Helloween -Sweet Seductions (3cd+1dvd) Japanese Only release - review/ulasan/photos...

Salam and Hello to everyone. As usual a short review/ulasan and photos show-off for those who wants to see the packaging in English and then in Bahasa Melayu Malay Language.

The photos will be to the end of the post.

Helloween's Sweet Seduction boxset total 4 discs (3cd + 1dvd) released only for the Japan market on 1st November 2017 and I got it on the exact day as they mailed it out much earlier.

It was reported that the selection of the songs for the 3 cds are voted by Helloween Japanese fans.

The cutesy Obi Strip for this release.

So below photo you get two seperate booklets, 
one are informations and colour artworks in English,
the other one is a black and white for the Japanese stories and lyrics.

So you got fast songs, slow songs, mid tempo songs, exciting songs and boring songs packaged in a simply Pretty box with Cute booklets and inlets like only the Japanese knows how to do it.

I like the Kai Hansen / Michael Kiske era albums but when it comes to Andi Deris era its hit and misses.

Some albums of Andi Deris era I do not really like and have no interest in listening again, but some like Straight to Hell are simply for me one of their best.
Maybe I will revisit some Helloween albums and like them better next time.

Or maybe its just I prefer Helloween when they are making happy music? I dont know.

But if you are a fan of Helloween or constant listener of Helloween, this so called "Japanese fans Best Of Helloween" boxset will please you.

You ask 10 Helloween fans to choose their favourite songs to fill up 3 cds, and surely you got 10 completely different selections.
I for one would cramp more Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske singing, and I would definitely drop King For A 1000 Years and replaced it with Keeper of Seven Keys as the 13 minutes epic to fill up the 3 cds.

So you have 
46 songs on 3 cds and 21 music videos on one dvd.

All songs are only from Helloween's studio albums so the breakdown is

4 songs from Keepers Part 1
5 songs from Keepers Part 2
2 songs from Pink Bubbles

3 songs from Master of the Ring

2 more songs are also from the special edition of God Given Right but never released in Japan before so for the Japanese fans its like a 2 new songs introduction.

Meanwhile ,
The 21 songs that appears on the dvd are video clips that are quite different from the selections of songs on the cds, so you will have songs like Forever and One, and Light The Universe which never appears on the cds.

So basically this is a very well thought out packaged and songs selections for the 4 discs if you like Helloween.

Hi Semua, apa khabar...

Apa nak cerita pasal Helloween, korang samada suka atau tak suka...

ni pun apa aku tahu adalah koleksi lagu Helloween dari semua zaman dari Walls Of Jericho sampai God Given Right,
yang khabarnya diundi peminat mereka di Jepun untuk rilisan istimewa Jepun ni.

ada 46 lagu dalam 3 cd, ada 21 lagu dalam sekeping dvd.

Senarai dia tak sama untuk cd dan dvd, jadi memang berbaloi la, banyak lagu berlainan dalam format berlainan, memang seronok.
Cuma aku tahu bila aku nak tengok bahagian dvd dia, mungkin tak tengok terus... aku rip je cd ni letak dalam walkman aku dan dengar masa jalan kaki dan dalam public transport.. 
takde la nak dengar atau nak tengok kat rumah....

Jadi macam aku cakap kat atas kat cakap omputeh tu, satu cd tu lagu2 zaman Kai Hansen nyanyi dan Michael Kiske nyanyi.
lagi 2 cd semua lagu zaman Andi Deris.

Aku ada muslihat sikit zaman Andi Deris, contoh macam lagu "Are You Metal " , aku macam... nak tido siot. Punya la boring..

"Are You Metal?"..  apa siak?  no.. aku kat kerja suka cerita ngan kawan yang minat Depeche Mode, dengar pandangan dia dan analisa dia pasal DM. haha.
So aku konfem tak metal. haha.
Walau aku punya cita2... ialah Depeche Mode headline Hellfest satu malam, dan malam lagi satu Maiden.
Ohh ye, Hellfest tiket dahbis, aku ada yo-yo-oh ingat nak gi lagi pasal gossip kat tenet banyak cakap Maiden akan headline macam 2014, tapi belum announce lagik tapi puaka tiket dah bis... Dulu tak macam ni, sekarang Hellfest makin popular kot dan Hellfest ni kecik...
dalam 45,000 je tak macam Donington aku rasa 100,000 tiket pun dorang boleh jual setiap hari nye event.
Aku suka Hellfest, sapa nak gi backpack tengok festival rock omputeh dengan macam2 band aneka ragam, Hellfest is alright even korang gi sorang. Kul 2 pagi last band korang tak mau camping, korang boleh balik bandar Nantes, siap ada kedai2 halal masih operasi kat bandar tu boleh makan2.. tapi besok nya first band main kul 11 pagi jangan tak bangun..  haha.


Apa pun, raya tahun depan ialah 14 Jun. Bulan puasa start 14 May.
Apa pun... gigih menabung untuk backpacking 2018 Legacy of the Beast Tour, tapi nampaknya tour ni ialah untuk Eropah saje.
Ceritanya Maiden dah tempah studio sama yang rakam BNW dan TBOS bulan feb tahun depan.
Jadi, rasanya akhir tahun depan ialah rilisan album studio mungkin yang terakhir.
Ni semua biasa la gossip dan khabar angin peminat2 tapi kadang2 khabar angin tu possible betul ye tak?
Dan 2011 tahun baru cina dah lama kan?
jadi aku speku 2019 punya tahun baru cina, Maiden main rantau ni.
pasal dorang tentu nak lari dari kesejukkan benua mereka tinggal, so gi la main rock konsert kat Asia ke Australia ke South America hapa ke yang panas sikit, sambil buat duit.
apa pun, 
ni semua angan2 mat jenin je la kan..

tapi lepas album tu seven sinners yang ada Are You Metal kebabai tu, yang keluar lepas tu Straight Out Of Hell, aku mungkin pilih album ni sebagai antara terbaik atau terbaik dalam sejarah Helloween...
Apa aku tahu ni album dorang main kat Indon kot? entah.. aku ada dengar bootlegs rakaman di Jepun masa tour album ni, dashyat giler persembahan dan pilihan lagu2 dalam konsert untuk promote Straight Out Of Hell.

lepas tu keluar paling last tu, yang kulit album gambar salji tu God Given Right , aku dengar sikit kat internet... lagu2 dari album tersebut...
sedap la jugak, tapi malas nak dengar lagi sekali...

Tapi macam aku cakap.. mungkin lain kali dengar balik dan cukupkan korum Helloween aku..

so zaman Andi Deris ni aku ada sikit masalah sikit ada album suka ada langsung switch off,
zaman Kiske, Chameelon pun aku suka...
haha...

ohh yeah.... last Helloween datang main ialah tahun 2005, so aku speku Pumpkin United harapnya beraksi di Singapore/Malaysia ye tak?
Tentu boleh jual tiket kerana semua pun ada, dan lagu2 dalam setlist pun lagu2 pop hits mereka ramai yang suka.

Aku rasa ni koleksi sangat best la...

GHOST Meliora "REDUX" - (2cd with Zenith & Popestar EP)

LETS GIVE METALLICA A REST FOR NEW ALBUM AND START OF THEIR NEW ALBUM TOUR IN ASIA JANUARY 2017. (I think this is the best album since ...ajfa so I pre-ordered the triple cds version, (and I am going to get the digital versions at midnite of release LOL!!).

finally the conclusion to my intended Ghost trilogy postings.
Lets take a look at Meliora their 3rd studio album.
lets specifically take a look at MELIORA REDUX and I show the full packaging for those who have not seen it especially the artworks. Seems this time not so controversial unlike the artworks for the second albums inlets where printing companies are not wanting to print the inner booklet and such.

As usual I will talk cock in English first, and then talk cock in Malay Language Bahasa Melayu later.
As usual I try to make the contents slightly different so its good to know both languages, albeit the street market uneducated vulgar incoherent versions. LOL!!

Meliora Redux content are two cds.

- the first cd is the Meliora album PLUS the song ZENITH. Meliora was released in 2015 originally.
As we all know Zenith is very difficult to find on any official CD pressing. So on Meliora Redux at last we can the song Zenith on an official CD for Ghost fans who wants an original physical copy.

- the second cd is the POPESTAR EP. Containing one newer Ghost song and 4 cover versions.

With this Redux release, I can safely say possibly MELIORA is the second best rock album of 2015 behind Maiden's Book Of Soul.

A short review.

-Meliora is a consistent album with great songs from start to finish. Pinnacle to the Pit, Mummy Dust are heavy like fuck, and MAJESTY is simply a MAJESTIC song with a MAJESTICAL intro.

-He Is, is like the slow rock song of the year. LOL!
And all the songs are great, no need to skip any song on listening.

and of course the first single from Meliora - Cirice is still an unknown meaning. Seems its an old word for a church? LOL!!

-While POPESTAR, Square Hammer is a very catchy song, addictive happy song with an addictive chorus and the 4 covers songs, with the known name of Eurythmics and Echo and Bunnymen, its the other two songs called I BELIEVE and BIBLE which are astounding.
One thing about Ghost, they play great cover versions of unknown songs from unknown bands that really are beautiful.

-Meliora seems has the change of singer from the elder PAPA EMERITUS II to the younger sibling PAPA EMERITUS III.
I dont bother really, for me its just the same singer but with a gimmick. If its a different singer is also not a problem for me. I love the music from the band. I have no issues with whatever they want to do or change as long as the music are fabulous.

-Unlike previous albums, MELIORA is not an album with straight-forward lyrics of GROUPIES praising and worshipping Satan, and everyone in the Devil family.
This time around, the lyrics are more discreet. But you know, HE IS there on all songs.

I wonder if HE IS, would be a popular Wedding Dedication, or a male Family member dedication song. LOL!
"We're Standing here by the abyss, and the world is in flames,
two star-crossed lovers reaching out, to the BEAST with many names"

Simply one of the better romantic songs these past few years. Unfortunately it being from Ghost.
DEF LEPPARD should sang it, and change the lyrics a bit.
LOL!!

Meliora is a heavy album.
Incredible catchy chorus for all songs on this album.
A straight forward heavy rock album with not as much variety as the previous two albums. I think this was their plan although they use a Pop Producer who had never produced a rock or metal album before.

With the inclusion of Zenith on this album for Redux, I think it makes this album even better as Zenith is simply a superb song though a bit out of place with the style of other songs.

I was supposed to catch GHOST play after the release of this album in Donington Download Festival 2016.
It was a chance for me to see them play this album song live.
It was supposed to be a SUPER SUNDAY last day  of a supposedly heavily "METAL ELITIST" 2016 bands lineup happiness which piss-off other type of rock music fans, LOL!!,
with the 3RD STAGE OF consecutive GOJIRA, ELECTRIC WIZARD, GHOST and SAXON before all will shift to the Main Stage to watch IRON MAIDEN.
Unfortunately GHOST Cancelled. Seems a Virus going around the band.
I am not aware of it, I just seems odd the timetable for Stage 3 are going late and I realised something is going very wrong.

So I didnt wait around after Electric Wizard and Gojira played and I went to catch NIGHTWISH with their amazing new singer, and hang around for about an hour for the Main Stage to be prepared for the Headliners Maiden.

Anyway, I think Donington 2017 wont be called a "Metal Elitist" favouritism, though seems surprisingly SLAYER has been reserved and confirmed.
I thought SLAYER will never play Donington under the Download Festival name? LOL!!
A big problem with the Promoter or something.

But it will be fun, and though I am not going to Donington 2017, it would be nice to see where Slayer is slotted. I think Stage 3 under the circus tent as the last band at night would be amazing.

So thats about it, right at bottom I will link youtubes.. but right now is the packaging of MELIORA REDUX continued from top I had shown some of the photos already.

If you are thinking of getting Meliora or Popestar EP, buy it, but if you can get Zenith the song officially on a cd or vinyl, that would even be better.

OK OK tapi kalau boss macam setan, hahhhh Sesuai sangat la tu HE IS.

Anyway HE IS ni lagu ni Ghost dapat siapkan lepas kematian salah satu kawan mereka kat band apa tu? aku lupa lak masa menaip ni, yang mengaku Satanist kemudian bunuh diri.
Tapi entah eh, nama yang bunuh diri tu , dan nama adik pompuan dia macam nama2 kita je la orang2 MIM.
Takpelah cerita pun dah jadi ye tak.

OK Memang kalau korang tengok 2015 nye penobatan (CEWAHHH!!! MELAYU AKU STUPENDOUS SIOT) senarai album2 rock terbaik, Meliora ni ada kala jatuh nombor dua, dibelakang album Iron Maiden Book Of Soul.

Memang terbaik dari ladang album ni untuk telinga aku, cuma tu jam baru keluar heran takde Zenith. Tapi lepas tu Zenith timbul kat salah satu cetakan piring hitam.

So nasib baik keluar Meliora Redux yang campur sekali dengan mini-album EP Popestar.

Terus terang aku cakap beli la album2 Meliora dan Popestar ni. Terbaik dari ladang.

Aku sepatutnya nak tengok GHOST kali kedua kat Donington 2016, teruja pasal konfem dorang akan main lagu2 dari album MELIORA ni la, pasal memang susah nak tengok GHOST cam aku cakap aku sekali je dapat tengok dorang tu pun dorang opening band untuk Iron Maiden kat Serbia 2014 masa aku backpacking.

Tapi malangnya, kat Donington , kugiran GHOST kena serang virus, dan terpaksa tarik diri.
Dan aku tak tahu cuma,
bila aku dah la kelemasan penuh sesak beribu2 kat pentas ketiga pasal kat luar hujan tak berenti abis tu dah jadi bah lumpur teruk, ramai orang masuk pentas ketiga selamatkan diri pasal pentas ketiga ialah ada bumbung khemah gergasi,

abis tu pulak hari Ahad, hari Iron Maiden headline jadi memang hari paling banyak tiket jual dan about 90 ribu la kot, walau pasal suasana huru hara berapa ribu tak dapat masuk tapak festival pasal huru hara..
tapi SHOW MUST GO ON, EXCEPT GHOST GOT THE VIRUS AND CANCEL.

Aku heran, apasal Gojira dan Electric Wizard start main lambat dah tu main seret?

Babi la, Ghost cancel... haha, terus fikir.... lepas Gojira dan Eletric Wizard tunggu Saxon set up aku terus pergi tengok Nightwish kat pentas utama, lepas tu tenggelam dalam lumpur sampai buku lali tunggu Iron Maiden setup main headlining act... WOO HOO!!!

Korang tengok cammana la 2016 tak kena maki dengan peminat2 genre rock lain yang panggil 2016 Donington Metal Elitist nye lineup haha.

TU la.... Takde nasib tengok Ghost lagi sekali, pasal ni kali aku dah ready, dah hafal lirik sikit2 kat korus, boleh singalong ye tak? hahaah.

Ohh yeah, Donington 2017 dah umum beberapa band, dan headliners dan confirm untuk tiga2 malam kat pentas utama.
Maknanya gossip aku kongsi tu hari silap, GNR dan Metallica dua2 tak main la kat Donington 2017. Nampaknya Download Festival nye organiser dah siap sedia untuk masa depan muzik rock.

Dorang akan letak pelapis2 rock anak muda hari ni yang akan jadi rock band utama masa depan dengan letakkan band2 muda kat Donington 2017 kat taraf atas.
kecuali Aerosmith dan SLAYER.
Tahun 2016, peminat2 muzik rock yang kurang condong ke arah Metal sangat tak berpuas hati dengan organiser Download Festival, pasal memang Donington 2016 memang digelar METAL ELITIST nye senarai band. Banyak band rock yang main heavy dan laju seperti mana kita minat.

Siap Megadeth lagi boleh announce si Dave Mustaine atas pentas cakap OK, organiser kasi Megadeth main tambahan satu lagu lagik, so Dave Mustaine panggil Nikki Sixx sama2 bawak lagu ANARCHY IN UK, mesti bengkak je kan peminat2 rock genre lain. haha...

Donington 2017 , dah start umum beberapa band, alahai... SENDU betul band2 tu kebanyakkan pada aku. Tapi banyak band anak muda, dorang dah start ready untuk zaman depan nye Rock pasal banyak band rock dan metal yang kita minat semua samada dah nak berhenti main, atau dah bersara atau dah mati.

Apapun,

Yes, akhirnya SLAYER kembali ke Donington 2017 baru diumumkan. Teringin ok aku nak tengok SLAYER kat Donington. Mesti huru-hara nak nak kalau hujan lebat, hujan tak berenti dan semua keadaan dah banjir lumpur pekat.
Sejak Download Festival takeover Donington ni memang masalah dengan beberapa band rock seperti SLAYER
.
CONTOH-
Bukan sahaja band rock terulung seperti SLAYER je ada masalah, tapi sama dengan SCORPIONS dan TWISTED SISTER juga.
Band2 ni mungkin ingat dorang boleh dapat bayaran tinggi, dan dapat slot permainan yang prestij.

Tapi pada ketua Download Festival, dia tak anggap gitu, contoh Scorpions nak main Donington bawah jenama Download Festival tapi cuma diberi peluang headline Pentas Kedua sahaja, begitu jugak Twisted Sister nak slot utama, tapi mana boleh, kat Donington dorang macam band sendu, jadi bayaran kurang dan slot pun takde glamer mana.

Macam pertama kali aku gi Donington, UFO main kul 11 pagi ok, 11 pagi giler ke hapa, aku pagi2 buta2 dah keluar dari Derby tempat aku tidur naik bas gi Donington.
Tahun ni aku gi backpack lagi, SIAL BETUL, AMON AMARTH kena main kul tengahari. GILER KAN!!!!!
Langsung takde pedulik siak organiser.
Padahal kat festival2 muzik rock lain, band2 ni dapat slot utama dan bayaran tinggi.

Korang tengok cam Bloodstock 2017, Amon Amarth headliner hari jumaat.
Ni satu festival aku cakap sesuai kalau korang nak tengok band rock kegemaran korang main, dia kat kawasan Derbyshire,
dan tak ramai orang, lagi kecik dari Hellfest pun.
Tiap2 tahun dahsyat2 band2 yang main kat Bloodstock ni, ni satu festival aku betul2 teruja nak backpack pergi tengok... tapi aku belum research betul2 ada bas keluar masuk kat tapak festival ni ke mana2 pekan atau bandar pasal mati hidup balik, aku tak mau camping sorang2...

Anyway,

Jadi Slayer ni balik ke Donington lepas sekian lama mesti gempak.
Tahun ni Megadeth was out of this world main lagu2 baru Dystopia album, jadi tak tahu apa kemungkinan tahun depan.
Walau aku ada baca gossip ni kali terakhir SLAYER akan main festival di UK. maknanya, kalau kali terakhir mungkin ada sesuatu belakang curtain tentang hal perihal Slayer ni ye tak.

So tu je la, aku dah terkeluar ring berbual kon pasal lain pulak.

So sila beli... meh dengar... album MELIORA, lagu Zenith dan album EP POPESTAR.

dan jugak awek ni perform lagu HE IS. haha.

Anthem - Prologue Live Boxx 2

[This post, lets talk cock about the Japanese awesome band, Anthem - As usual I will talk-cock the intro a bit in bazaar market Malay Language, then I will talk cock in broken English on some other things on the later part.]

Hi semua.. Nari nak cerita pasal satu boxset Anthem yang untuk aku memang susah giler nak dapatkan. Aku "damn" boxset ni dah bertahun jugak. Cetakan ni cuma 5000 keping ke 2000 aku dah lupa, masalahnya memang ada orang jual kat ebay tapi harga mahal nak mampos.
(Prolougue Boxx 1 beratus siot harga sekarang kat internet. Anthem ada niche mereka sendiri dalam kalangan pendengar muzik satu dunia. Aku tahu pasal aku tengok orang2 klik posting2 aku pasal Anthem dari negara2 pelik2 jauh2. Serious berbual makin aku ambik tahu pasal kumpulan Anthem, aku rasa dorang sangat ISTIMEWA dan GEMILANG walaupun aku ada feberet era2 zaman2 berlainan Anthem yang aku lebih minat.)
Sambung balik pasal BOXX 2 ni yang aku carik original nye murah2 nye dah bertahun ni, usaha tangga kejayaan, dan akhirnya aku dapat satu yang aku speku dah secondhand, tapi kondisi nye terbaik. Very Very Very Good near Mint la.

Ini dia ANTHEM PROLOUGE LIVE BOXX 2.

Intro sikit...

Seperti sedia maklum, aku rasa terserlah kat blog ni betapa aku minat giler kat kumpulan ANTHEM. Dan dalam banyak2 formasi silih berganti kumpulan ANTHEM.
All-time Line up favourite aku ialah bila ANTHEM terdiri dari Vocal: Eizo Sakamoto (pasal untuk halwa telinga aku bila Eizo nyanyi untuk ANTHEM, kumpulan ni semakin heavy nak mampos pasal untuk aku suara Eizo ni 'unpredictable dan wild dan gila babi', tak macam Yukio Morikawa yang lebih 'controlled' (ni pada halwa telinga aku la..). Yukio dan Eizo ni dah keluar masuk Anthem dah dua kali untuk kedua2nya (musical chair), dan sekarang ni Yukio lagi sekali menjadi penyanyi Anthem. Apa aku tahu, Eizo ni ada masalah kesihatan.

Untuk Guitarist of course bila aku mula minat mendalam ANTHEM dan bukan2 dengar gitu je, selama tu la Akio Shimizu jadi guitarist dorang so dalam banyak2 guitarist ANTHEM aku minat dekni la.
Dan bassist, of course ketua ANTHEM, song writer ANTHEM, producer ANTHEM, STEVE HARRIS untuk kumpulan ANTHEM - Naoto Shibata.
Drummer, ok aku tak cerewet, walau Hirotsugu Homma nampaknya dah tak main lagi dengan ANTHEM sejak blue-ray rakaman live Unbroken tu keluar, tu jam apa aku baca dia kemalangan.
Sekarang dah berapa tahun dan termasuk album studio, dorang pakai drummer Isamu Namaru.

Dan boxset Prologue Live Boxx 2 ni menampilkan Eizo, Akio dan Naoto dan Homma, mereka main live in full kat dewan nama Shibuya Boxx (jadi pasal tu Boxx tu ada dua XX ye tak? pasal nama tempat rakaman),
- Mereka mainkan dua album studio Anthem Gypsy Ways (keluar tahun 1988) dan album studio Hunting Time (keluar tahun 1989).
- Dua2 album ni rakaman studio tahun 1988 dan 1989 dulu cuma ada Naoto Shibata je. Vokalis ialah Yukio, guitarist ialah Hiroya Fukuda dan drummer Takamasa Chuchi sewaktu rakaman studio masa dulu tu.

Sebelum aku akhiri berbual kons dalam bahasa Melayu Pasar versi aku ni,

aku cuma nak cakap, kat youtube memang susah nak dapatkan bahan2 Anthem, seems ada orang yang ambil tindakan dan block atau lenyapkan audio dari apa2 persembahan kumpulan Anthem. Selalunya kat youtube banyak Anthem tu semua cover bands LOL!!!

Some photos and short review of how the ANTHEM - PROLOGUE LIVE BOXX 2 looks like.

Mine is number 00923. 
The packaging is very well done and looks and feels durable and very high quality. 
The booklet inside is about 24 pages thick, full colour of Anthem members photos in action and at the dressing room, with members from the year 2010.

As we know right now 2016 January only Akio and of course Naoto is still around right now. Eizo Sakamoto has left (again), and Yukio Morikawa is back in (again) for the vocals.

Boxx 2 contains the fulL GYPSY WAYS and HUNTING TIME recorded by the then year 2010 line up at SHIBUYA BOXX on 25 February 2010 for Gypsy Ways and 26 February 2010 for Hunting Time.
As known, the original studio album from the late 80s did not feature Eizo (Yukio sang on these both studi albums), Akio and Homma.

THIS LIVE VERSIONS ARE SIMPLY INCREDIBLE TO MY EARS. SO MUCH ENERGY AND HEAVY.

The news is Iron Maiden is playing Beijing and Shanghai in April 2016 I forgot the exact dates..

Waiting for the Chinese Goverment approval or something...

I am sure a sample submission of a setlist will be scrutinized.. 

I guess this really means Iron Maiden has really mean it that it will be CHINA / JAPAN and straight to New Zealand and Australia...

I guess really... No Singapore and Malaysia show for this tour and all hopes seems lost now.... 

Well... Singapore got Madonna in February...  So I guess a fair sacrifice. Madonna for Maiden. LOL!!!

The tickets are fuckin expensive for the Madonna show...

Now imagine if she performs Frozen and I did not go? LOL!!!

I was imagining a best of Madonna setlist that I would dream, and I got some headaches.. too many songs I really like...

Comparison of SAVATAGE' EDGE OF THORNS - JAPAN PRESSING with 2 bonus tracks CD & ULTIMATE BOXSET CD versions

WARNING - LOTS OF PHOTOS. I say a few words in English Language, and then Malay Language.

SAVATAGE'S EDGE OF THORNS ALBUM IS AMAZING - From the first to the last song.

THERE ARE A FEW WONDERFUL SONGS, AND THERE ARE SOME EXTRA-ORDINARY GREAT SONGS, AND THERE ARE SOME SONGS THAT JUST MAKES YOU THANKFUL THAT YOU ARE A FAN OF THIS BAND.

This is not exactly a review, but a detailed page by page comparison, especially the text and packaging of both Savatage Edge Of Thorns Japanese pressings cd which originally was the only place to locate the songs FOREVER AFTER and SHOTGUN INNOCENCE.

Both these songs later appear on the Western pressings of Savatage compilations and another pressing of Edge Of Thorns.

Whats interesting is that the Edge of Thorns version that comes as one of the album on the SAVATAGE ULTIMATE BOXSET (my one is number 1412) has some fascinating in depth stories of Savatage during the Edge Of Thorns period. The recording sessions, the new face Zachary Stevens, Jon Oliva officially not in the band anymore and playing piano for the album, and also the death of Criss Oliva..

So this is it, a detailed photos-laden post on the Japanese Obi-strip with 2 extra songs and the digipak from the limited edition 1500 Ultimate Boxset with the amazing inlet booklet which detailed everything from that period. ENJOY

Selain Iron Maiden, lagi satu band rock yang aku suka sangat ialah kumpulan SAVATAGE.

Jadi pasal aku cuba nak pelan2 tunjukkan setiap inti packaging setiap album Savatage dalam Ultimate Boxset mereka, 

aku tukar haluan sikit pasal untuk Edge Of Thorns ni, versi cetakan Jepun memang paling istimewa, siap dengan 2 lagu, yang waktu tu tak boleh dapat kat mana2 lain.

Aku tak bedek la, ni album sangat terbaik...dari lagu rancak, ke lagu slow, dan macam2 style lagu..

Album ni

1) Jon Oliva mula2 kesihatan tak elok, dan dia pun tahu, untuk kasi peluang Savatage nye lagu2 dikenali lebih ramai, lagu2 Savatage dimainkan di corong radio stesen Amerika, suara dia tak sesuai, dan jugak Savatage ada masalah kontrak ngan syarikat rakaman, jadi Jon Oliva tolong tulis lagu, ada lagu dia dipaksa oleh Criss Oliva untuk digunakan kat album ni.... dan Jon main piano/keyboards.

2) Zachary Stevens nye album pertama dan suara dia... suara dia untuk Edge Of Thorns tu, aku rasalah takde orang lain boleh nyanyi lagu ni. Jon pun cerita kat packaging ultimate edition, dia cipta lagu ni, tapi lagu ni hanya Zachary Stevens sesuai...

3) Criss Oliva, album ni tujuan untuk letak Criss Oliva kat paling depan ngan permainan gitar nye... Tuan Tanah Blog Berteromber suka la Criss Oliva ni...
Antara paling terhandal la kan Mendiang Criss Oliva ni..
Apa tu ditulis pasal Criss Oliva tak silap oleh producer Savatage ialah - Orang lain bersusah payah prektis main gitar untuk jadi lebih baik, tapi Criss Oliva tak payah, dia memang dah semula jadi gitu...

4) Criss Oliva... mati eksiden lepas album ni dan tour album ni.

5) Dawn Oliva.... isteri Criss. Dikatakan wanita kat sampul depan album ni ialah dia.

6) Dawn Oliva.... dia selamat masa eksiden kereta orang lain mabuk memandu, masuk salah lane bertentangan dan langgar kereta dorang.

7) Dawn Oliva... dia lepas tu ada masalah kemurungan gitu. Last2... dorang jumpa dia mati bunuh diri berapa tahun lepas tu...

Jadi...album ni sangat terbaik setiap lagunye...

dan jugak album ni paling tragik.
