geezer Butler, Mr Bill Wards, Ozzy Osbourne, we got black sabbath back man! ".

ok, back to the tinnitus thingy
After the show, I was like lepaking outside and there is this horrible horrible undescribable sound in my ears which I dont know whether its tinnitus, or tin-tintinus, or asterixtus or obelixtus, I dont ever want to go thru it again..
The sound follows me for like till the next day.. It really is bothersome rabak punye.
Its so scary because I was like, ok, its one thing to go deaf, but for the sound to follow you...
That is why this man's suicide is horrible... Maybe there are medical ways to help, but it makes some people go crazy, or decide to completely medically go deaf just to make this thing go away, or worse case like this rock fan, kill himself.

So like Phua Chu Kang says before he kena sent for Speak Proper English Class by the gomen ( Government ) as students are answering exam scripts based on his character on tv - " dont pray pray ".

out of topik kejap - Apa jadi siak semalam? Lepas show kawan aku sms cakap pagar semua roboh? haha... Biar betik. Untung ah kawan aku seems smalam show ada staggered pricing, dia ambik peasant tiket, tup2 cakap dia dah kat depan, !!siol!! mesti best...
Aku paling last tengok pagar roboh as in macam " war zone " ialah Search 2003? 2004? dulu zaman Lola kat Larkin, tu memang dah nampak cam besi buruk je la tinggal lepas show haha. And that is why, aku kalo boleh, takkan dan tak mau miss tengok Search kat JB walau aku get frustrated sometimes tengok Search live. Betul2 punye " homecoming show in front of their passionate home fans ".. last four? five shows? aku dah start tak miss every one, so I try not to miss their upcoming gig there.

Anyway crowd smalam, Korang baik2...hah...mau kang nanti dorang enforce rules regulations lagi ketat, nanti Judas Priest karang, duk bersila ramai2 macam dikir barat. MUAHAHAHAHA..

I will forever cannot remember how to differentiate different cats. Cheetahs, Leopards - these two especially, besides that Jaguars, Pumas, panthers etc etc etc.. but love them all..

First time managed to get a few angry fierce snarls from a leopard, so am quite happy haha. marahhhh sey dekni...

cam aku cakap tak bleh beza la terutama cheetah ngan leopard. Memang aku fail

cheetahs.. fast and furious siak...giler babi nye laju aku tengok dalam rencana national geographic.

The other cats, sorry they are not being photogenic and hide far away...so have to catch them other day

but this cats is around only I dont know how to take photos of these lions properly.
I wish one day I can borrow someone or anyone who have a 'dlsr camera' and use to take photos at the zoo.

thanks to caspera for informing the book for Kinokuniya KLCC Malaysia is RM129.90 and online checking for Kinokuniya Singapore the book cost S$75.
Mental Conversion rates and clearly Kinokuniya Malaysia is giving a super price compared to the Singapore one, so maybe you guys check it out and also check online prices from Europe/US too before ordering.

the summary pages on the final frontier 2010 and 2011 tours. Actually you can gauge the beauty of this book from this two pages already, so its really a good buy even if you dont like Iron Maiden and think they are crap but just want to see great music & entertainment theme photos of travels and fans worldwide having fun and the band itself off stage and in full action live. Its mostly happiness but also sadness and also the way of living in other places which is so different than us, whether better or worst.

l love those " off stage and on stage on the same day " photos in this book. There are a few of them. This is another one of Bruce wearing his shoes and moments later he is flying on stage.

as I like to take photos for fun, this book actually also teach me a lot of things.
So its ok to have slanted " senget " photos haha

Adrian Smith could be even bigger than Brad Pitt, handsome, great guitarist, songwriter and fantastic singer, fashionable trendy and all the making of a hollywood star, but he already has in Maiden fans mind.

final frontier tour section of 2011 using Ed Force One is extra nice because of Iron Maiden playing in South East Asia and makes us no need to travel much which cost alot of money of one two three years hard to earned savings , and needs lots of sacrifices.

and also playing in Singapore and Indonesia finally allow tens of thousands of fans to finally see them live and many of these have been fans for a long time since the early days,
and allow a lot of people to at last bring along their family members, love ones, friends, neighbours, mere aquaintance ( ok I am now exagerating ) to savour Maiden live and see whats the excitment is all about and share the happiness that Maiden brings to people's life, well, at least for myself thats how I feel.

Untung ah kerja kat airport changi dapat sambut2 cam gini cam braders kat atas ni, mau aku golek2 kat tarmac tu siak haha, tak pun mesti hapi siak kalo dapat jadi cleaner vacuum lantai ed force one atau lap2 kerusi buang habuk.
Kejap2 , aku tengah fikir
- selimut, sudu garfu ed force one semua simpan buat souvenir haha. Boleh? nanti tak dapat gi tengok Maiden, duk lock-up siak haha.

Singapore segment, you guys go and check out yourselves if your photos are inside haha. Like I say there are very nice photos of fans for the Singapore show , also the Jakarta show has a few Islamic / Muslim related photos which I will keep my comments to myself, and also Bali also has a lot of nice photos of the fans and the spectacular surrounding of the concert place.

So Marina Bay Sands, ok now I know how it looks like to be inside the rooms looking out at the Singapore skyline, I can only afford to look from far at this expensive place haha. Maybe one day I want to go to the roof-top la jalan-jalan.

Ooo and I was also here for this show. Tight security with some even have to surrender their belts and buckles. But funny I managed to catch lots of great Maiden action with my digital camera for this show. Ah, the luck of entering the arena using " First To The Barrier " contest haha.

and this also, I was here another intimate show before Maiden play Soundwave Festivals to 40-50 thousands, avoiding all the " raining beer" by the happy happy people around me haha. Lots of things happening I am not aware of the Janick with the bra situation on his guitar until I see the youtube.

and this one also, first time seeing Maiden in a headlining festival set-up, and.... I was also at the Koala Sanctuary. In fact, when I blog about visiting this place, someone replied on the blog post that Steve Harris was also there and I just miss him.
But really its a nice place, it even got a photo in this book. See..

like I say, even if you dont like Maiden, this book got lots to offer in term of what we are as humans. happiness and also sadness.
this is the description of the Japan Earthquake Tsunami and what was happening on Maiden's side before, during and after tragedy as they were about to land in Tokyo.

Without the descriptions and storyline and even timeline, we will not get the full picture of what is happening so its what makes this book so much superior.

the US Jet fighters and NASA Space Shuttle visits is also interesting.

Sepeminat-sepeminat Iron Maiden sekian, ( Fellow Maiden fans )

this photo book called On Board Flight 666 with photos and stories by official Maiden photographer John McMurtrie was out in UK on 20 Oct.
I pre-ordered in advance using Amazon UK and I got an attractive discount rate of 14.47pounds, and add shipping of 8.78pounds and I choose the basic Royal Mail. ( yang lain harga terkopak siak ).
I received the book on 27 Oct. I got a feeling Amazon UK posted my book before the official release which is great but to reach me this fast using basic postage is happiness to me.
So unless you Maiden freaks got money to spend, there is no need to choose the so much more expensive 'faster' shipping choice.
On the box, is indicated the weight as 1.75 kilogram. Berat siol.
Hardcover and Huge and about more than 250 pages of about 600 superfantasticmegaawesome photos printed on really quality paper.

So if you guys are waiting for this book to arrive at your local Kinokuniyas or kedai mamak, I dont know whats the cost. If you order online, do take note of the price I paid for the book itself and see if you can get an even better deal because on the book inside flap it list the book price as 25 pounds.

with foreward by Iron Maiden singer and the plane pilot itself Bruce Dickinson ( and its a bloody long few pages and fully informative and sometimes technical aspects about everything regarding the Ed Force One which is very deep but interesting )

and also an introduction from the official photographer and author of the book John McMurtrie.

These are some of the pages... So you guys got many different places of both on stage and off- stage photos.

and many other places are documented worldwide... the twickenham stadium is nice from the stage view.. and lots more, here are some of them..

also the "same day, but different timing" shots means we get to see Maiden members off stage and on stage. We see contrast photos of them jalan-jalan, reading or tying their shoes and the next photo is of the on stage at that same day.
I hope you get what I mean la.

a very tiny portion of the photos we have seen before, in fan club magazines etc, but very little only. Most of those in the book is never seen before.
this photo is very nice...

And on some cases, there are notes or stories that give a clear detail of whats the photos about or the situation behind it.
The serious problems in preparing the shows are very intriguing.

or even airport permit problems that wont allow Ed Force One to take off.

the 'national geographic' stuffs are very nice too...

especially the amazon river segment... I never seen photos or read info about the particular section of amazon river mentioned in this book before.

I wish there were more Dave Murray, in my opinion, Dave has seems like the least photos of him, but when he did appear, his photos in action are very nice..

The Japan Tsunami report of the situation inside Ed Force One and after landing and cancellation of the shows is sad but at same time it allows us fans to get a feel of whats its really like due to the photographer is with them to document it.

This will be on my next review..

So go out and buy it and make Iron Maiden members even the more richer, but fans will be satisfied to flip the book and ogle them haha.

Jadi ni ialah cerita2 yang terjadi.
Dikatakan dia katakan tahun depan confirm Jepun. JEPUN!! Maknanya...dah dekat maknanya busuk2 pun kalo tak datang Spore dan Indon, busuk2 pun KL dan Bangkok.
Tapi memang lagi afdal... Bangkok, KL, Singapore, Jakarta haha.

This is a review of what I saw and heard last night at Singapore's Fort Canning Park of Whitesnake Forevemore Tour 2011 concert.

Firstly, I just want to say Singapore got two surprise extra songs ( one and a half but if you want to count that very short Slow N Easy teaser we got three songs haha) , a short Lonely Days Lonely Nights as a birthday song and also Bad Boys after Burn. David Coverdale even remarked whether they still remember the song. I think this is the first time the song is played on this world tour that had played many parts of the world already.

Talk cock in Malay a bit.
-Datang ngan selipar, bawak beg sling standy baju extra haha, musim hujan la siak. Kalo nak bawak payung, siak payung aku jenis lipat kecik2 ada bunga2, lawak lak tengok Whitesnake pegang payung pompuan haha
- Dah jadi macam habit lak, sengaja datang lambat tak kuasa nak tengok band openers. Semalam, Band Indon, SLANK. Aku tak kesah la kalo konsert Inul kat Singapore promoter panggil Slank opening. Tapi ni Whitesnake! Semalam jumpa kawan aku pun cakap sama " Takde band rock Singapore ke nak panggil?? Malek ke? ". Aku sebenarnya dalam hati nak kumpulan Lovehunters. Get it? Lovehunters? ada paham? dari mana nama tu? haha. Anyway nak kena harapkan band Indonesia? Memalukan la.
Dah la last song Slank panggil dua pompuan Indonesia kat crowd naik stage, joget dangdut je aku tengok.

What I notice and interested enough to blog about it

- Doug Aldrich - The Dio guitarist for Killing The Dragon and a few other releases. So of course I like him as much as David Coverdale in the current whitesnake lineup.
He is like more high profile on stage compared to Reb Beach. Funny about him seating down for Forevermore and David Coverdale complaining the guitarist and drummer seating down like signing cheques or something like that.
Doug has more solos on the Forevermore album songs they played tonite.

Its interesting to see how they split the old Whitesnake / Deep Purple songs solos.

Bass player - At the song Burn I thought it was Glenn Hughes at the Budokan mid 70s like what we all see in Youtube haha.

The crowd ( and even its a Tuesday crowd are many ) knows the older famous songs so its great everytime there is the crowd singing participations and David Coverdale ask the crowd to sing certain parts of the songs.
Everytime David Coverdale ask to clap or havent ask to clap, many in crowd co-operate haha. Sporting crowd, and this why Fort Canning Park helps to promote a rocking environment rather than the boring seating down of watching a rock concert.

What is all that flying around? Fruit Bats?. I think they love Whitesnake/Deep Purple music too.

After Burn, David Coverdale says Thank You, but then the surprise thing is the band members were not assembling in front of the stage for their bow.
And the crowd was not moving away... when I think majority in this internet age knows Burn is the last song of this tour, Some cheers of We Want More! from the audience.

And they start to play another song.
HAPPINESS!! I thought I am not going to hear Bad Boys live. HAPPENING SONG!.

The way I look it, the band was on fire tonight. Must be the outdoor weather that they are not used to, and in fact its already cool as its rainy season. Or else it will be like what Andi Deris Helloween says at Fort Canning " Sweating like a pig! ". haha.

The New songs played last night are really nice... Forevermore gerek siak intro. Lain2 pun sedap.

The Outro tape is the song We Wish You Well and after that a big surprise to me - " Alway Look On The Bright Side Of Life ", which is also used by Iron Maiden. Very nice.

I see what I can do with the taping of the audio I did last night. Its all for my own satisfaction, but if its not too embarassing quality, I hope to share it.

p.s - First concert I attend for 2011, the 1st January Lovehunters show has Soldier Of Fortune being sung by Yazid, last night, which is maybe last concert for 2011 for me is also the same, but by the original singer haha.

David Coverdale memang ada dia punya tarikan yang buat ramai teruja.
So aku tak surprise ni malam untuk Singapore punye show ramai old timers turun tengok David Coverdale, Doug Aldrich and company perform lagu2 Whitesnake dan jugak zaman Deep Purple dia. I am going to love it. Especially looking at the just completed Japanese tour setlist they include Deeper The Love. ( the song that can compete with the ending of Wing's Sejati "kenangan itu!!", with the "never gonna let you go...in my heart I know...( fade ending ) ".

- Fort Canning, aku suka... berdiri atas rumput bawah cahaya bulan dan kalo hujan, basah kuyup la. Kalo tak mau diri, korang golek2 la atas rumput tu.
Harga tiket semua sama, (I always find in shows with staggered pricing tickets, you can find the more hardcore fans in the peasants seats faraway when they deserve to be right in front), so ulang lagi sekali - Harga tiket semua sama... aku suka... korang nak berebut depan atau lepak kat belakang, takde hal. Dan aku selalu baca kelebihan Castle Donington Park ( tempat lagenda Monsters Of Rock dan skarang Donwload Festival ), ialah sloping ground dia...satu tempat dari aku budak sekolah aku nak pegi, tapi rasanya tak boleh ah...kecuali aku tersandong harta karun, atau harta general yamashita.
Gitulah Fort Canning pun serupa.. sloping... best... walau korang diri atau golek2 kat mana pun..

alligator snapping turtle ni istimewa. Dia tak gerak, mulut terngangah, nanti kat lidah dia ada cam bentuk cacing menggeliat gitu. Ni umpan supaya ikan datang dekat terus abislah la ikan tu kena ngap. Korang letak jari, rasanya jari korang nanti kodong. Gitu la kuat kena ketap ngan mulut penyu ni. Ikan2 kat sini semua main jauh2 sey, dorang dah kenal sangat kot haha.

Like the signage says alligator snapping turtle is one of the largest freshwater turtles in the world with weights hitting 100kg. It can stay submerge for 40-50mins with a worm like structure tongue to lure fish. The jaws can snap off fingers so have to be careful.

In this video to see the worm like structure on the tongue is about 26 seconds and 56 seconds. The fish in the tank are very experienced. They keep away from the turtle.

4 things, aku sumbat semua senang..

1st,
Wishlist number one is the autobiography by Herman Rarebell,yes, there other latest and more popular books by and about Ozzy Osbourne and Dave Mustaine etc, but I am not really interested unless the library carries them then I will borrow.
But I think this one seems fantastic..this is the drummer of Scorpions best years to me, the person who help writes another piece of meat haha, and the way I read the 6 reviews at amazon.com by other readers make me very very keen on this one.

of course like all other true-blue loyal metal maniacs my second wishlist is LULU. HAHAHAHA. ACAH JE!!!
No, my second wishlist is the Paradise Lost Draconian Times MMXI DVD.
I know, they should have added the most happening Sister's Of Mercy Walk Away as its what appears as an extra track on some pressings of the original cd, but never mind we still get the first twelve songs, and the best songs from so remind me of Depeche Mode "One Second".
If, if only Depeche Mode do songs a bit similar to Paradise Lost " One Second ". That would be something.

I dont know, Iced Earth latest cd, is something that is ok for me if I never have the opportunity to listen to it at all but seems whoever buy the cd or whatever, I am not sure, will get access to download Iced Earth latest version of the Trooper.
As you all Iced Earthlings know, Alive In Athens had Iced Earth performing Trooper as a tease at the very very end of the triple cd version.
But this time Iced Earth with the new singer had covered an interesting version of Trooper.

Best memang best, tapi aku paling takut kalo kena 'shit on or piss on' ngan kelawar pasal dorang mmang kat atas kepala.
Lagi satu aku tengok kuku2 dorang, siot ah, kalo kena cakar abis la. Kalo kena gigit? boleh berlakon walking dead season 3 nanti haha. Siot je aku.

Pagi2 buta, (Madagascar) Lemurs tengah mandi sinar matahari sambil lompat energetik cammana kat dalam filem katun tu, beruang sloth aku carik2 mula2 tak jumpa, kelawar buah ( sorry la nama melayu aku tak tahu ) tengah cam biasa memekak. Burung si Red Dory tu memang cantik, of course lain2 haiwan dan burung pun ada kat dalam Fragile Forest ni... Tapi lets focus kat yang ni semua.

Kalo fikir balik, Allah tu maha berkuasa cipta semua ni.
Boleh makan berdamai dorang semua. Dah kenal kot so dah jadi members, saje je Fruit Bats ngan Sloth tu share makanan takde gaduh2. Betik! Jagung! Lobak!. Korang pernah kena maki " Serunding!!" tak? haha.
Korang kalo tengok video ni, tengok waktu 4.30 minit gitu si beruang sloth tu datang...ooo dia lepak tempat lain.

At last I have the opportunity to videotape ( something I have never done before with animals but now that we got a video camera so I can start doing things I love even more deeper, I got to videotape the 'umpan worm' inside the mouth of the alligator snapping turtle etc etc ) and the usual snap some photos during the feeding of the Lemurs, the sloths, the "i dont know what the name" black and white thingy, the beautiful birds including the Red Dories, the fruit bats and the best thing is they are all enjoying the fruits together.

Fan Club Magazine 90 - Iron Maiden

So Iron Maiden fan club magazine number 90 has arrived.

Another superb one and spectacularly informative (again). About 52 pages of full colour, quality paper of everything Maiden from text to photos.
A short review but this is a nice photo.

- The Interview with Rod Smallwood to summarise the Final Frontier World Tour is very interesting. From the cd release, winning a Grammy for El Dorado and how Maiden feel on winning a Grammy Award, and the number 1 success in many countries, to the preparations, to every part of the tour worldwide up to the end.

The South East Asia part and Rod mentioned about first time playing Singapore, and its 12,000 sold out and a fantastic audience. We all know this because its been said before in previous fan club magazines and the fc online pages reviews by the band members and crew.
On the other hand, I think not many people know the problems in Jakarta Indonesia until reading this interview about the inexperience and equipments to do big shows and how they decide to proceed just two days to the show. I dont know how it feels for Maiden fans over there if they really cant proceed with all the problems there.

- Dave Murray four pages of answering fans questions is very interesting, especially I think to those who are really into his guitars, gadgets and setups. I wish there are more questions and answers from his early days to present and his opinions but 4 pages is quite ok. Also questions on the three amigos writting a song together the 3 of them and a solo album.

- Few pages on John McMurtrie regarding his photo book..

- Interview with the guy who does stage design for Maiden... Very nice to read about other acts that I do enjoy being mentioned here that he worked with - Spandau Ballet, Big Country even Spice Girls.
Interesting to see about acts he got problems with too.
The paintings of the huge backdrops that we love which change song by song, and how its done makes interesting info. They are actually paintings huhu.

- The fans who travelled all over and took the fanclub trips and the Superfans column. Well all I can say after reading this segments is 'some guys got all the luck'.
- The lightning designer guy interview and again Jakarta is being mentioned as a stand out moment. Seems he say when they arrived it looked like a disaster blablabla.. very interesting to read that part and all the interview here if you're a Maiden fan or loves to read about this type of thing.

- A flashback of Maiden Magazine no 8 back from long ago.
- A Super super photo of Steve Harris on the back cover haha.
- As usual some other things inside the mag and of course some superb photos of Maiden on stage, close ups of the Maiden members individually in action and of course the giant Eddie spread all over the pages.

So conclusion I really love the fc mags once they switch to the A4 size now compared to last time, which made me feel not worth it. Now I think its really worth it for me to spend a bit on something I love.

With Maiden lying low except for the recent very strong rumours of them headlining the next Rock In Rio which will be in September 2013 ( as a dreamy fan , I think RIR will be the last Maiden show of the next History Tour of Maiden England DVD official release, similar to Brave New World Tour which we got the Rock In Rio dvd, and I got a feeling for fans in this part of the world, early 2013, Maiden will come to this part of the world for the Maiden England DVD History Tour or it could be earlier 2012 if they really want to compensate for missing the 2011 Japan Tsunami dates. ),
I revisit the music of some of my other fave rock bands, and surfing and reading up on these bands fans discussions in the internet. Not fans who enjoy the band just because its cool or trendy or the band suddenly become the flavour of the month, but real fans. Their discussions are so in-depth especially with some are in the inner circle of actually researching and contributing to releasing of the older very rare recordings etc.

One of them is DEEP PURPLE, and I have been recently enjoying some nice but 'not so clear' bootlegs of the Mk III lineup (I am writting from memory so dont know the Mk number is correct, but its when Coverdale first join in ) especially the shows where Ritchie Blackmore was already playing Still I'm Sad for his solos and maybe during that time he already had planned RAINBOW even without the other members realising.

Its hard to escape the fact that when we say we love Deep Purple, whatever the lineup is, the musical chair that links it to other fantastic bands and individuals will crop up. From Rainbow, Whitesnake, JLT, all the way to present Black County Communion.

Speaking of RAINBOW, I just read somewhere that Rainbow Rising Deluxe Edition which I bought and also blog about it many months back, actually received 10/10 from Terroriser magazine while Classic Rock only gives a 14/20 score.
But like we all know, many times ratings or praises or condemnation of someone else, will be opposite to what we think

Anyway, a blog post will look a bit better with some photos, so again , a very quick collection of what Deep Purple items I have that I found in the messy pigsty haha.

Some complete cds, some cds with no covers, some covers with no cds, some missing the back cover, I got to once and for all clear the sarang tikus ( rat nest ) haha.
The rest of my Deep Purple collection is I hope still recoverable.

Ooo... checking out the photo, you guys may notice what look like bootlegs..

Yes they are bootlegs but official ones. This is sort of similar to what Mike Portnoy did for those special Dream Theater live releases, studio rehearsals stuffs where the fans can get their hands on these sanctioned releases.
For Maiden fans, the idea is similar to the original version of Live In Donington. The 1993 ones with the black and white paper sleeve with no inner prints. The idea of re-releasing it as part of the remastered series with new cover Eddie and inlet is I think weird.

I have always love Deep Purple so I even got their official bootlegs and I remember it was originally in a boxset of six different shows from different years from the Perfect Strangers reunion up to about 2000 but I had thrown away everything leaving only the cds and the front/back cover. Like the cds said, Collectors Edition Bootleg Series 1984-2000.

I think I had seen Deep Purple 4 times? or more I cant recall, but I wished I had seen the Kings Of Dreams line up playing at Kallang Stadium.
Its one of those legendary shows where I can just listen to the stories of those who went. It would have been a great show to see, Ritchie Blackmore was so pissed off that he dont even want to play Smoke On The Water and ends up its Joe Lynn Turner who did everything.

Seeing Deep Purple, just even for one song, lets make it Highway Star and its a marvel. A sight for sore eyes. A ear pleasure too. Seeing them for 90 mins, its always enjoyable though of course I will be cursing they are not playing my favourite songs.

So like I say its always a musical chair, so I hope I can make it for Ular Putih.
To finally see the legendary one and only David Coverdale live ( its like when I finally saw Ronnie James Dio singing live, its like I guess how other people with different taste feel finally seeing Frank Sinatra or Pavarotti live in the old days ).

And speaking of Dio, like I say its a musical chair really, Whitesnake have Doug Aldrich..

I bought this debut cd from Silksutra, a Singapore rock band performing their own songs in the Malay language. In my opinion. Fantastic entertaining exciting heavy rock. So I want to write why I like it so.

Ikut prinsip "kalo kita tak sokong band rock Melayu baru -yang buat cd dengan lagu2 ori sendiri (yang lagu sedap2) dengan aku rasa mungkin segala cost pembikinan album dorang self-financed- dengan kita membeli cd dorang sapa lagi nak sokong", maka this is another one. And its a SUPERB one. Trust me.

SILKSUTRA - Akhirnya. Apa yang akhirnya tu aku tak tahu la.

So lepas beli aku rip terus 320quality dan pasang kat telinga dalam mrt pergi kerja. Suka giler aku. Heavy giler. So aku dengar dua kali round tempat bising, dan sekali ni dengar senyap sunyi. Bila dengar suasana sunyi, makin aku suka.

Tergamak Kau - Fast and heavy. Sedap lagu. The keyboards very menonjol. In out everywhere gitu.. Ingatkan aku kat berapa band rock yang aku suka cam Rainbow, Deep Purple, Lost Horizon huhu.
Mengapa Sukar - Slower song. Stay heavy.
Percaya - Ni yang aku wish ada liriks kat inlay dia. " ...perihal Pocong dan Bunian ". Did I hear right? wow. Lagu berunsur keteguhan iman gitu. I like.
Melissa - Hah, boleh buat Melissa Trilogy ler ngan Mercyful Fate & Helter Skelter weewits. Very nice song. Slow, but nice and rocking.
Bila Akhirnya - Lagu pasal derita, kehancuran, perbalahan gitu. Rancak.
Peristiwa - Ni lagu boleh celen lagu " Superman Tonite ". Sedap. Kalau filem2 Melayu hero heroin hensem cun happy2 gitu bila last part nak ending gitu hah sesuai main lagu ni.
Mungkir - Very nice intro.. dah part solo tu aku ingat aku dah teringat Toni Carey kat album Rainbow Rising sey. Backing vocals lagu ni ingatkan aku kat backing vocals Hail n Kill Manowar. Sama orang kot? haha.

So semua best. Suara sedap. Guitar solos. Rhythm section bass ngan drum gedebang gedebom bikin rhythmic havoc. Keyboards yang buat ni album so alive gitu. Kalau only radio stations give them a chance. Aku tak tahu, aku tak dengar radio haha. Tapi aku suka dengar pendapat brader2 kat muzika pasal giving these bands a chance for people to hear and hopefully support.

So kalo korang nak dengar band rock melayu yang baru2 yang best, menghiburkan, exciting, melodic, fast, loud, and HEAVY. Maybe this will suits your taste.

Aku beli ni ngan harga about 15 ketul. A great buy.

Kalo ada time, dan ada mood, aku merapek merhaban a few more cds ok. There are a lot more great Malay language rock bands putting out their own cds out there. So check them out.

This posting may make a lot of Maiden fans since those days who were gleefully savouring the cassette tape/vinyl of this album which first came out in 29 September 1986 feel really OLD. Cue song - Alphaville Forever Young haha.

Nevertheless, I also want to join in fans worldwide celebrate 25 years of a magical album that brings sunshine to my younger innocent uncorrupted school boy days. haha.

I still remember this was my first original EMI cassette tape I bought from saving every single coin I have by skipping canteen break at school. Unfortunately, the bloody original cassette do not have lyric sheets, so back then, the only way to get the lyrics sheet was to look for the Indonesian bootleg cassette tape under the label of Rockshot.

Firstly a super fantastic album cover, which is maybe the most detailed Derek Riggs work ever with a lot of hidden items you have to find all over the artworks. You can spend a long time going thru every thing and you will still miss out some hidden stuff.

His Run For Cover book includes the pencil sketches of how he wants the Somewhere In Time cover and also Eddie itself, which appears as a cyborg to look like for this album.

The Eddie Cyborg as Clint Eastwood Spaghetti Western role in a Star Wars Ep 4 New Hope niteclub scenario is one of my favourite Eddie ever. Maybe 2nd favourite right behind the Trooper Eddie.

The songs... and yesterday I transfer SIT into my mp3 player and I listen to it on the MRT on my way to work. I think people will find me crazy because I was like smilling and grinning away at the beauty of every song in this album. It has been so long since I listen to the studio version songs from the album in sequence.
Maximum hearing volume of 30/30 never feel this good. haha.
Ooo I rip it from the original pressing , not the pathetic remastered version of the late 90s. I still think the 90s remastered repacking old Maiden albums is still an embarassment. Though having the whole remastered set on the 25,000 only Eddie head skull box is still a neccessity haha. Fuck!, the day I start to become a Maiden fan as a little primary school boy is a curse moneywise haha.

Caught Somewhere In Time has a great intro and guitar solos, Wasted Years is easily one of the most romantic lyrics Adrian Smith had ever written, and the song itself is golden, Sea Of Madness and listening to the live bootlegs of this song from the SIT tour and I really like the way Bruce sing some parts of this song live, Heaven Can Wait, and I still remember finding an internet access in Perth just to check if we won the lucky draw to go onstage to sing the 'wooo wooo wooo' part and unfortunately no luck haha, I was like even trying to ready my better half on how to sing that part haha. Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner is simply unique with for me it has a bit Oriental feeling, dan bila aku jumpa orang yang rakam Belgrade Yugoslavia 1986 dimana lagu ni dimainkan sebelum kena drop, dan aku pergi tengok konsert Maiden ngan dia, dan tengok cammana dia punya pattern, memang aku respek giler. Betul2 legend tapi relaks santai je.
Stranger In A Strange Land, is a so lonely song again composed and lyrics by H, Deja- Vu and I know its not only me who went to look for a dictionary to find the meaning of this word. Lastly Alexander The Great... a historically facts-laden song with so difficult to pronounce legendary names and places that has a great instrumental break can bring moist to my eyes. If I can choose one song Maiden have to play live that they never did before, I will choose this over gems such as Judas Be My Guide, Run Silent Run Deep, Invaders, Thin Line Between..., Montsegur and even the spectacular Star'fuckin'blind, still for me the best song on Final Frontier one year later. But there was the youtube from the 2011 Greece show where Bruce seems to be hinting of a possible future performance of ATG? well at least he sing the chorus already haha.

Let me tell you, Alexander The Great is so influential then that even a group of girls performing the traditional BORIA dance in Singapore use the slow marching intro as their performance intro.

It would have been fantastic to see the band during SIT World Tour of 1986-87 with a beautiful stage

and a handsome and not so fearsome Walk On Eddie.

I saw the similar Eddie during 2008 and it really is so nice live.

The setlist was fantastic and they can still slot in songs like Phantom Of The Opera and Where Eagles Dare and they even fit in Rime Of Ancient Mariner, and we have Dave Murray and H doing an instrumental from a song by Nightwish Walking In The Air haha. Just joking, actually it was all taken from a children cartoon show song in the early 80s. The cartoon snowman was flying in the clouds etc.

It would be tragic if like reported, Maiden really do not have any professional video records of a full SIT show recorded. If anyone watch the videotape of Twelve Wasted Years, there was seems like Budokan Japan show if I still remember correct being shown a bit.
But still we have fan recorded Sheffield and Paris etc and thanks to youtube all of us can view them. I have no need to beg people for the fans collectors videotapes and dvdr anymore haha.
For myself, my favourite bootleg from that era are the ones from Bristol which I really like the fans recording. Bruce was very chatty that night haha. It makes me just want to backpack to Bristol to see The Carlston Hall he was talking about haha.

Or at least see Bruce wearing the "Hari Raya Lampu Kelap Kelip" decorative lights thingy on his body at the start of the show.

Besides the eight songs on the album, we have some amazing bsides from the two singles from this album. Sheriff of Huddersfield was hilarious, That Girl sounds ok, Juanita was a most fast and catchy song, but the champion bside is definitely Reach Out with H on lead vocals. Absolutely one of the most amusingly full-of-love Bside cover version by Maiden ever. I only managed to listen to this song in 1990 from the First Ten Years Series haha. Better late than never.

So I think I have summarise what I feel about Somewhere In Time 25 years later.
I really like it, but if I am going to be marooned on a desert island and I have to choose one Maiden studio album from that period, it will still be SSOASS.

I've got to keep going be strong
Must be so determined and push myself on...

p.s I always thought the West Ham 7 Arsenal 3 is just the most stupid impossible dream, but alas, a miserable 8-2 scoreline did happen. I prefer it being West Ham than Man U, at least it will make Steve Harris happy.

raya lepas, masa tengah raya kat Malaysia, so meriah join in borak2 kaum lelaki termasuk dengan yang tak kenal. Ada sekali aku join borak2, until aku realise dalam hati, 'eh, ni sua tengah bual benda2 agama sey', abis la aku otak jem kejap haha, ye la , bila campur masyarakat, kenalah pandai sesuaikan diri ye tak. Bahasa, perangai, kena tuning beb, nak2 topik gini.

Then aku perasan, eh satu brader ni muallaf la. Orang Penang. Masuk melayu.
So dia sebenarnye tengah highlight a few concerns of his sewaktu dia belajar agama Islam. Istimewa sangat bila aku tengok dia bersungguh2 nak tahu dan belajar tentang agama suci ni, supaya dia boleh menjadi seorang Islam yang lebih elok dan dapat mempraktiskan segala bentuk ibadah yang dia nak buat sebagai orang Islam. Aku cakap jugak kat dia pasal dia slalu kena turun Singapore, aku cakap kat dia senang gi Darul Arqam , Singapura punye Muslim converts nye building kat Geylang Serai Haig Road sana. Ye la, nak belajar agama, apa aku tahu kita kena banyakkan tempat2 dan guru2 agama. Jadi kita dapat variety of input yang kita boleh nilai dan tapis.

Coincidently, beberapa hari sebelum tu kat suratkhabar melayu Singapore sunday punye - Berita Minggu, ada artikel menarik tentang Muallaf ni.
Satu pompuan ni, dia siap kasi bible kat kawan Muslim dia. Dengan harapan supaya kawan dia dapat menerima agama dia la.
Kalo ada sesetengah kita mungkin melenting dan marah2 bila orang nak menceritakan tentang kelebihan agama mereka, tapi for this case, kawan dia aku rasa dia very calm and cool, dan sebaliknya menghadiahkan kembali terjemahan AlQuran kat pemberi bible tadi.
Tu la kuasa Allah, last2 benda tu jadi terbalik dan pompuan ni lak yang baca AlQuran tu dan at last hati dia terbuka terima agama Islam.

Lagi satu pasal this guy kat dalam, terpengaruh ngan rakan2 beragama Islam dia kat kat dalam dirikan solat dan akhirnya dia pun jadi Islam.
Part dia cerita pasal masuk masjid ngan badan dan muka penuh tattoo, aku rasa.. tak tahu cammana perasan dia dan budak2 lain kalo kena stare haha.
Tapi...Allah lagi mengetahui, who are we to judge kalo ada orang satu muka penuh tattoo ( nak nak kalo orang melayu ) masuk masjid sembahyang.

Pada aku, jangan la pasal kita ni yang dilahirkan kat dalam agama turun temurun, kita ingat kita dan bagus dan worse kalo kita merendahkan dan menghina mereka beragama lain.

Allah kalo nak terbalikkan hati, anytime. Tu kita kena ingat.

Dan aku, aku ada kawan, ada orang2 aku pernah tahu sepanjang hidup aku, baik lelaki baik pompuan...yang dari luar nampak pure decent homely type..
yang ubah dari agama Islam ke agama2 lain. For whatever reasons. Memang aku pun unsangkarable.
Aku stress ni, agama - agama lain. Bukan satu agama je.

Aku memang hancur la bab2 agama ni, tapi Semoga diri kita, love ones kita, ahli keluarga, sedara mara, kawan2 kita beragama Islam, semua berakhir hayat bila nyawa kena cabut ngan malaikat maut tu dalam keadaan beragama Islam. Akhir yang baik.

Besides the upcoming John McMurtie's On Board Flight 666 photo book, these are some other books that catch my eye, for the good or bad points.

Frstly, a book written by a crew member of two of my favourite ever bands, who was in both bands for a total of 30 YEARS. So his book on his experience with both Deep Purple and RAINBOW will I think be one of the best ever. Especially with all the explosives inside stories and backstage stuffs between all the ever-changing band members, his experience with the bands when they play live especially in the 70s and everyhing else that happens to both bands that I am interested to know.
Especially now I am waiting for David Coverdale's Ular Putih to come and I got the ticketssss.. ssss.. ssssss.. ( snake hissing sound ).

Colin devoted over thirty years of his life to these great rock musicians. This is his story and indeed theirs. A tale of excess in terms of greed, petulance, anger and devotion. It is counter balanced by extremes of pure talent, showmanship and, of course musicianship. He was the constant ‘man in the middle’ through all of the break ups, make-ups and revolving door line-up changes. Joining them at twenty-four years old and leaving thirty years later, he was there every step of their rock ‘n’ roll way. A story of two of the most innovative, often copied, rock bands; seen through the eyes, ears and emotions of their ‘mother hen’ (as Jon Lord described him). He was their minder, chauffeur, carer, provider, protector, father confessor & confidant. In truth he is the only one who can tell this tale of both bands as he was the only one there on the road throughout the life of, not one, but both gigantic bands.

Hart endured a roller coaster ride, working for Purple, during the band’s most successful period. He was there when the casino burnt down in Montreux, and witnessed Smoke On The Water being born; the legendary concerts in Japan; the break-up of the Gillan / Glover line-up; the auditions that saw David Coverdale join the band, and the California Jam performance in front of 400,000.

When Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple in early 1975 and formed Rainbow, Colin went with him and continued as Rainbow’s tour manager through the ever-revolving line-ups. He was invariably the man who had to break the news to many of the hopefuls that auditioned for the band: “We’ll get back to you” being the stock reply!

In 1984 when Blackmore disbanded Rainbow for the Deep Purple reunion, Colin naturally resumed his role with these rock giants as they embarked on a world tour that included the hugely successful 1985 US leg - the second biggest grossing US tour that year after Bruce Springsteen. A déjà vu situation occurred as Colin was in the middle of yet more band break-ups as first, Gillan departed, Turner joined, Gillan returned and Blackmore departed, while Steve Morse emerged to take the band into the new millennium, although for Colin his thirty years on the road with two of the biggest bands in rock history came to an end in 2001.
And the deluxe edition... really makes me crazy!! I think I am going head over heels for this specific book.

Next, there is this photo book called Murder In The Front Row , 272 pages of full color early days of Thrash metal bands at San Francisco. Big 4 and all the rest.

ok.. breath in breath out...breath in breath out.. haha.
But... D.E.S.T.R.U.C.T.I.O.N will not be in this book rite? Unless the book is called Murder In Ze Front Row , haha. So if you cant have their photos in this book, you can snap photos of them yourselves next month whehn they're on stage.
Contemplating.....contemplating... I dont sound like a person who will be out of job soon do I ? ooo the priorities of life, but its ok to treat yourself once in a while.

Aha, speaking of this book, I just remember the nice friendly lady at the Yishun branch of the National Library telling me the Library welcomes recommendations on any kind of books to bring in. Aha...I hope to recommend this book, although that latest Ross Halfin Metallica book is still not in the Library online catalog yet.

Next, something that I will expect high standard on, something that will be great, since I had already got the first book on Steve Harris ( you guys know how much I like this book on my blog post sometimes back ). So now Stipe ( Maidencroatia ) will be coming out with his second one on Adrian Smith called Stranger In A Strange Land, which is of course a Maiden song written completely by H himself. I dont know the people who will be sharing their stories about H for this book, but it will be nice.
No arguments about it but H returns play a big part in what Maiden had become now, being bigger than ever before. And if Steve Harris will only just allow H to take complete charge of a Maiden studio album, it will be the most delightful thing ever. Unfortunately...it will never happen hahaa. But, maybe it will?
This book will be out on H birthday next Feb. So I think I can KIV for the time being.

Lastly, there is this new book called The Ultimate Illutrated History by Neil Daniels. I think, I got a feeling this book is those that compiled photos and infos we have seen and read and just repackaged nicely by a person.
So I think..... I WILL SKIP THIS BOOK. I may change my mind but for now, I am not interested. Anyway its not out till much later.

At first, looking at the title illustrated, and with a Derek Riggs artwork cover, I thought its going to be something great, but then seeing Neil Daniels, and my heart says,... NEXT PLEASE. haha. But maybe can get a copy if I can afford it of course, but I doubt it, there are a number of Maiden related books that I am not interested already out in the market already.

biar tercepat jangan terlambat. Satu bagus dan tak bagus nye Terminal Bersepadu Selatan ni berbanding Puduraya dan Bukit Jalil nye carpark, ialah bas jalan takde hegeh2 sangat. Hegeh2 tu ada, tapi sikit je. Kalo korang lambat thats it.. beli tiket bas lain le.

So kalo korang gi tingkat dua (actually aras 4 ke hapa ntah ), ada macam2 kedai tu yang Kenny Rogers ngan 'Wendy/Starbucks yang tak bukak2' actually kat row belakang tu ok jugak la korang lepak.

Memang class, dah macam airport, ngan screen info besar giler, dan pengalaman aku hari raya lepas, memang alrite.. no hassle, pengguna dan penumpang bas ekspress mesti gembira harga tiket dah tak giler babi sangat ngan hilangnya sebagian orang yang ambik kesempatan bila musim perayaan.

Tapi aku tak beli kat kaunter2 yang dijalankan pihak TBS, kecuali kalo aku nak naik bas konsortium etc.
Macam Transnational, causeway link, etc, semua masih pakai kaunter mereka ngan pekerja mereka ngan ticketing sistem mereka sendiri.

Till we get an official release dvd and double cd ( I hope ), which I think will be the best ever Wings live official release and a sure hotseller, this is something to remember for those who are there, and also for those who are not there.
The full 2hrs show unedited.

A low quality fan audience audio recording, but I think this is one of my best. I had been listening a few times and it gives me a bit of goosebumps especially on songs like Hukum Karma and Taman Rashidah Utama. One fast, one slow, which demonstrates how both the band and the audience are into it.

I love it so much so I just put in on youtube just in case anyone is interested.
Malay Rock Music is seriously lacking in archieving all the live performances since the days of the 70s. I am not merely talking about a multi lineup pop concert with one or two songs being played by your favourite rock band, but a full 90mins-2hrs show.

Some of my older recordings are too embarassing quality to upload at least on youtube, but still if all these is not shared, then it will just dissapear..

enjoy - I think using a earphone or headphone at maximum volume will helps a bit.

review kumpulan Wings 16 Sept 2011 Suntec City Singapore

Ulasan pegi tengok smalam. Bila Wings umum live di Singapura, aku mula2 ingat dorang nak buat macam tu hari yang ada koir ngan orkestra tu semua, aku tak minat la nak keluar duit tengok Wings main lagu2 mereka ngan benda2 gini. Mesti aku kejong dan bosan tengok lagu2 Wings yang aku minat dari dorang keluar kaset pertama dulu diubahsuai ngan koir dan strings. Satu lagu ok la tapi kalo the whole show, aku kena fikir banyak2 la. Ni aku cakap untuk diri aku sendiri so don’t be offended. Everyone has a different taste and its your hard-earned money, time and effort so you make your choice.

Tapi bila aku terbaca, dorang cuma tambah satu keyboards player je baru aku semangat sikit dan terus beli tiket. Walau aku tak konfiden bila baca konsep ‘rockestra’ yang Wings nak tonjolkan.
Jugak, aku dah lama sangat tak nengok Wings main full concert atau headline act kat Singapura. Tu last yang Awie cakap kat tepi kubur dulu.Mungkin perasaan aku, tapi Wings kalo main kat Singapore macam ALL OUT semacam, Awie pun main lepas cakap je apa dia nak cakap. Siak je Awie, siap announce dia dah berair sampai dia punya bontot. Lagi kena declare tu air peluh lagi. Tapi his gay and nyah jokes are hilarious.

Aku tak masuk tengok kedua2 opening acts, jadi no komen. Bila aku masuk koyak tiket, dj Hafeez Glamour ngah buat segmen penuh lawak ngan beberapa peminat atas stage. Alrite la dj Ria ni. Aku ni bukan jenis dengar radio baik kat Spore atau Msia.

So masa aku kat luar aku study seating plans, tengok macam seats dalam 7000+, aku masuk dalam wow…not bad, Cuma belah kiri kanan je ada ruang kosong. Aku dah tak kuasa nak carik seat aku, so aku duk je tempat yang banyak kosong, lagipun aku nak bootleg untuk kenangan aku sendiri jadi kat tempat tak kecoh, I can try to get the best possible sound outcome using my humble little recorder.
Stage dia awesome giler for a Malay rock band performance. TIGA giant screens kat blakang band. Kamera video cover angles semua baik punya, termasuk angle tangkap penonton. Betul2 pandai tangkap sudut jadi kalo orang tengok video smalam dorang ingat full house haha. Korang semua harap la, malam tadi punya show akan keluar dalam bentuk dvd ( dan haraplah kalo keluar jangan cuma untuk pasaran Singapura saje ), pasal aku pun kagum ngan live editing yang masuk kat tiga screen besar tu, licin je dan semua angle menarik, ngan Eddie buat muka lawak waktu ngah belakangkan audience pun dapat dirakam dan terus live dipaparkan kat screen video besar giler tu. Sound pun memang best. Yamaguchi yang soundman jepun tu Awie cakap dia dulu Jepun, skarang dah tukar IC Jawa.

OK this is what happens ok, song by song review of Wings live in Singapore Suntec City 16 Sept 2011. Aku try selitkan apa2 happening seluruh persembahan ni termasuk Awie nya stage banters yang best kalo aku tak type tadi kat atas.
1. Intro by the keyboards player. Later that night, masa intro keyboards player Wings, Awie buat lawak cakap dah tiap2 hari dorang sama, dah bukan pemuzik jemputan lagi pun, ‘dah kira confirmed’ Awie cakap, tapi bayaran tetap sessionist.
2. Watari. Ooo masuk instrumental dulu. The sound is alrite la untuk halwa telinga aku.
3. Opera Hidup. Macam banyak lagu lain malam ni, dan apa aku perasan sejak dua menjak ni Wings ada improvise sikit intro2 lagu dorang, got good and bad for me as a fan. Negatifnya, ada lagu intro yang kita suka sangat dah terus tak wujud, tapi positifnya, kebanyakkan lagu jadi panjang sikit, pasal ada intro2 improvise ni. Tapi aku nak emphasis, once the song starts proper, it will still sounds like what you guys are familiar with.
AWIE TOP FORM malam ni. NI aku type block letter ok. Suara dia best, dan banyak pekik2 malam ni. Dan Awie handsome giler ni malam. Of course all Wings pun hensem2 belaka la, tapi siak je Awie cakap ni malam dorang cantik lak. Haha. Memang banyak jokes tu malam.
4. Hukum Karma. Terus masuk Hukum Karma nye improvise intro, tapi audience dah boleh baca apa lagu nak main, tetap dah “ooooo” tanpa apa2 prompting. Happening crowd malam tadi. Sebab tu kot Awie cakap satu part tu “ RASA MACAM KAT WEMBLEY”. Not only a live dvd please, a double cd also would be welcome.
5. Semalam Yang Hangat. Aku memang feberet lagu ni, so of course la aku happy. Bila audience dapat identify intro lagu ni, wahh meriah betul. Awie did mention about 4000 is in attendance tonight. Hey, that’s great considering considering its still Hari Raya season, $148-$68 seats, and on a Friday night. Remember its a normal working and school day in Singapore unlike in Malaysia its a public holiday. Kumpulan Wings is a huge famous name in Singapore and I think Wings themselves know that.
Dari berbagai umur, makcik pakcik ke muda remaja, dari semua golongan masyarakat, PAKALIAO. Macam aku cakap, sejak kaset Wings pertama keluar dulu Belenggus Iramas tu, Wings terus dah kat hati peminat2 Singapore and dorang maintain.

6. Ranggi Metropolis. Suka siak. Dah macam lagu wajib lak bila aku tengok Wings live.
7. Lena Diulit Mimpi. Surprise song untuk aku, happy woo, dan Awie perkenalkan lagu ni dan lagu2 lain malam ni ngan cara dia tersendiri , lagu Cindai tetap ada macam biasa. Also Malam ni setiap Hantu Kak Limah punya lawak yang Awie buat dapat sambutan hangat penonton. Sampai part nak ‘kita bako kita bako’ si Joe punya amp pasal overheat berasap. Tapi apa pun technical problem Joe is having, Awie memang pandai cover time ngan dia punya borak2.
8. Bernafas Dalam Lumpur. Awie introduce sebagai Bernafas Dalam Longkang. Lagi sekali stage banter Awie first class ngan ayat2 moral dan menuju kebaikkan dia haha. Tapi apa dia cakap semua betul. Apa berlaku hari ni ialah pengajaran untuk hari esok.
Anyway, apsal improvise intro lagu ni ingatkan aku kat Michael Jackson nye hold me like the river jordan tu.
9. Inspirasi Taming Sari. Cara Awie perkenalkan lagu ni, korang kena dengar. Memang best. Awie cerita dia ajak David Coverdale ngan Mariah Carey nyanyi lagu ni dorang tak nak pasal dorang bukan melayu. Tapi dia nak audience Singapore malam tadi nyanyi ramai2. Kecoh siak. Siap cakap Semoga Tidak Melayu Hilang Di Singapura. Macam aku cakap kat intro, video editing yang broadcast kat tiga screen besar tu memang best, jadi seluruh persembahan, korang dapat closeup untuk kesemua anggota Wings beraksi hebat dari dekat termasuk keyboard player dorang. Please la ada live dvd, pasal memang best. Kalo takde, korang tunggu la sapa ada rakam seluruh konsert tu pakai video handphone dorang.

10. Romania. Pleasant surprise again walau intro improvise lagu ni memang buat aku lost. Awie pun improvise lirik lagu ni, setiap akhir korus, Awie ganti “oh Romania” ngan “Oh Singapore”. Gerek.
11. Keyboard solo. Ermmm ok la anggota Wings nak rehat dan audience pun ada nak gi toilet kot. Tapi aku terhibur so no hal.
12. Joe Instrumental. Joe main instrumental dia ( sampai skarang aku tak tau apa nama title instrumental ni ) yang serupa ngan double trouble KL Bukit Kiara dan JB Stadium Larkin. Sorry la, aku type ni dari memori dan playback bootleg so aku type apa aku ingat je la. Lain2 latest shows Wings setahun dua selain DT dua tempat ni aku tak pegi so I don’t know.
13. Jerangkung Dalam Almari. Perasaan aku ke? Tapi lagu Jerangkungs ni macam dapat tepukan paling gemuruh je bila abis main? Hebat persembahan lagu ni.
14. Sejati. Intro improvise versi terkini lagu Sejati ni aku dah tengok kat youtube, sedutan dari kat mana nya tv event ntah, so takdelah mengejutkan sangat intro dia bila dengar smalam dan jugak Black improvisation masa guitar solo. Dramatik giler siak. Kenangan itu..”KENANGAN ITU!!!”. Eddie did the backing vocals on this " kenangan itu!!" and other backing parts. Aku suka sangat. Audience tak yah cakap la, semua pun nak tunggu nyanyi part backing ‘Kenangan itu’ dari first korus lagik, tapi aku tak boleh…nanti buat spoil macam bootleg Maiden kat Indoor Stadium tu hari, Shit!! I spoil it myself!!. Awie turun stage time ending part.
15. Taman Rashidah Utama, atau Rasyidah atau apa2 je la spelling dia. Awie intro lagu ni sebagai lagu wajib kalo main kat Singapore. Awie jugak perkenalkan lagu ni sebagai “ TAMAN YISHUN UTAMA”. Awie you have great taste , Yishun tempat gerekk haha. Tapi, maybe bad omen kot? Ye la lagu kubur haha. Apa pun best best best.

Then Wings leave the stage, then ni part aku tak tahu memang Hafeez Glamour dah pre-planned nak cover time tunggu encore atau pasal dah part yang kat seats atas semua dah hentak2 lantai kuat giler tu. Maybe dorang takut things get out of hand? Tu ah Hafeez terus masuk suruh bawak bertenang , be patient, pasal Wings keluar lagi haha. Siap cakap thats more like Singaporean lepas things cool down kot? Remember Sweet Charity nye 40 years show, Ramli cakap nak buat apa buatlah, asal jangan ada rusuhan haha. Aku pun fikir, beb tengok bola kat stadium kallang korang hempas dan hentak berapa kuat la 50,000 orang, stadium tu konkrete besi beb, ni temporary stands and seats, worse case scenario roboh semua siak haha.
16. Musafir Di Aidilfitri. Wings keluar, ucap selamat hari raya, maaf zahir batin etc. Terus Wings masuk lagu hari raya S Jibeng ni. Aku serious berbual, this is the song of the night!. Awie kan top form malam ni, lagu ni dia betul2 punya perasaan kot. Awie nye vocal part pekik2 wowwww. I think macam Bruce Dickinson top form of his life right now, Awie pun sama dari persembahan dia malam tadi. Aku heran bila baca orang boleh cakap Bruce dah tua, suara dah tak macam mid 80s dulu. Well....opps salah topic haha.
17. Peronda Jaket Biru. Crystal ke Kristal nye guitarist tu join in untuk lagu ni. and main 2nd guitar solo lagu ni. Wings then masuk dorang punya fast number penutup konsert and goodnite.

Total time dalam 2 jam. No popular fast songs like Awang Thrasher, no Bujang Senang, no Alam Barzakh, no Lipas Kudung and no some other songs yang whole night audience pekik2 jerit2 request. Tapi Wings banyak lagu orang suka dan dorang jenis tukar2 setlist nyeband. So mesti ada la famous fast and slow songs dorang yang ketinggalan.

The organiser/promoter has been great. I really enjoy attending this show, the security did their job with a smile and not being overzealous. Yes, I still find it weird sitting down, but other than that all is very pleasant. The place is actually fabulous so its my loss for thinking otherwise. You get the idea from the first two photos above ( click to enlarge all photos ).

Firstly this is the resub tshirt for the year 2011 for the maiden fan club. White, simple and attractive.

You're entitled to a resub tshirt when you renew your membership on time and dont let it expire before signing on again.

Next,
I always love Derek Riggs for his role in helping Maiden become what it is today, add that to him going the extra effort to giving me all the extras for his book, that makes him special.

Here's some of his late 90s rare works on sale by collectors, I think in his current style of using computers.
Its so different that I am not surprise people have doubt whether this is Derek Riggs. I think beautiful and cute hummingbirds are as far away as Eddie controlling the Devil in the bowels of hell. For me, Its nice to at least get to see his rare works on the internet.

news - Malay Music Mania & comic strips tribute to 911

Some interesting stories from the cover story of Life section of the Straits Times (sokkabar singapore ) dated 2nd September 2011 with the title Malay Music Mania. I like the articles so I want to share it here for those who havent seen it yet.
Its due to the triple heavyweight shows that is coming one after another.. with rock band Wings, legendary pop singer Jamal Abdillah and I think the best of them all, the combination of siblings Anuar and Ziana Zain for the first time ever holding a full concert together.

Ticket wise I am so surprised that Ziana Zain + Anuar Zain first full show together has quite a surprising cheap price tickets range at Esplanade.
But doesnt matter, their fans will be so much happier, NO WONDER ITS BLOODY FUCKING SOLD OUT way in advance.
I am not going but from my own experience and listening and reading about other shows, when malay performers perform at Esplanade Concert Hall, it will usually be a fantastic experience with shows dragging to 3 hrs or more. I understand even Sheila Majid did about 3hrs if I am not wrong there.
I dont know, maybe its the aura of the place, and maybe to a general Singapore crowd, they can let it loose and be all out without worrying about what to say or show respect to whos who in the audience.

Jadi to summarise..

Anuar Zain + Ziana Zain, pertama kali buat persembahan bersama untuk konsert mereka sendiri, main kat Esplanade concert hall yang tempat kecik la 1600 max, tapi sapa pernah pergi tengok konsert Melayu kat sana atau dah tengok dvd Sweet Charity or Lovehunters kat sana tahu la betapa best tempat tu, walau aku tahu mesti ada tak suka Handphone lines semua kena block haha.

Kalo band melayu dari Malaysia la, aku nak tengok Wings main tempat ni... tak mau hegeh2 orkestra ke apa ke, just Wings je... mau giler kalo dorang tak mau stop main lepas berejam, dan tu la aku suka Wings...dorang kalo main dorang punya own show tanpa apa2 special situation, dorang boleh seret tak agak2. seret as in SERETTTTT.

Jamal Abdillah is a huge affair pasal main kat Indoor Stadium, tempat korang semua pergi tengok Iron Maiden tu hari haha, tapi aku rasa modified seating arrangement will make it a 7000 max. Korang rasa ada makcik2 nak diri kat railing first to the barrier ke haha. Tapi ni Jamiyah nye event so I think they must be confident about the show.

Wings...oooo aku tak pernah pergi tengok show kat Suntec, pasal...DUDUK!!.. So what am I suppose to do tengok konsert rock sambil duduk?
Aku bukan saja kena jaga etika aku, tapi kena ambik perhatian orang duk belakang2 aku so aku tak bleh suka2 je nak buat apa aku nak. And its hard to boo and shout insults if you're seating haha..

Aku tengok Deep Purple empat kali, last tahun lepas aku pilih duduk pasal aku takde duit nak beli tiket diri, Siol ah...KEJONG siak... Highway Star starting dia dan aku tengah duduk!!! tak macam sial tu. Kaki je la goyang haha. Positifnye the bootleg was proper haha. Ooo tu jam, cam biasa, langkah kanan, aku ngan kawan aku bergerak ngan penuh sopan santun ke arah seats mahal yang kosong, dekat sikit haha.

So Suntec Wings nye show boleh isi 5000 max ye? dorang mesti bukak2 convention hall lain2 punye dinding tu dorang jadikan luas kot? Banyak jugak bands besar pernah main situ kot, TOTO pun, hah tu aku tak gi yang suntec nye...aku gi TOTO yang Fort Canning nye haha.
TOTO - hmmmnnn memang kena sesuai la aku guna ayat band besar. The best of the best la dorang.

Aku harap Wings jangan lah banyak sangat rockestra or whatever estra2 ni semua, aku tak minat la sangat... full rock n roll please. Thanks in advance. Tapi dorang cuma tambah satu keyboards je untuk ni show so I am not expecting the worse la haha.

Satu benda tiap2 hari kalau boleh... ialah baca comic strips. Aku suka giler baik kat mana2 sokkabar ataupun online pun jadi lah.
Aku memang hardcore Get Fuzzy, tapi apa pun la...aku tak cerewet.

Sayangnye Get Fuzzy tak buat lak, tapi Heart Of The City buat... aku suka lak Heart Of The City, walaupun dorang cute giler dan langsung tak brutal dan kurang unsur2 hooliganisma dan kurang ajar dan nak asyik nak perdajalkan orang je cam Get Fuzzy haha.

911 and Twisted Sister

I think everyone in this world is affected by 911. Till today after 10 years and maybe forever.
Whether you are travelling, reading about tragedies in other countries and most important the trust between fellow human beings. yes TRUST.
Do you guys remember where were you when 911 happens? How were you informed?

Aku tengah hegeh2 kat bawah blok rumah parents aku... magrib magrib gitu kot or lepas magrib ( erk hehe ) or is it Isyak dah, aku dah lupa exact time tapi aku tahu dah malam la, kawan aku tepon suruh bukak tv dia bilang kat New York ada kekecohan. Siak ah? aku macam apa sey jadi...So aku tu jam ada pasang cable ( zaman cable tv murah ) so ada cnn, so aku bukak la...
aku masih ingat first scene aku nengok tengah zoom dari jauh twin towers tu then commentary ngah ulasan, then satu bangunan ngah berasap, then kat screen tiba2 muncul lagi satu kapalterbang dan langgar lagi satu...siak ah...macam tak percaya.. tak tahu lak just in time aku bukak cnn nampak tu live atau replay. Ngan mula2 manusia, lepas tu bangunan2 tu lak falling down tu semua, aku sedih siak
So aku memang follow up la pasal 911 ni, dari hari tu, bertahun2, sampai hari ni, sokkabar pun ada keluar macam special 10(?? baru flip thru) pages 911 smalam, then dalam internet, macam2 la cerita.
Apa2 je la, aku baca semua dari berbagai cerita, dan pandangan...pasal menarik minat aku sangat.
Tu jam, aku beli wooo special edition Time Magazine ngan Newsweek yang relese immediately after happening tu.

Tu jam aku ngah fikir, abis la...dah takdelah filem2 Hollywood macam Die Hard ni semua...tapi kejap je..

Apa pun, ramai orang tak bersalah mati, ngah keja carik makan, dari pangkat paling besar big boss, sampai pangkat paling kecik basuh toilet, termasuk orang islam pun mati jugak masa serangan tu... dulu aku pernah cakap pasal 911 cover majalah Gila Gila, so tak yah la aku ulang lagi.

So then, NEW YORK STEEL HAPPENS!!...
This was like the biggest news for me as a music lover, because they were organising this fund raising charity benefit to support the family members of New York Police and Firemen ( NYPD and FDNY ) who die during the rescue and they got TWISTED SISTER to reunite and play.
After 14, FOURTEEN YEARS. Yes, I understand the reunion happens due to a terrible happening, but I tell you, on the day of the show, I think the Twisted Sister fans worldwide are glued to the internet to check out what setlist, the audio bootlegs and whatever they can get their hands on. I think that time Youtube is still not so happening as it is now. This show seems to be the trigger that made Twisted Sister plays until today due to the response. ( and I still hope to see them play live one day ).

Twisted Sister never in costume that day, just tshirt and jeans and no make-up.
I was so happy because, hallloooooo, I love Twisted Sister since the mid 80s.
Of course, people nowadays sample TS by listening to " we're not gonna take it", but I dont really like that song.
Some people who discover them later may think TS is crap, wearing girls clothes and make-up, and basically uncool glam metal, but I guess I got lucky, cause I grow up much earlier with the perfect " You Cant Stop Rock N Roll". Still one of my favourites. Still a cd ( previously cassette tape ) that I will bring along to a desert island with me.

Next time, if free I want to talk about other bands that I love, especially now Iron Maiden is lying low after the end of the world tour.

So back to the 911 benefit gig by Twisted Sister, I think an official release is just finally out on dvd, bundled with a 1982 show of pre-Under The Blade period. But take note, the WTC is not really recorded for official dvd release because I saw the sample on youtube and its a bit dark, but its the historical content of the show itself that is so important.
Maybe one day, I'll get this double dvd.

Alice Cooper - Apasal? Why So Late Then Informed??

memang happening la bulan September, October, November ni untuk peminat2 pop/rok omputeh kat Singapore dan Malaysia. Macam2 la, dari Elton John sampai Children Of Bodom, dari Linkin Park sampai Whitesnake dan all in between. Tapi harga tiket Elton John belah depan memang kannina betul. Elton John beb, legend. Empty Garden.. kecik2 dulu suka dengar lagu ni.

Tapi paling terkejut, baru je announced Alice Cooper main 5th October 2011 ( Singapore ). Terkehel betul umum2 last minit gini. Harga tiket a bit tight, tapi nampak nye main kat Hard Rock Sentosa, jadi aku jangkakan tempat yang kecik, maknanya close up dekat giler dan very intimate show dan since Alice Cooper ngah world-tour " No More Mr Nice Guy " jadi aku expect a full show ngan full stage presentation siap ngan sampah-sarap semua kat atas pentas. Stage dia kecoh siak untuk ni tour. Aik? aku berbual macam konfem pergi je eh? haha.

Tentu ada peminat rok kat Msia/Spore yang sebelum ni tengah ikat perut nak backpack gi Soundwave Revolution nye festival terutama Perth dates sepatutnya tak lama lagi. Van Halen ( with DLR ) headlining dan rumours ialah Aerosmith pun ada ngan Alice Cooper. Tapi hancur bocai sampai terus semua kensel. Jadi apa aku tahu Alice Cooper main banyak dates kat Oz dia punye show sendiri dan Spore ni ialah stopover sekali la. Tu la kot last minit.

ok meh cakap pasal Alice Cooper. Kita mula ngan make-up hias2 muka, sebelum King Diamond, kita dah ada KISS. Dan King Diamond pun dah pernah kena surat lawyer pasal dekat sangat salah satu design dia ngan design Demon Gene Simmon yang dah copyrighted.
Tapi sebelum KISS, Alice Cooper dah start make-up lagi awal. Dan aku rasa banyak stage performance dari pertengahan 70an, dan 80an , 90an sampai skarang, dapat idea dan dorongan dari Alice Cooper ni. Dari dia punya ular sampai dia punya tempat pancung alat guilotine tu. Dan lain2 alat2 macrabe dia yang lain2 cam alat gantung dan alat siksa dia.

Apa yang kita nampak skarang dari mana2 band, apa pun kita minat stage performance apa2 genre, semua ada permulaan nya lama dulu dah. Iron Maiden pun takkan sehebat apa kita tahu kalo Steve Harris tak cedok idea dan tiru hollow2 dari band2 lain masa dia membesar.

Lagu2 Alice Cooper lak, yang awal 70an tu masih evergreen sampai skarang. Aku masih kagum ngan Billion Dollar Babies nye melodi tiap kali dengar. Memang untung jadi rock fan bila dengar lagu ni untuk aku. Korang kat rumah, yang korang main atau anak2 korang main PS2 Guitar Hero tu, konfem mesti berkumandang School's Out. Budak2 skarang boleh singalong lagu tu just because pengaruh game ni. Legend abis lagu ni. Asal tak sampai buat rusuhan dalam bilik darjah dan bakar rambut cikgu pasal dah kena rasuk ngan lagu ni dah. ( Korang kalo tak tahu, ada kes dah jadi cikgu ngah tulis kat whitebod, anak murid dari belakang bakar rambut dia pakai lighter la siak, pelajar pompuan lagik, tak brutal tu? Budak tu pun tak sangka memang betul2 terbakar, aku rasa dia ingat cuma nak kasi gempak satu classroom je )

Lagu2 dia yang pertengahan 80an lak, memang pop hits/radio hits abis la. Untuk radio stesen kat Nusantara ni Poison ngan Hey Stoopid memang top giler la akhir 80an awal 90n dulu. Tapi serious berbual zaman ni lagu2 rock dia mass appeal abis.

Even sapa tak pernah dengar lagu Alice Cooper pun tentu enjoy Megadeth Hidden Treasure " no more mr nice guy " nye cover version.

Yang latest2 lepas tu aku tak follow, tapi...aku tetap ikut perkembangan Alice Cooper ni kat internet news terutama tahun ni pasal dia tahun ni ada shows ngan Maiden time festivals. Dan reviews Alice Cooper live ni kan, mesti best best. Kat youtube pun korang pergi tengok yang 2011 nye video recordings, feedback yang pegi tengok live semua puji dan cakap best giler.

Lagi satu, Alice Cooper standard ah, dari dulu band musicians dia semua terror. So mesti menarik la walaupun nama tak kenal. Dan ni ada kena mengena ngan soalan berikut.

Pasal....... KANE ROBERTS start famous dari jadi guitarist dia.

As Usual, a new blog posting wont be so exciting without some self-taken photos to decorate it.
So a quick rush thru my boxes of cds found this. Alice Cooper very basic but superb compilation called Classicks which I think focus on his Epic years in late 80s and early 90s.
Hit songs, songs released as singles. Very mass appeal quality although still rocking.
Loves A Loaded Gun has always been my favourite, Lost In America has funny lyrics about being dysfunctional both personal and family-wise " i aint got a girl cos i dont have a car, i aint got a car cos I aint got a job, now i'm looking for a girl with a car and a job " very hilarious song, House Of Fire with a fantastic chorus, and the travelling all over the world Its Me. Plus some of his early songs performed live. He did mentioned Birmingham on it.

So I expect at least half the songs here to be included in his setlist. And please...be it a full setlist and presentation that the rest of world are getting for this current tour.
The way I am saying is as if I am confirm going to this show.
How I wish. Lets see how it goes.

Masa beli aku dah agak buku ni yang mengcombinekan hadith dan lukisan humour berunsur positif mesti best.
Tapi aku tak sangka memang best abis.
Banyak la aku boleh belajar dari buku ni, so aku sokong kalo buku ni untuk seluruh peringkat umur.

Kulit buku depan dan belakang..dan sikit contoh...macam biasa klik untuk kasi besar sikit.

Also, Walking Dead has now reach vol 14 for the compilation book.
I have to start reserving on the internet to read them, there is low chance of you easily finding the volumes you want lying around in the national libraries no matter which branch you go.
So if you have money, you can buy all these but if dont, The Library is the way to go.
Anyway, I find Walking Dead keeps getting more and more depressed..

And anyway, I have not seen the tv series yet at all. Pathetic giler kan?

These are the current graphic stories I just finished reading or am reading...

The Benjamin Button graphic novel version is very simple and entertaining, and a bit sad.
The Muhammad Ali versus Superman graphic story is simply superb.
Done in the 70s. It tells the story of some super powerful villian alien dictator, who accuses human and the planet Earth of being warlike, and thus could bring problems to all the planets in the universe, so before he destroys Earth, and seems Superman cant even stop his attacks, they decide on Earth sending a Champion Warrior - a boxing representative, to fight the alien's champion.
So before that Muhammad Ali must fight Superman in boxing to choose the Earth's Warrior. Superman superhuman power was to be neutralise so he can fight Muhammad Ali on even terms...BEST GILER!!.

Currently now I am reading a compilation of the Marvel comics called NAM.
It depicts realistically what happen to US Soldiers during Vietnam War.
Seems when its first realised on comics, the timeline is similar to real life then. Read the Incoming text to understand what I say.
Its so good, that when it first come out in 1986, it beats the movie Platoon, as the best description of what the US Soidiers go thru during that war.

I dont have any pics, but right now I am so obsessed with Captain America compilations. Not the ones he tag team with the avengers or any other group efforts,
but Captain America alone durin his early days and up to his current days after his rescue from the frozen waters. The Communist era witchhunt storyline is very nice.

a brief observation of this year's Hari Raya Aidilfitri

I realise I never post any Ramadhan/Hari Raya Eid Fitr related photos at all for this year.
So heres a few photos I randomly snap. Only JB and KL, Singapore none at all.

We celebrate 1st Shawal in Malaysia this year. And with the occasion just a day difference from Malaysia's Independence Day, it called for a double celebration for Malaysians.

I took this photo while waiting for my bus at Larkin Bus Terminal. The ketupat ( sort of dumpling rice ) seller has both the Malaysian flag and Johor state flag on top of her stall.

This is meanwhile the scene at Jalan TAR ( Tuanku Abdul Rahman ) in KL at the night of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Its the same atmosphere and crowded like hell as in Geylang Serai Singapore on the same night.

Reminds me of last year we were in Geylang Serai but avoiding the crowd by going for a chng tng ( lai chee kang or chikong or whatever you want to call the dessert ) at the hawker center instead.

I saw it on tv ( TV9) how the tv/radio station crew are going around Jalan TAR to ask simple questions and giving out Duit Raya. But I never saw any haha.
The makcik cant even name one TV9 program during Ramadhan, she was given a tip of "Seharum... " and she says " Seharum Ramadhan" or something, but she was corrected and still given the gift.
I got a feeling, maybe the makcik works so hard all day all night, that she dont have time for any form of tv viewing or any entertainment.
SHE IS NOT ALONE.

Anyway, apa aku perasan, Takbir malam raya ni makin kureng sikit makin kureng sikit, makin kurengggg sikit. This year aku tengok stesen2 kat TV pun makin kureng je tunjuk takbir. Tak abis2 ucapan...ucapan...ucapan....raya. Ye la, kalo takbir kat tv pun kita bukak kat rumah ada jugak tempias dia kita dapat. So actually dapat takbir dua tiga kali pelan2 atau dalam hati pun jadi la lepas Maghrib or whatever. Kalo tak hafal part solo tu pun aku rasa takpe, dapat takbir yang ramai2 buat tu pun jadilah...

This Hari Raya season is a depressing one for me Arsenal-wise. Trying to convince my love one not to change team. 8-2 but as a kid, I grow up when Middlesbrough won 5-0 so its nothing that shocking for me.

Last I log onto internet before Eid-Fitr, Scott Parker was chased by Tottenham. I always thought he should be in Arsenal as he is good and he is English. While Arsenal are just chasing shadows with a few days left of transfer. I have the impression Arsenal can buy, but cannot afford the weekly salary.

Its like, you save up money to install airconditioning, and you ( I am referring to myself ) get it install, but you ( I am referring to myself ) know you ( I am referring to myself ) got problem paying the electric bill monthly, so you ( I ) dont do it :-)

Today, I log onto internet. Scott Parker is confirmed with Spurs. Sad for myself. But this means in Song and Frimpong we trust.

But Arsenal suddenly have
- The South Korean Captain
- The Werder Bremen Captain/70+ cap German international who will partner Vermalen.
- The Israel Captain who was booed and cause embarrassing apologies to be made on the behalf the people who boo this player. This is news worldwide, and it really is stupid and negative advertisement.
- The Everton playmaker who is 5th ranking in creating goals last season, and is a Spaniard to boot.
- The Brazil first choice left back though I never hear of this guy before.

I got the tickets to see Wings on 16 September 2011 in Suntec Singapore. For those who dont know, Wings is a Malaysian rock band which has been around for about 25 years, and has been so very consistent and I had always enjoyed seeing them playing live in Malaysia and Singapore. I bought their first album on cassette when it first come out and nobody knows them, purely on words of mouth of friends at school on how good they are and now, decades later I still enjoy their music.

But something special about this show for me not is only it had been a long time since I had seen them in Singapore as past few years I only attend their shows in KL and JB. I think last show they did in Singapore that I attended was back in about 2003.
The Special Thing is -
I AM GOING TO SEE WINGS SITTING DOWN. THE SHOW IS ALL SEATS. AND I AM GOING TO BE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AND IT WILL BE WEIRD FOR ME.

Sorry, but I dont like to sit down and watch a rock concert, unless its Esplanade. But I have no choice right? Or else I can choose not to attend.

Moving on... today is 28/8/2011, I was at work last night so I know the date as I opened/closed book at midnight.

Listening to a Maiden bootleg ( what else?? ), its the Reading 1982 festival, and I was meddling with my mp3 player and on the screen is stated the date of the recording.. ooo its 28 August 1982.
So its how long is it now? To follow Minoru Nihara's expletive words, its now 29 Fucking years.

And its a coincidence I listened to a recording made on its anniversary.

Ooo lets talk about Ozzy Osbourne, I am really not aware he played a spectacular long show, its so long that it takes a triple cd for the bootleg.

Seems its at Toronto Canada , during the days of SARS back in 2003.
Jason Newstead was on bass... but I hear it, I dont have any problem with the sound recording, but I dont like the drums, then he was using the Faith No More drummer, and I dont know, I just dont like the drums. So this is not a bootleg I will listen again although just check the setlist, a Black Sabbath celebrations on top of Ozzy's solo hits...and we get Miracle Man too.

Ok Ok Lets talk about the hottest rock n roll band in the world - KISS.

I was at Darul Makmur Mosque, Yishun, Singapore, for Friday Prayers few days back and as per normal, sometimes you see a funeral vehicle and you know whats going to happen.

This photo shows the male congregation getting into position for the funeral prayer of someone ( announced as a female ) who had passed away and before her burial a funeral prayer is performed.

It is just after the compulsory Friday Prayer and although it is a working day, and a school day, with mostly people in a rush to go back to work or school, I see many people of all ages from old to young stay back for awhile to join in this funeral prayer. How lucky the deceased.

Jadi, jumaat lepas kan, aku sembahyang jumaat kat Singapura, kat Yishun, masjid darul makmur, aku baru ngah fikir macam gini la lebih kurang - Ya Allah untuk semua orang yang aku sayangi, apa je la kebaikan dorang buat bulan Ramadhan ni, tak kesah la betapa kecik giler atau micro tiny insignificant pun, ko tolonglah kasi pahala banyak2 untuk dorang, beri rahmat kat dorang dunia akhirat, protect dorang all the time siang malam pagi petang yang kat dunia yang kat akhirat, pasal bulan Ramadhan ni memang special abis. Bulan yang mulia.

Then pasal ada sembahyang jenazah kan lepas semayang jemaat, so dalam hati aku, untungnye arwah yang meninggal ni ( diumumkan jenazah perempuan ), ramai orang join in, padahal hari kerja. Budak2 sekolah yang smayang kat tingkat dua aku tengok ramai jugak stay back and join in, ramai doakan lepas semayang jenazah. Dah la hari jumaat, bulan puasa lak tu. Memang rezeki siapapun dia ni.

Terrorizer's Secret History of Thrash Metal - The Definitive Guide magazine

At last this special edition magazine has arrived at the local shops ( at least in Singapore ). You can even find this at Mustafa.
Terrorizer has always been faithful and loyal to the more heavier,faster, extreme kind of music and when they come out with a special on Thrash Metal, I just know I had to get one although its a bit expensive, terkopak siak. Being a Terrorizer release, I guess this magazine people knows what they are talking about - Thrashperts, I like this word in the magazine.

The funny thing is, while reading this magazine, and also listening to the cd, I was surfing ebay.com to check out the cheapest price possible of the " House Of Lords " Live in UK cd. I am targetting the original for very long, but just dont have the cash to spare. I guess I have to forget about it again.
What a tilt to the left and right of the rock/metal music ...and justice for all weighing scale between House Of Lords and Thrash Metal.

The similarity is the music is nice and rocking ( and loud too ), and both are nice and rocking ( and loud too ) in their own ways.

I understand it take a few years to get permission, to plan and to transport the exhibits from China to Singapore. So maybe this is a once in a lifetime experience. I try my best to snap about 150 photos ( which is all at deafeningforever.blogspot ) with all the restrictions in using cameras in this low-light and strictly no-flash environment.

So guys, encourage diri korang dan love ones korang pergi muzium-muzium dan tempat2 sewaktu dengan nye. Muzium ni untuk semua orang, sapa pun, tak kesah sapa korang. Ilmu gini tak kasi aku kerja best, ilmu pergi muzium tak kasi aku gaji best, aku tetap struggle in life, tapi ilmu aku dapat ni untuk perbaiki aku sebagai manusia biasa tu pasal aku very passionate benda2 ni semua dan aku share ngan korang benda2 gini.

Miserable time for me and I think its going to get much much worse, going thru all the London-based fans websites and discussions for these past few weeks. Near to an utter and complete disaster pre-season preparation and team-building except for some bright spots.

Start la balik seluruh musim Arsenal kena long distance dedication yang banyak maki hamun yang penuh kasih sayang dari aku.

Apa pun, banyak2 aku bingit pun aku boikot pun satu dua hari je lepas tu sibuk go thru all the news and discussions boards balik. Tak boleh ah, cam sial pun tetap dah dalam sanubari haha.
Aku masih tak kensel aku punye Arsenal Online subscription, tapi kalo main macam nak mampos jugak first few games dan kena titik ngan Udinese, aku akan kensel. Bahalol kan? carik penyakit sendiri. Hah!! Udinese dah tunggu dah. Demam seminggu ah kalo tak dapat clear ni game.

Why must I bother about the official Mirrorball when...and two other newish titles

Ingat nak upload foto2 Terracotta tu hari, tapi takde mood museum lak. Mood rock tu maintain lak. So…

When I read Def Leppard are finally releasing an official live cd I was very happy. I thought surely I am going to try to get a copy if my pocket permits. But, then I check out the songs appearing on the double CD and I got disappointed. To make it worse, they add three new studio songs and I tried to listen to one and its not so nice to me ( the Queen sounding song ). When I think its better they make it a 100% live album and just add much more live songs, and since the recordings are from a few years back from different places surely they have no problem with that. Anyway, I still try to give the new cd the benefit of the doubt by checking out the samplers on youtube and I don’t find anything special except for the pristine quality recordings. I am crazy for the long Rocket but not on Mirrorball.

But like in most cases, great, good or even low quality fans audience recordings can gives greater satisfaction than fancy official releases.
I was thinking, why oh why they cant release an official live album with this type of superior content and setlist.

This is a super audience recording from a San Francisco show on 14 Dec 2002 on the tour that promotes the X album. We get all their famous and fantastic songs. On this recording they played an 8 minute version of Rocket with a very nice instrumental break in the middle. And Hysteria is perfection.
We also have Women, but more importantly we got two songs which for me is one of the best popular songs that Def Leppard had done since the late 1990s – Long Long Way To Go and Promises. To leave these two songs out of the official cd makes me down really. Also, I really love the song Stagefright very very much. So its a mustIt would be nice if one day I can see Def Leppard live.I grow up listening to their songs and still do. It must have great seeing them with Steve Clark in the 80s. When Vivian Campbell join in the 90s, I was so happy but then thru the years reading about his issues with Ronnie James Dio. I am a bit sad really.

Ooo speaking of Dio and Vivian Campbell, I think Dio Disciples is a brilliant idea with big names- at least if you are a Dio fan that is. A band with the backbone of 3 ex Dio members which coincidently includes my favourite guitarist & also a distintive drummer ever (at least to my ears) in any Dio lineup, and also the one with best hairstyle ever in the 80s ( talking about Craig Goldie of course ), celebrating the life and music of Ronnie James Dio and playing songs from Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Dio. Plus other band members are also popular names in heavy rock/metal music ( James Lomenzo is always loved as a part of White Lion but me seeing him playing with Megadeth few years back was madness haha ) and using 2 singers. I was tracing down a complete full live recordings of them and luckily the Moscow show pop up as in many places Dio Disciples play festivals and thus reduced playing time. I think this is the first ever night of Dio Disciple plays.

Check this out, their setlist in Moscow. Stargazer with the two lead vocals is explosive. and Killing The Dragon is an unexpected surprise and even with mistake is so rocking. Catch The Rainbow Craig Goldie intro is nice too. A super quality recording this one. Now I am keen to find a full show with Doro singing as the Iced Earth singer was not available for some shows. And Doro singing Egypt When The Chains Are On is so suitable if you guys heard her studio version from some tribute cds many years ago.

Lsst but not least, I was also curious about all these news and reports on the internet about Dream Theater and their new/old drummer. So this was really an anticipated bootleg by curious me. I think this is their very first show with the new drummer Mike Mangini. Very very good taping too.

By the time I was listening without much focus and reaching the wonderful song Fatal Tragedy, I suddenly realised Mike Portnoy usually sings backing vocals on this song live right? The " THERE CAN BE NO TURNING BACK! ", Other than that, I hear this bootleg like I listen to Dream Theater official or bootleg recordings of any era - Very Much Enjoyable ONLY if listened occasionally. If Dream Theater comes and play again, I want to go again just to see the new drummer. Ooo they better play Count Of Tuscany. I like the version on this bootleg.

Aku belek2 kat porum, ooo Girl Generation nak perform bulan Feb 2012 kat Singapore tapi akhir bulan Julai 2011 dah announced dari promoter show ni. Jadi nak dekat TUJUH bulan advance notis. Hardcore fans boleh plan awal, mana yang nak budget duit tiket, yang nak kena travel, apa je la. Giler babi beb harga tiket concert untuk Asian acts, Faye Wong lebih S$300 kot front section? tapi if youre a fan apa kan daya selain just do it..Apa pun.. blog kotak ajaib dah ada cerita pasal ni ( bukan cerita girl generation, tapi metallica ).

I understand in Europe its the norm to have big bands being announced the dates and locations and ticket pricing of their shows at least six months in advance. So I guess their fans can make plans and my impression of foreign act shows in Malaysia and Singapore or nearby, and admitting myself as one of them, one of the biggest stumbling block is usually the ticket price structure itself (and that is why I love Fort Canning ) and if you are a hardcore, then the cost of travel which will dramatically increase the amount spent especially if there is a need to take a budget plane.

So speaking of big bands, I think there is maybe a few bigger than Metallica. They have year by year since early 90s drop down on the list of what I consider to be enjoyable to me but the size-of-mass-appeal-wise, they are still arguably the biggest and most popular.

In fact on the Death Magnetic tour, I and a friend was seriously contemplating backpacking to Perth for their two dates there, as we were discussing to at least see Metallica once in our lives, and also because I know there are quite a number of people in Singapore ( and I guess Malaysia ) who save up and travel budget to Australia to catch them, but I have to brush it off as I was saving up for my trip of a lifetime to see Iron Maiden playing three shows across Australia early this year. And yes I am already saving up for the next Maiden England dvd / next history tour. Mumbai is budgetly possible and speaking of India this song pops up in my head - "God I love the sweet taste of India..Lingers on the tip of my tounge " - And some gossip mongers are saying Aerosmith is coming to Singapore, Because they are confirmed in Japan end of this year..

I had missed the 92 Metallica show at Indoor Stadium and still remember being ' mulut terngangah and jakunised' listening to others telling what happened that night. So it would be nice if I can make it this time if I can afford the ticket and time.
So announcements that are as soon as possibly can, is crucial like I say for
**
-people like me and maybe some of you who need to be discipline in budgetting their hard-earned money for a bit of occasional rock moments
-people who may need to travel a bit
-people who may try to find a solution budget-wise to try bring their love ones along to see Metallica because its like an experience to at least see them once in a lifetime.

I was contemplating the timing just now, if really its 2nd Dec in KL then considering San Francisco is behind us in timing but can Metallica possibly finished a show on 2nd Dec in KL and pack up and fly all their huge monster tour equipments to SF and unpack and be ready for the 5th. Must be some super human efforts but hey its Metallica.

ok, pertama sekali aku nak wish semua yang baca ni yang beragama Islam selamat menempuhi bulan Ramadhan ngan mendapat apa2 je la yang baik yang korang mampu kerjakan ikut 'evil dan devine' masing2.
Ada yang aku pergi blog korang ucap selamat berpuasa, ada yang aku tak type kat blog korang, ada yang aku nak type tapi aku tak boleh type ntah apsal ntah for example - blog wan beruas. So korang cek la blog korang, ada kot yang pangkah nick aku kot.

Tu hari aku run satu errand kat satu masjid ni, tak payah cakap la kat masjid mana kat negara Msia atau Spore.
Aku masuk pejabat, pegawai tu yang bertugas pandang aku kejap terus buat bodoh pandang komputer dia.
Aku kasi salam kat pintu la, dia jawab tapi tak pandang aku pandang komputer dia.
So aku pergi kat ngan dia, aku tetap diri.
Dia tengok aku, tak senyum pun, so aku diri je la, tak heran la aku tak dapat duduk pun, so dia then cakap " duduk ".
Then dia pandang komputer lagi, lepas tu dia keluar dari mulut dia " nombor IC ", so aku kasi la, dan segala proses tu dia tak senyum langsung...dan aku rasa,
dia sebagai anak abu lagik, is a horrible disgrace, tapi mungkin kat aku je la dia layan cam gitu kot...biasalah aku pun dressing tshirt jeans selipar je. Aku tak expect layan best tapi basic courtesy, dan aku rasa dia memang fail.
nak tak nak layan dan basically rude and arrogant, dan kira cam siol la perangai...
padahal ngan jubah bagai, ngan logo authority kat jubah dia...

Aku was like, first time dalam hidup aku jumpa pegawai cam gini punya anggek.. tapi takpelah dia pegawai, wa takdebenda. So ok la dia berlagak gitu , obvious rabak punye UNFRIENDLY.

Cuma, dia adalah dalam posisi yang terbaik untuk menunjukkan dan mengiklankan budi bicara seseorang muslim yang sedang bertugas dan berpakaian melambangkan tugasnya dalam bidang keagamaan.

Pada aku rugi besar la perangai cam gitu...

Tapi aku terfikir balik , mungkin kat pintu tu dia dah nampak aku, dia nampak atas kepala aku ada SETAN BESAR kot? ye la, I am not exactly an angel ye tak.

Tapi walaupun dia nampak kat atas kepala aku ada Setan Besar pun, that is not an excuse nak berlagak dan perangai yang piss me off. Tapi aku cubalah cakap lembut dan hormat kat dia sebagai pegawai agama, dah la aku kat kawasan masjid, bulan posa lagik. Lantak dia la nak perangai cam mana cuma RUGI la pada aku dia perangai cam gitu.

So to all, bulan Ramadhan ni, tak yah rabak2 nak lebih2 sombong atau berlagak la, just endure a bit, smile, tolerate, give an example of a proper way to behave in public and at work especially dealing with public, cakap ngan terang dan bukan cara kurang ajar especially terang2 orang tu ialah lebih tua dan jangan anggek. Be Humble and show humility whoever you are.

Aku harap masa aku bayar zakat fitrah kat mana2 masjid di Spore dan KL nanti, aku takkan jumpa perangai pegawai/staff cam gini lagi, tapi aku konfiden dorang mesti gerek pasal aku selalu every year borak2 ngan amil2 zakat fitrah kejap. Ye la dorang pun mesti boring kan duk je kat meja haha

paling meriah sekali ngan bendera dan banners dan kain rentang...
baik kat Malaysia dan baik kat Singapore
berlumba2 kat dua2 negara ni dari bangunan kerajaan, bangunan pejabat, rumah flet, sampai construction site tapak pembinaan, gantung bendera dan apa je la unuk sambut merdeka/hari kebangsaan/national day/independence day and whatever la korang nak panggil masing2.

Ni aku snap tadi pasal aku turun LRT kat Masjid Jamek nak gi Masjid Negara jalan kaki. Ooo siang2 dah gantung. Cantik ler, tourist tersnap2 gambo...

Apa pun, Singapore akan sambut dahulu 9 Ogos before Malaysia sambut 31 Ogos.

Like Bruce Dickinson says ' these colors dont run! ".

Aku tahu la bulan Ramadhan pun belum mula tapi aku dah start dengar lagu raya. Ini sikit ulasan cd baru keluar ni yang bernama Eid Tulus Ikhlas ngan pembelian korang memberi sokongan kat TAA dan Piala Dollah Kassim.

Cover album ok la, mass appeal, pasal lagu raya kot so memang tak nampak sangat rock dia.

A bit song by song. Kena ingat semua lagu tema raya, bermaaf2an, beraman2an, berinsaf2an, berkunjung2an, benda2 yang condong ke arah kebaikan la kira. Tapi tetap rock.

“V” – Salam Untuk Semua
- Spanish guitar / flamenco influenced sey...terkejut siak, tapi pleasant surprise gitu, aku dah dengar ni first song je kan, aku terus konfiden ni cd best punye.

Scyan – Bersamalah Beraya
- Catchy giler lagu ni. Apsal aku teringat Journey? pasal sedap dan melodic kot.

Empire – Raya Yang Sepi
- Peringatan ni EMPIRE, sila tolong jangan confuse ngan band Ali ex XPDC yang tu ialah MPIRE, Ejaan tak sama, takde E kat depan. Tak mau pasal korang dengar orang sebut EMPIRE korang ingat Ali XPDC MPIRE dan korang kurenggg sikit lak. Lagu Slow rock huhu.

Opurzit Youth – Hari Mulia
- Lagu rancak sey. Aku suka, ialah dah memang aku suka lagu rock. Time changes tukar2 slow laju lagu ni ingatkan aku kat Maiden. Suara penyanyi dia pun rock abis.

Kozmet – Selamat Berhari Raya
- lagu ni awek yang nyanyi ok. Rancak. DJ Radio suka la main lagu gini. Lagu penuh raya spirit, tapi tetap rock.

Nalo – Kenangan Di Pagi Raya
Slow rock, aku dengar lagu ni terus pergi tengok lirik kat cd booklet dia. Aku terdiam kejap. Bukan kejap pun...actually lama jugak...sedih siak wa. Serious berbual woi. Mencengkam Sanubari beb.

Nightraid – Raya
Rancak.. happening gitu.

Wet Appetite – Sudah Tiba Masa
Intro....walaowei!! stadium rock siak. Grand abis lagu ni.

Rancour – Oi! Raya Oi!
Best giler lagu ni , happening abis. Lirik dia humourous.. aku tak bleh tahan kul 3 pagi kat bazaar tu...lepas tu balik nak gi semayang raya.

Antologi – Nostalgia Di Hari Raya
Ooo another song with great time changes.
Start dia jangan sangka air tenang takde buaya nye lagu..
I like this song very much.

OK, serious berbual, this is a great cd. Korang beli tak rugi, korang pun bleh jadi geng baik ngan beramal kat TAA dan Piala Dollah Kassim.
Kalo aku kerja dj radio aku akan mainkan lagu ni, kalo aku keja reporter aku akan tulis pasal cd ni, kalo aku berbual2 ngan kawan2 aku akan cakap pasal cd ni, kalo aku buat majlis perjumpaan hari raya kat balai rakyat yang korang zaman budak2 dulu pergi main dikir barat dapat makan free tu - aku akan main cd ni.

What a waste kalo korang tak dapat dengar lagu2 raya ni ngan positive lyrical content...anyway they are new fresh songs...takkan lagu sepasang kurungan biru ngan lagu seri hari raya je setiap tahun kan dan kalo korang rock fan, kalo tak selalu pun , sesekali support local rock bands ngan keluar duit sikit dan beli cd dorang, dan kalo korang tak pernah dengar atau tengok band2 ni, this is your chance.
