pen pal and Angra and...

I used to have pen friends or some called it pen pals from a few places long time ago.
There was one from Argentina. Love to read how he have to travel from his home to go to the big city to see Maiden. I think I still kept photos that he sent of himself on his Maiden adventures. Yes, its the time where you still have to develop photos and send by snail mail.

We used to sent each other stuffs and letters, him much more than me. I got much more great things than I ever gave him. He was nice. This was before I even knew Ebay existed haha.
So he got for me stuffs like the quite rare Maiden's Lord Of The Fly single, he knew I adore Rainbow, so he got me some Rainbow, and he loves Angra, so he got me an Angra cd.
If he knew about this post, I hope he will contact me, because I lost track of him, for whatever reasons.

I treasure this cd, and I took it out and rip it the other day.
Angra - FREEDOM CALL EP.
Featuring Freedom Call, Reaching Horizons, different mixes of Queen Of The Night, Deep Blue, Painkiller ( Judas Priest cover ) and the fascinating Stand Away.
Plus two acoustics live in FNAC Paris France.
Angel Cry on acoustic is king of awesomeness and also Never Understand.
Very very nice selection of songs on this EP and the two live songs is unique what with accordians and improvisations.


Angra in a way is like Sepultura, not only I think they are two of the most famous worldwide Brazil bands, but they seems to add in their Brazillian influences and melodies too.
Their lyrics is sometimes about spritual, environmental message, saving nature, freedom. Very deep.

I used to know of Angra as the band that has Andre Matos.
It has always been rumoured Andre Matos is one of those shortlisted to replace Bruce Dickinson in Maiden, but we know its always going to be a British for the job and the final two was Blaze Bailey and Doogie White.
Doogie White if you all remember is the singer for the Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow Stranger In Us All, and he was the singer when Yngwie J Malmsteen's Rising Force first time play here at the Pavillion Expo. The night he kept telling they are doing a live recording for us to make lots of noise haha. That was a fun night especially when " I Am A Viking " was played.
Doogie White is the singer for the new Michael Schenker live release isnt it?
I am so going to get the complete set of the new Michael Schenker release, because it has the Scorpions rhythm section that I enjoyed when I grow up . And its going to have Anananananananother Piece Of Meat..


So then Andre Matos left Angra,
and he was in Shaman.
So I remember I downloaded the Shaman album back then.. I remember we were using DC++ program. I think now all these are no more? This is such a brilliant program back then to share stuffs..
Its like ok, Maiden plays in Saitama? Dance Of Death Tour? And within a short time, the audience videotape -dvdr is shared and viewed all over the world. The whole world knows one of Nicko Mcbrain's drum got damaged, and while changing Nicko and Bruce acts a re-enactment of William Tell. But, not many people knows of this program then I guess. Now we got youtube, not much fun being a fan as before.

And suddenly there was this so fuckin awesome song called Fairytale. Its like ok, this is the most beautiful melody I heard for a long time haha.
Andre Matos is so talented, he is a fabulous singer, he write songs, he plays the piano, accordian and he is so handsomely good looking haha. Its a wonder he isnt more well-know. Same like Daniel Heiman ex-Lost Horizon. One of the best heavy metal singer and band I ever heard on cd.

The Brazilians crowd are always so happening, and I was looking at this and was imagining if Andre Matos was in Maiden, and how it will be.

But then Andre Matos left Shaman and I think now he is back to his original band Viper or something?
Nowadays is not so much a worry to access his music due to youtube. Though with youtube, not much bands cd will be sold haha.

TOTO minefields 1999

I was walking and 'onboardpublictransporting' to Minefields after so long, so I want to talk cock about it and Toto in this blog.

Listening to people talking or reading  about talented brilliant musicianship, great songwriting and live performances, some band names pop up often.
Watching Mr Big and Dream Theater play live is awesome..
But watching TOTO play live is beyond imagination, I have heard and read how stupendously good TOTO is, I know their studio albums are wonderful journeys but seeing them playing live, it was more a jaw-gapping occasion really.
- Wikipedia has a good description of TOTO - "Toto is known for a musical style that combines elements of pop, rock, soul, funk, progressive rock, hard rock, R&B and jazz." PAKALIAO.


I dont know which member to look at,. And song after song played, a setlist that mostly is familiar and especially some songs that are very close to my heart. Unfortunately with the number of popular songs they have, you may end up cursing if they dont play some songs that you really love.

TOTO is a type of band that if given the opportunity I will watch everytime, but they dont seems to play much over this region. The only band that I can only say I try to catch every tour within these last twelve years?, if they play in Singapore or Malaysia that is, is Deep Purple. But of course when we talk Deep Purple, there is none a band like them ever.
 - Anyway I am so excited as not only Journey is coming confirmed under LAMC, but Lushington is bringing in Deep Purple to Singapore 2013 again with an unannouced date yet. Deep Purple is coming out with a new album soon so I guess WE WILL HEAR NEW SONGS!! and please please play Wasted Sunset.

Anyway, TOTO how many regular members do they have all thru the years?
And if you includes their live support band members and occasional band members. TOTO has their own tragic moments, death of their super drummer ( but replaced with Simon Philips who is awesome ), medical conditions of others, band problems
But I dont think it matters, collectively TOTO is fantastic always.
- Doesnt matter if its two guitars or one, two keyboards or one, who the lead singer is for that tour, or with male and female backing singers, who the bassist is, or the drummer has one or two drum sets for the night ha, and even who sang Africa live.

MINEFIELDS,

This is one of their more famous studio albums anyway, MINEFIELDS year 1999. This is the album with Bobby Kimball joining back as singer.
- So you have all type of songs, , but all good ones. A Musical journey.
I listen and wonder, how these group of people can make such wonderful and entertaining music.

My most favourites songs must be After You've Gone, Last Love, Mad About You, One Road, Melanie, Cruel, Better World, Caught In The Balance of course... So thats a lot of songs ha.

One irritation, when I rip the cd, the tracks is automatically labelled as per the sequence of US release. So it means the songs and the automatic titled tracks does not tally. So its kind of misleading , so you have to relabel yourself. This was a problem with Kiss Elder too. Because again different tracklist for US and rest of the world.

So there are some very popular TOTO albums, in between great songs from other albums of course.
Some people will say TOTO IV, yes...of course that has superb songs,
some say SEVENTH ONE with another lead vocals fronting,
for me, I sentimentally like their first album very much haha.

Hopefully TOTO will come again...to Singapore & Malaysia. The last time was 2006 2007.

This is a live video of Caught In The Balance ( a popular song from this Minefield album ) in 2007 Paris, this is the long tour to promote their then new album then which they also play live in Singapore and Malaysia on this tour. I remember they did Spore in 2006 and come back to KL for 2007. Bassist was different for Spore show, but other than than that its the same musicians for this tour.
I think as of right now the present TOTO, Bobby Kimball is not in, but its Joseph Williams from Seventh One album,? And David Pairch is back? and a Porcaro family is back also? Got to check on it.
Clearly age is so catching up especially for the singers from different albums.

And what are their ages now...and they are still so entertaining, although they have to share around the singing that makes it even better. Steve Lukather, great guitars, great singing..awesome. Anyway Michael Jackson's  Beat it - Steve Lukather all guitars except Eddie Van Halen guitar solo isnt it?

Ohh anyway, if I am not wrong this video location is Zenith Paris??....OOOO another day dream of mine, to see Maiden play at this place. I heard this is a wonderful awesome memorable place to see Maiden play live? hahaha.

walking dead - season one just COMPLETED ( pathetic sey )

Aku tahu, dah basi pun musim pertama ceta zomba ni, bukan Usin hero, tapi mat salleh, musim pertama ditayangkan kalau sapa ada cable tv ialah tahun 2010 gitu, sapa pakai channel per (percuma), 2011 kot dorang main?
Tapi aku selalu tertinggal bas, jadi baru abis menengok season 1.  Cuma 6 episode je pun aku susah nak game.
Ntah bila aku nak tangkap season 2, padahal apa aku tahu season 3 dah nak abis pun kat siaran. Tak kesah la, pelan2 kayuh.
Tapi aku tak suka la dah best2 kanchong giler cerita ni penuh suspens dan mengejutkan dan tunjukkan betapa manusia sedaya upaya nak hidup, ngan ada ngan family dan budak2,  dan jugak ngan special effect best2 dan exciting, tiba2 terselit romen2 cium2 nye adegan tu semua. Aku tahu memang sikit sangat adegan gini, tapi aku tak mau langsung kat series ni. Kalo aku jadi director, sapa romen2 kat tv series ni je terus kena serang hendap dan kena makan ngan zombie2 ni, jangan kasi chance, Hero ke heroin ke rasain korang, bleh ganti ngan hero baru. Kasi giler babi nye kejam kena makan hidup2 , bijik mata semua kena korek kena kunyah.. nyummm nyummm. Siot je kan. Tapi satu best cerita ni, ok la yang komik version memang mengejutkan la tiap2 edisi, tapi untuk tv series ni, takde pelakon2 pun tahu sama ada watak dorang ada lagi tak lagi satu episode pasal memang senang2 watak2 penting, hero, heroin pun anaje je boleh dimatikan anytime. Tu la best.
Tapi season one, Shane jantan kaberet tu belum kena lagi kan?
dekni kadang2 ok, tapi kadang2 selenger bacin.

I had read the Walking Dead comics, not in sequence, as and when I found them in the National Library branches, so its not really something new when watching the season one of the tv series. Yes pathetic, I just completed season one, at the end of 2012.



The storyline is similar, not exactly the same.
- Daryl is not in the original comic series, but he's cool with his bow and arrow, just like the violent more uncute  version than Legolas ha., so is his RACIST brother. Really enjoyed their scenes. I understand the comic version will introduce this Daryl character? I dont know. I havent seen the few latest ones in the national library branches. 
- Really love the make-up. So where is Scott Ian from Anthrax? I think he's somewhere in one of the episode. Certainly he will die a glorious brutal Zombie death.
- The tv series really make the comic comes alive, although I always think the comic version is so much better in displaying gore, brutality, evilness.
- I hope I got time to get and watch season 2 and 3. Cant wait for the Governor. Cant wait how much sadist and pervert he will be on the tv series. But at the speed I'm viewing maybe it will take me in 2014 to catch season 3 onwards hah.

- But season one was really spectacular for me, I think this series deserves more money for even fancier special effects, I hope there will be more special effects like WOrld War Z. I jsaw the one or two minutes preview of World War Z, and I love it....Its going  to be wicked and the zombies are super fast,  it looks like they are going to be faster, more furious   and intelligent than  than 28 days/weeks ones. Fuck Awesome. How the fuck they know how to scale that wall which is whaT? 10 STOREY HIGH?? Super strength fast crazies.

Iron Maiden sold out ni Friends Arena untuk 2013 show dalam sehari kot 50,000 tiket.

Jadi mungkin tak boleh dapat full effect cam suasana gelap atau tertutup.
