Rainbow Strangers In Us All (japanese version cd) & Black Masquerade (japanese version dvd + 2cd) - review/ulasan

As usual firstly in my Bahasa Melayu Pasar and then in my Broken English.

I decide to now blog on some album I love and the accompanying live albums/dvds that was recorded on that specific album tour, together in one post.

So lets start with Rainbow, the band I listened to all my life,  and I got the opportunity to be there on their first show in 20 years in Loreley Germany 17th June 2016/ One of my greatest experience backpacking to see my favourite bands ever. Its lovingly blogged somewhere here 4 years ago.

(above Left)
Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow Strangers in Us All (CD)
Released - 21st August 1995

(above right)
Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow Black Masquerade (DVD + 2CD)
Recorded Live in Dusseldorf for Rockpalast TV show on 9th October 1995

Album kelapan Rainbow. Suka tak suka, Rainbow ialah Ritchie Blackmore nye band 100%. Bukan macam Deep Purple dimana dia hanya 1/5 sahaja.
Telan je la apa yang best pasal Rainbow, dan kalau tak suka, buat bodoh sua.

Lepas dia gaduh lagi ngan Ian Gillan dan mengamuk dan buat perangai, pasal Ritchie Blackmore ni angin satu badan,
akhirnya dia keluar Deep Purple akhir 1993 dan teringin nak buat album solo tapi akhinya menggunakan moniker Rainbow lagi sekali ngan vokalis Doogie White.
Doogie White ni sebelum tu tahun akhir 1993-1994 memang gossip banyak dia adalah " Runners Up" untuk isi tempat kosong penyanyi Iron Maiden bila Bruce keluar. Posisi tu diisi Blaze Bailey akhirnya.
Jadi yang untung ialah Ritchie Blackmore la.

Dan Doogie White ni kemudiannya jadi vokalis Yngwie Malmsteen Rising Force bila Rainbow ni berpecah lagi sekali pasal Ritchie Blackmore dan isterinya Candice Night nak buat band main lagu muzik medieval dan renaissance dengan band Blackmore's Night. Aku serious rekemen korang semua dengar album pertama mereka Shadow Of The Moon.
Memang ribut la penonton, siap ada lagu I Am The Viking lagik. haha. Kenangan.

Ronnie James Dio dan Cozy Powell dah mati, Ritchie ni degil sangat nak reunion line up Rainbow Rising album sampai dah mati tu dua.

Lagi sekali aku nak cakap Cozy Powell mati pasal berbual kat telepon eh masa driving kat hiway. So hati2 eh...  Aku paling minat band line up Rainbow Rising ni la... aku rasa secara band lineup, aku lagi minat Rainbow Rising nye lineup dari apa2 line up Iron Maiden.
Dahsyat kan pengakuan aku? Tapi serious aku minat giler Rainbow. Tak pedulik apa la, janji ada moniker band RAINBOW.
Aku paling tak boleh lupa bila pertama kali Ritchie guna nama band Rainbow selepas 20 tahun untuk main show kat atas bukit Loreley di Jarman,
memang dari satu dunia la peminat, orang Jepun ramai, dan aku nampak satu lelaki angkat sepanduk " IRAN LOVES RITCHIE BLACKMORE !! ".
memang malam tu satu dunia la fans Rainbow datang. Kenangan manis sangat.

Wolf To The Moon, Hunting Humans (Insatiable), ARIEL (Candice backing vocals baik studio atau live),  Too Late For Tears (ni memang style Rainbow zaman 80an macam lagu2 Cant Happened Here), Black Masquerade, Hall of The Mountain King ( lagu klasik Jarman ke hapa tu... digubah ikut selera Ritchie Blackmore), Still I'm Sad dirakam lagi sekali dan kali ni ada vokals, tak macam album pertama instrumental.

So kira bapak best la.

Strangers In Us All, what an album, yes some songs are just not memorable, or makes you want to listen to them again.

It is understandable Ritchie and Candice Night shifted to Medieval Renaissance music after this album with the new band Blackmore's Night, and probably there will never be another Rainbow album, so this makes a nice closure.
When in 2016 Rainbow moniker was used again after 20 years, with an all new line up (as Ritchie always like to make numerous changes), I backpacked alone to Saint Goar and spend 4 days to catch Rainbow in the classical magical Loreley hills..
It was memorable, as a few days before I saw ACDC and of course what else? Iron Maiden. LOL!!

Back to this album,
Easily at least 80% of the album is superb, exciting, thrilling for me.
I have near a unique song like Hunting Human...
Hall of The Mountain King , the Orchestral Music of the 1800s, and adapted well by Ritchie.
Of course Ariel...
I cannot imagine if Jon Lord and the rest of Deep Purple had got their hands on this Ariel song.
Wolf To The Moon, Black Masquerade...
what an album, but like I say, its not perfect but its still has many magical moments.

Anyway the Japanese version of the CD has an extra song, Emotional Crime.
and the packaging includes an extra booklet, with a nice message from Ritchie for his Japanese fans

So its not too late to try to listen to this album.
NEXT THE LIVE ALBUM AND DVD that was recorded to support this studio effort.

Paling best DVD dan 2cd ialah lebih 2 jam.
Puas hati la kan layan persembahan Rainbow...
bassist nya... Greg Smith... wah diri depan showmanship dan backing vocals..
keyboardist nye.. memang la aku minat ngan Rainbow nye keyboardist2.. Toni Carey, Don Airey...
drummer tak yah cakap la kan, sapa pun drummer Rainbow..
penyanyi suara sedap...
penyanyi backing isteri Ritchie kan, si Candice Night
dan of course, tak lain tak bukan... Kamera video lama je fokus kat Ritchie Blackmore.. seronok sangat... takde tukar2 video nye kamera cepat2, relak lama je fokus kat Ritchie... dia gentel , dia solo dia apa je la...
Rakaman di Jarman.. biasalah Jarman minat rok kan...

Kelakar nye ada satu part... mereka main lagu Smoke On The Water...
bila penonton kena nyanyi...
suara sendu gitu....
" smoke on the water !!! fire in the sky !! ".
terus vokalis sound " SING FOR RITCHIE BLACKMORE !!!!! "
terus
" SMOKE ON THE WATER!!!!!!!! FIRE IN THE SKY !!!!!!!!! "
hahaha..

semua lagu la hebat... baik lagu2 baru dari album Strangers in Us All, baik lagu2 Rainbow lama, baik lagu2 Deep Purple....
Markah penuh. Puas hati.

So I cannot have enough praise for this Japanese version Black Masquerade of Rainbow live in Dusseldorf for Germany Rock TV show Rockpalast in 1995 to support the release of Strangers in Us All studio album.

Its over 2 hours
The video camera footages is not rushed, it lingers so long on each musician...
Even the keyboardist has lots of footages...
superb performances by everyone, so entertaining, even Candice Night for her Ariel moment.
And of course, if you love Ritchie Blackmore, no complains on this release.
Lots of him, the video cameras stays long on him....
I think at this time he is late 40s , reaching 50.
Still on fire !!!!!

New songs from the studio album.
Old Rainbow songs
Old Deep Purple songs.

No complaints. Full Marks. Class release. Both the dvd and the two cd sets.

So thats about it...

maybe next round, I will blog Razors Edge and ACDC Live 2cd. The live album that was recorded when ACDC did the Razors Edge tour.
Another blockbuster studio and live albums combination of the same era.

Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW Live In Germany Memories In Rock - Japanese Pressing Blue Ray + 2cd (with additional songs Japan version only)

Assalamualaikum and Greetings Everyone
Wherever you are.

I hope this will be a short post but knowing me, I will stray completely out of topic usually LOL!.
As usual first in my broken uneducated incoherent English Language followed by my market-street-lingo style  Bahasa Melayu Pasar Malay Language.
I will try to have different contents, so its good to know both languages. LOL!!

Much has been talked by me in this blog, as I was at the first night Loreley Germany show.

The fireworks was amazing during Smoke On The Water in Loreley.
A photo of that situation is at the back of the booklet of the version packaging that I have.

My review of the first night in LORELEY for you who have not read it and the photos of the first night show in an amazing place, with and amazing performance and fans coming from all over the world is here plus opening bands is linked here.

I also add some info on how I managed to get to Loreley and spent a few days besides the Rhine River at Sank Goar and exploring villages and towns along the fearsome river.

http://deaf-angel.blogspot.sg/2016/06/warning-as-usual-my-blog-is-written-in.html

Anything and everything else Deep Purple/Rainbow related , boxsets, deluxe released, magazines, Japanese pressings and whatever is all under this label..
http://deaf-angel.blogspot.my/search/label/deep%20purple%20and%20rainbow%20family%20tree

Anyway, this are some photos from the packaging.
The Japanese Pressings of the Blue Ray + 2cd versions besides having additional songs also have as usual a Obi Strip and also another booklet in white which has Japanese texts and also on the seperate Japanese booklet contains all the SETLISTS for the three nights that Rainbow 2016 version played - LORELEY, STUTTGART and also BIRMINGHAM. That means 2 nights in Germany and 1 night in England.
The Japanese booklet looks interesting but sorry, I have no idea at all what is printed.

Anyway, Rainbow of the year 2016.
Probably the very final Rainbow lineup ever.

And I will say again and again. This is a Ritchie Blackmore band. He do as he pleases all his career and he won't start pleasing anyone now.

He can choose who he likes, and who are we all to complain and be bitter about it just like Joe Lynn Turner? Well, at least Joe Lynn Turner is a somebody. LOL!!

So I will just roughly says what I like about this release, and whats the special about the Japanese Pressings of this release.

So as can be seen,

All the video footages and audios only come from the Monsters Of Rock events of Loreley and Stuttgart.
Bietigheim Bissingen is the actual place, but then I discover its at Stuttgart so lets call it Stuttgart.
Stuttgart being a famous Bundesliga football club, so its easier for identification and familiarisation process.

THE CONTENT
The Confusion that causes me to decide to go for the better content Japanese Version is -
The Blue Ray that I have has this footage as the intro showing the River Rhine and vicinity of Loreley
Pomp & Circumstances (Loreley)

The blue ray and audio cds have the exact following just for a start because then it becomes complicated -
Over The Rainbow & Highway Star (Loreley)
Spotlight Kid (Stuttgart)
Mistreated (Stuttgart)
16th Century Greensleeves (Stuttgart)
Since You Been Gone (Stuttgart)
Man On The Silver Mountain (Loreley)
Catch The Rainbow (Loreley)
Difficult To Cure (Loreley)

Perfect Strangers (Stuttgart)
Stargazer (Loreley)

Long Live RnR (Stuttgart)
Child In Time (Stuttgart)
Black Night  (Stuttgart)
Smoke On The Water (Stuttgart)

- In addition I think all pressings has a Bonus of
Spotlight Kid (Loreley)
Man On The Silver Mountain (Stuttgart)

Long Live RnR (Loreley)
Stargazer (Stuttgart)

and this where the difference start
the Japanese pressings of the blue ray and cds
have additional of following
Since You Been Gone (Loreley)
Catch The Rainbow (Stuttgart)

So its really a good value for money..

buts Its very confusing really everytime Japanese Pressing has this extras on any rock or metal band releases.

More photos

- The video is beautifully shot, with lots of very nice angles especially of Loreley and the Rhine River vicinity...
- Lots of different angles that I like
- Every band member is fairly featured in the videos and have close ups shots and also enough time on the videos for us to enjoy their playing and touches.
- The Drummer is wearing a Depeche Mode tshirt for the 2nd night in Stuttgart I realise on watching the blue-ray.
Now this is someone with great taste. (I am so excited for the new release of DM).

- nice shots of the audience showing lots of people of different age groups which is awesome..
- the sound is superb, I like what I hear too.
- Ronnie James Dio \m/    \m/ sign is seen alot during the shows of course.
As long as Rock and Metal music is alive, his hand sign will go on and on, on and on...

- As expected of a Ritchie Blackmore band, (being it Deep Purple or Rainbow),
in just two nights of back to back shows of their very first two ever shows together and there are plenty of variations and improvisations to please the fans of these two bands.

So its a really value for money to purchase these official releases.
And for those who were there a wonderful momento.

I am so pleased to hear the performance and variations of the second night, and especially Stuttgart has an extra song of 16th Century Greensleeves, which has Ritchie Blackmore wandering of to a another dimension.

After all these slaggings from the internet critics who did not attend the events but has so much garbage to throw at the Rainbow 2016 and Ritchie himself,
I watch the video, and I still find happy people, happy singalong fans in the audience, exactly like I was there,
I never see any unhappy faces, I never hear any Booing when I was there, and again just look at the videos everyone was clapping and having a good time

and yet on the internet, quite a few very bitter people who keep slagging of RB and his band, even the choice of songs..
And please its incredible people are slagging a 71 year old man with Arthritis problem, who just had a finger operation before the Loreley show, who had not played these rock songs for 20 years, and had choosen a completely new band with an unknown singer,  and surely the whole world knows what to expect once the drummer and bassist for the new lineup is announced, and his words he just want to play some rock music,  and on their first two shows ever.

I think respect would be nice after all the happiness that he had brought to us all with Deep Purple, Rainbow, Blackmore's Night and also all the family tree that leads from the first two bands into Whitesnake and Dio and whatever other bands and musicians.

I mean, people have to stop being bitter in life. Please.
A reminder to myself this one and to all you
bitching fuckers out there.

Just enjoy the moment because nothing last forever. Even Ritchie Blackmore.

And Lets see how good you are when you are 71. LOL!!
Maybe you cannot even stand up. So there.
Its weird because if you want a RB of your dreams, you can always have your music collection or memories.

Thats all, if I get the photobook version of this release, I will show it in this blog also.

Lastly some snapshots I took while watching the video...

awesome shots of Loreley mountain top with the Rhine River besides it and awesome ships passing thru..
I stayed at the small tiny town/village opposite called Sank Goar. SUPERB place for travelling and backpacking and exploring this section of the Rhine River.

Ok la apa aku nak cakap aku dah cakap...

Mesti gempak ok Joey Belladona masuk kumpulan Journey.

contoh macam Catch The Rainbow, dua2 malam pun terbaik..
dan Stargazer terutama malam Loreley, cam aku cakap kat blog post aku dulu...
Dreams Come True untuk aku...
pasal malam tu Stargazer nye ending sebijik cammana aku nak... tak berhenti, diteruskan diteruskan diteruskan.......

rasa macam ok, segalanya worth it.

Dia kalau buat persembahan tambahan tahun 2017 dengan gunakan nama RAINBOW, aku speku dia akan main sepenuhnya lagu2 Rainbow sahaja.
dan tentu KILL THE KING akan berkumandang buat kali terakhir.

Walau aku tak konfiden Rainbow sekarang ni akan bawak Light In The Black..

ITU METALLICA JE BOLEH BAWAK SEKARANG...
.... HAHAHAHAHA

OK THATS ALL.

18th November- Metallica & Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow keluarkan new releases - I still don't have the hardcopies of the releases, but still I can talk about them...

Salam semua pembaca sekelian,
Kita tinggalkan rock melayu dengan Sweet Charity dan kembali ke rock omputeh, kasi aku cakap Omputeh versi Pecah Rumah dulu, then aku berbual cakap Melayu Pasar k.

Hi All,
I ordered the new Metallica thru Metallica.com and while waiting for the cds to arrive ( I choose the cheapest general mail option so it will be slow.. LOL!!),
I am entitled to the Digital Download version too on the 18th November.
So yesterday, its a Sunday, I was going to work on public transport, on board the subway train, its the first I begin listening to the album properly. (USING HEADPHONES).
.
.
.
.
.
.

I nearly got a nervous breakdown listening to the first six songs of this album. I know its supposed to be good, but I didn't anticipate it would be this amazing.
By the surprising time changes of the 6th song... Halo On Fire. I was on fire.

I stopped listening. I dont want the thrill of excitment spoiled the rest of the listening.
Till today.. I had only listen to the first Eight Songs. LOL!!!

I will do so probably later. My proper first time listening is usually by Headphones, and when I am on the public bus, or the trains. So I can focus. LOL!!

So maybe this new album Hardwired To Self-Destruct could be my favourite album by Metallica. Maybe I rate it as the best Metallica album.

Its not groundbreaking, I am duly reminded of stuffs like Leper Messiah and such, but I love it.

I have no problems with Nostalgia.. I mean I enjoy Maiden's History Tours, but I always like the bands I like to be fresh and refresh , and continuously thrilling, and making new music and playing new music.
If the bands I like are afraid to play new music just because the fans ask for the old, then the new songs will never be a classic.

And I do not want the bands I like to become a cabaret act, and keep recycling the same old and same old..
BLACK SABBATH really have a failed opportunity on this their final tour. No 13 songs.
Yes, I like the old songs, yes, most of the times, I do know the lyrics to sing along too...at least the chorus, but at least one or two newest songs would make it fresh but alas, no.

I hope Metallica plays the WHOLE album LIVE (because I think the first 8 songs I had listen to properly, are all awesome and I am sure the rest are equal)when they come to Singapore in January and I hope to be there.

I will talk more the next time, when I got the physical cds.

Next,

On the same day 18th November, RITCHIE BLACKMORE'S RAINBOW LIVE IN GERMANY was released.
I am trying to get the Japanese Version as due to the extra songs, and also the Photo Book. LOL!!

I kind of indulged myself as I was at the show in Loreley, the first night.

There is this sample out, ITS LORELEY footage for THE MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN.

I am standing somewhere in front section Man In Black side. LOL!!

Amazing camera angles, its really worth it for me to backpack by myself to this place, its bloody awesome, and an amazing experience to travel by trains and ferry with the only German word I know is "danker" and see these spectacular Loreley / Sank Goar/ Sank Goarhausen, especially its the Muslim Month of RAMADHAN. Something very memorable for me.

Check out all the Ronnie James Dio sign  \m/   \m/   after the solos and till the end of the songs by the audience and the this Ronnie Romero guy.

And let me say again, Man In Black is 71 Years Old, He never played rock and these songs for nearly 20 years, he is suffering from that bone problem Arithris or something, he just had a finger operation on his left hand,
AND in advance he announced the drummer and bassist..

AND still you all think it will be a heavy metal or heavy rock presentation?

Please continue to daydream of the Late Great Cozy Powell or Ian Paice ok?

My review was here...
http://deaf-angel.blogspot.sg/2016/06/warning-as-usual-my-blog-is-written-in.html

Thanks to the 2000 people (from all over the world) who had click this review from all over the world,
It kinds of gives me find funny as I never link my blog or posting or promoting it and you all still found it thru google or words of mouth.

I kind of want to revamp this blog, and yes, I owe a gentleman the SCORPIONS SINGAPORE bootleg... LOL!!. I try to get it done, I was talking on the bootleg, and its horrible, so I kind of edit my talking and my voice. LOL!!

I WILL review the Japanese Pressings and the Photo book once I got them.

Thats all...
Belinda Carlisle Still Rules

Hi Semua, sekarang kita tukar cenel tiga pulak.

OK, so aku start dengar Metallica cuma hari Ahad je...

Aku ada la tengok sikit yang Mayhem nye video clip tu tapi aku takde time nak mendangok depan Youtube tengok satu2 video. Lagipun aku tak minat.
Aku suka dengar lagu bukan tengok, pasal aku orang zaman dulu. Muzik is guna telinga.

OK...

So hari Ahad, aku gi kerja, so aku start dengar, dalam keretapi.. Pasang Headphone...

MAKKAO!!!!!

Aku cakap nak pekik dalam MRT " MAKKAO!!! METALLICA BARU GEREK NAK MAMPOS!!"

Lepas lagu ke enam aku stop dengar, tadi aku jalan kaki gi kedai, aku pasang dengar lagu dua lagu pakai headphone.
Aku dah dengar semua 8 lagu gerek nak mampos..

Time changes Halo On Fire.... DAHSYAT................... Aku sudah sangkut.

.
.
.

Man On The Silver Mountain.
Cantikkan??
Live Video ni nanti banyak dari Stuttgart nye show, tapi Loreley pun ada la...
Aku highly rekemen sapa nak backpack, atau nak travel, korang gi kawasan SUNGAI RHINE ni... Gagah perkasa sungai ni.. dan tempat2 dia, kampung2 dia semua lawa...

Ada kadang2 show kat Loreley ni.. so aku highly rekemen.

Korang tengok video bila Ronnie Romero tanya " Whos the Man On The Mountain ",
Semua buat DIO nye SIGN..

Yang Metallica pun aku beli tiket paling murah kan? Tapi tetap tiket sebelah kanan jugak...

HAHA, Kirk Hammett, aku kureng la bassist tu buat kangkang2 macam gorilla... ahha... Rob Trujilo eh nama dia kan? HAHAHA.. Tapi dia dahsyat ye album ni...

And please la..... kalau aku kasi Middle Finger adakah aku maki??

Yes, Omputeh Middle Finger tu maki ye kot? Tapi mungkin melayu kalau middle finger tu mungkin apa khabar??

Melayu ok Melayu...

Tapi kalau aku buat ni \m/  \m/   adakah aku sembah Setan?

Britney Spears pun nak jadi rock, so biarlah dia buat jugak.

.

OK Nanti sambung...

Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW 17 June 2016 @ Loreley Germany. (full report and photos plus the opening bands)

***(Warning - as usual my blog is written in a chaotic unorganised way. I dont really planned or re-checked it after typing, Sorry but hope you enjoy it)***

This is my observation, review, photos and report on Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow 2016 lineup first ever show in Loreley Freilichtbuehre Germany.
Firday 17 June 2016.

- RAINBOW plays from about 9 to 10.50PM

opening acts for this Monsters of Rock show were
-Thin Lizzy Anniversary Show All Star Band plays from about 5.30 to 6.40PM
-Manfred Mann's Earth Band plays from 7.20 to 8.20PM

Loreley being on top of a mountain besides the Rhine River in the vicinity of Sankt Goar and Sankt Goahausen is Not exactly an easy place to access and leave for an outsider not familiar at all with the envirronment,
But surely its a spectacular AWESOME open air location on top of a hill with meaningful classical, historical importance to the Germans.

The stage is remiscent of the mid 70s Rainbow across the stage.

This band means so much to me that I cancelled to see more Iron Maiden shows in europe around Donington's period and switch my backpacking alone thousands of km from home for the one and only Rainbow.

The band that amazed me since my childhood living in a village in South East Asia long long ago and certainly thousands and thousands of kilometres away from rocking Europe.
Basically Temple of The King lyrics was my way of learning English as a small kid.

So spending money, travelling to unknown places, is more of me paying tribute to  Ritchie Blackmore and his contributions. to the world of music that we all love in the past, present and future.

My first view of Loreley Open Air location for music performances.
simply incredible and its on top of the mountain besides the huge , big, wide, long never ending, powerful, scary Rhine River.

People by 4PM was all standing up on the stone seats thats on the Loreley concert area.
simply a marvellous historical place, and it seems that wherever you stand or in other cases when everyone seats, you should get a view of the stage.
By later its all crazily crowded.
squeezed tight. RAINBOW FANS ALL TURNED UP OLD AND YOUNG AND IN BETWEEN , MEN AND WOMEN.

Ok - definitely whatever Ronnie Romero has to say or his style of perfoming as a Rainbow fronttman MUST HAVE THE BLESSING OF HIS MASTER - RITCHIE BLACKMORE.
on the song Man On The Silver Mountain, Ronnie Romero asked the audience "do you know who's the man on the mountain?".
The answer according to Ronie Romero is "RONNIE DIO IS THE MAN ON THE MOUNTAIN."
the way I see it, this is Ritchie Blackmore's approved tribute to Ronnie James Dio. Maybe this is as close as ever the man in black shows his affection for Ronnie James Dio.

Ok.
the setlist as the way I look at it.
I bootlegged the show by the way on audio as usual.

1. Usual classical music I dont know the title.
2. Somewhere Over The Rainbow (Band kicks in)
3. HIGHWAY STAR
4. SPOTLIGHT KID
5. MISTREATED
6. SINCE YOU BEEN GONE
7. MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN
8. CATCH THE RAINBOW
9. DIFFICULT TO CURE (Ritchie exit to leave a Bass/Drum/Keyboards Jam).
10. PERFECT STRANGERS
11. CHILD IN TIME (Ritchie plays few seconds of WOMAN FROM TOKYO near ending).
12. LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL (audience thought its going to be Black Night and sings the tune till Romero says its for later)
13. STARGAZER (infinity ending....it goes on forever.. yes dreams come true).
14. BLACK NIGHT
15. SMOKE ON THE WATER

My Observations...

- people from all over  the world, personally I chat with two seperate pairs of Scotland fans and two seperate pairs of Japanese.
- Chile flags all over. Romero mention Spanish fans. I think Ukraine fans were shouting out their country's name.
- an "Iran loves Ritchie Blackmore" was raised somewhere that I saw.
If IRAN is Represented, basically the whole world surely would have been there. LOL.

- Ronnie informs he called Ritchie "master". Ritchie occasionally approaches Romero to whisper or correct things or just confuses Romero up.
I think its the usual Ritchie PRANKS to wind up the occasion.
there was a part where Romero announce the setlist was rearrange, but then they did continue with Catch The Rainbow,
Ritchie was already bringing the setlist paper and have an on stage discussion on the next song to play with Romero.
besides that, Ritchie does come up to Romero when Romero was addressing the audience and kind of winds up Romero.

but all in good fun... LOL.

Ronnie Romero for me, when he talks he reminds me of Klaus Meine. But when he sings of course the Ronnie James Dio similarity cannot be avoided. But theres only one Ronnie and its always Ronnie James Dio.

he really can sing.
He reminds me of what it would be like if Ronnie James Dio had sung Spotlight Kid insteads of joe Lynn Turner.
I think the whole night, there was only one hesitation that i think Romero was in, after the solo of Smoke On The Water.
He did brilliantly this guy.
RITCHIE SHIULD RECORD A RAINBOW ALBUM, I MEAN A STUDIO ALBUM, WITH THIS CURRENT BAND.

-Jens Johansson is a Dio band member alumni  so no issues there, LOL.
-Bob Noveau is amazing, and really is the best dresser for the evenjng.
-David Keith drum set up is I think humble for the headliner especially when JUDAS PRIEST SCOTT TRAVIS played with Thin Lizzy earlier. LoL.

(And please, dont expect a Cozy Powell or a Ian Paice clone or copycat.)

This is how Ritchie Blackmore wants it to be. So let it be. Just thankful Ritchie is playing rock again and its simply magical evening just to be in the audience.

THE SOUND WAS BRILLIANT THE WHOLE NIGHT.
-the crew members keep going up on stage before the show starts to make adjustments on the instruments and equipments.

Candice Night is there. Backing vocals...
i think her partner was named Christina or something.

Ritchie Blackmore can talk. LOL.
HE HIMSELF SAYS HE JUST LEARN HOW TO TALK,
I did not know Ritchie can talk on stage?
he was introducing ROMERO after Romero had introduced other band members.

Romero earlier during band introductions called the Bassist a NOBODY but the coolest guy ever.

At the final song, which Rainbow plays their usual style before it ends up rocking this time, the start of SOTW has a loud fireworks display.

Now, Most important ,
The songs...

-Child In Time was a tour de force. About 10mins long
-Difficult To Cure was a 13 minute extra ordinary performance like I say inclusive of the above mentioned Jam.
-Stargazer was like infinity ending, Romero did not sings " my eyes are bleeding,.." other than that its just like my dream of how Stargazer should be live really comes true.

7 Rainbow songs of which 4 origins with Ronnie James Dio, one each from Graham Bonnet and Joe Lynn Turner era, and an instrumental.
6 songs from Deep purple.

NO BURN,
NO KILL THE KING.

But over 100 minutes of Ritchie Blackmore using the moniker Rainbow, playing Rainbow and Deep purple songs. Never thought this day could ever happen but it.

********Enough Ritchie and the band improvisations and guitar extended solos to make it extra special evening...

And certainly thats what the fans want.

As usual people on the internet will bitch about the setlist, will bitch about everything.
but its ok. The fans who are there, those around me seems happy.

Imagine if the band stays together and does more shows and rehearsals together. They will be so much more awesome.

One of the great moments of rock history this one, Ritchie blackmore have his old band name come again although with new musicians.

More photos ..

Jamming part by Bassist, keyboardist and drummer minus Ritchie during Difficult To cure Beethoven song.

+×+×+×+× Lets switch attention awhile to the opening acts before we go back to RAINBOW,

Now the opening bands.
Manfred Mann's & Earth Band.
I dont know
ow what to expect but they are skilled professionals.

In case annyone wondering, Manfed Mann is the player on the keyboards.
the band is superb, some beautiful songs.

Deifinitely a band I want to check out. Some superb instrumental sections of songs too.

+×+×+×+× next... another opening act before I continue about Rainbow

THIN LIZZY or

BLACK STAR RIDERS WITH AEROSMITH WITH JUDAS PRIEST ALL STARS.

Scott Gorham is a Thin Lizzy member and so is the keyboards player.
Ricky Warwick is another Black Star Riders member, ex Almighty and a Northern Ireland born. So he kinds of fit Phil Lynott style.

The 2nd guitarist Damon Johnson is also a BSR.
And remember Black Star Riders only got its name after Scott Gorham wants to records new songs with the current lineup of Thin Lizzy.

Add to that Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton
plus Scott Travis of Judas Priest.
Its supposed to be Mickey Dee from Motorhead as the posters display to advertise  the shows,

Thin Lizzy current anniversary lineup plays over an hour of all their famous songs, plus Black Rose, a traditional Irish song.

WHISKEY in the Jar is the last song.
They also plays Massacre and also Angel of Death.
two songs surely very familiar with Iron Maiden fans especially knowing Iron Maiden had recorded Angel Of Death during the Dance Of Death album studio sessions but never released till now.

During I forgot which song, maybe Boys Are Back in Town

There was a
"Lets sing for Mr Gary Moore" & "lets sing for Mr Phil Lynott" Moment,

I remember the Thin Lizzy has a rocking start and middle portion of the show, but when it comes near the end with the Cowboy Song, Black Rose and Whiskey in the Jar , I find the last parts are a bit touching and emotional.

A great show by the current interpretations of Thin Lizzy with their greatest hits and popular songs sections,
and also Manfred Manns Earth band,

Back to Rainbow..

The ending...

Ritchie kneels in front ofnthe stage to the audience after the last song

Then Candice and fellow backup singer joins in for photos.

When the band turns around for photo with the audience taken by Ritchie Blackmore's guitar tech,
Ritchie was no where around.

Divert the topic awhile to Loreley itself before I finish of with a Ritchie photo alone on stage,

Lets have a quick HOW TO GO TO LORELEY FOR A MUSIC CONCERT AND HOW TO RETURN FROM LORELEY BACK TO SANKT GOAR.
I slept at Sankt Goar.
I took the 10 minute interval ferry which runs early morning till night to cross over to Sankt Goarhausen.
- For days with concerts in Loreley,

DO TAKE NOTE THE FERRIES WILL RUN TILL VERY LATE.
MORE BUSES WILL SUPPORT THE AUDIENCE TO GO DOWN THE MOUNTAIN.

share with you what happened during the Rainbow show,
Going to the show is not a problem, you can ssk around where to take the bus, and there is an information counter near to the ferry terminal at Sankt Goarhausen.
the bus will brings you up hill the mountain to Loreley if you dont want to walk and climb the mountain yourself.

After the Rainbow show, there are thousands of people outside the amphitheater which is I think built in the 1930s.
THERE are a lot of people camping and on caravan but also thousands waiting for buses to bring them downhill back to Sankt Goarhausen and the ferry station to cross River Rhine.
I was at the back of the queue and lucky for me the buses arrived and they opened the doors at the back of the long long horrible queue of a thousand and more people.

Going downhill was total darkness and lots of people climb down the hills by walking the slopes.

I Cross river Rhine by ferry to sankt Goar, AT ABOUT 1 AM IN THE MORNING in still of the night IN DARKNESS,
SO NOT TO WORRY.
YOU JUST GETNREADY SOME MONEY,
BUS TO Loreley is about 2.95 euro per direction and you can buy a return trip but the buses on way back, its hell and a crazy lunatic rush, so no worries about tickets LOL.

The ferry, yes they will check.. so, better keep your tickets handy if you already buy a return trip. AGAIN about same price.

So no worries. Worst case scenario, if the ferry is no more, just hang around for a few hours in Sankt goarhausen till the morning comes.

But its cold. Its summer but its still cold... I am not use to this kind of weather. LoL.

Last but not least,

Some Ritchie alone moment on stage,
when he returns furst to finish of SOTW if I am not wrong before the rest joins in. Or isnit to start SOTW.
I FORGOT. I TAPED THE SHOW, BUT LETS hear THE BETTER QUALITY bootlegs OUT THERE,

Ok one more time, the event  tshirts for Monsters of Rock Germany with Rainbow, and also Rainbow event tshirts for this 3 live performances of the new Rainbow,

I am sure we will have very good complete audio bootlegs of all 3 ofthe Rainbow ahows soon,

till then Long Live rock N Roll.

Now lets see if Stuttgart or Birmingham gets to sing KILL THE KING.

Happy Ramadhan.

RITCHIE BLACKMORE('s Rainbow) - cover story of guitar player mag May 2016

An Intro In Malay Language
Then proceed to English.

Dan inilah aku nye first time dan last time untuk aku menunjukkan betapa aku sayang kat kumpulan Rainbow jadi aku sanggup gi backpack Loreley ni haha.

Aku ada  angan-angan Mat Jenin, dalam 10 hari nanti, aku nak backpack sorang2 tengok 4 band rock main headlining acts kat lain2 tempat.. -
ACDC/ BLACK SABBATH/ IRON MAIDEN /RAINBOW.

Quadruple paling seronok la kan untuk peminat muzik rock terutama Black Sabbath dah confirm The End.

Tak tahu cammana antara angan-angan mat jenin paling giler aku pernah cita-citakan.
So far, hanya tiket Rainbow je aku ada. HAHAHA...

ok, dalam kepala hotak aku sekarang tengah main lagu XPDC - John Jenin.

ok, kalau 1st May ni kat sebelah Plaza Angsana, XPDC bawak lagu John Jenin, dan aku tak pergi... memang waste la. haha. Feberet....

OK For those interested, this is the page by page interview and articles on Ritchie Blackmore which he appears on the front cover of Guitar Player Magazine May 2016 to celebrate his return to play Rainbow and Deep Purple songs for total of 3 shows in
- Loreley Germany, Stuttgart Germany and Birmingham England.

I hope to be at the Loreley show, and I still have no idea how to go there LOL!!!
Lets have the articles first for those who wants to read but cannot locate this magazine..

By clicking it and enlarging I hope you guys can read it? LOL!! Sorry if cannot.

Anticipation is killing me,  RAINBOW performing is basically overtaking the excitment of looking forward to see Iron Maiden'Book Of Soul World Tour" for me, and thats is like basically crazy for me LOL!!!

I really hope I can make it...
I actually plan for a crazy 10 days crazy sleep on the buses and airports backpacking exploration to see ACDC/BlackSabbath/IronMaiden/Rainbow
headlining quadruple act in different places and festivals.

Anyway, lets review my dream setlist LOL!!! Ritchie Blackmore has now said the songs will be faithful to the originals.
The keyboards player Jens Johannson (Statovarious, Yngwie Malmsteen Rising Force, Dio) will be playing supporting but he will still get some solos.

So considering only the popular POP songs will be played.

This is what I expect of the Rainbow 2016 setlist.

Intro-Somewhere Over The Rainbow "Toto we're not in Kansas anymore"
1) KILL THE KING
2) GATES OF BABYLON
3) Greensleeves/16TH CENTURY GREENSLEEVES
4) PERFECT STRANGERS
5) STREET OF DREAMS
6) MAN ON THE SILVER MOUNTAIN/Blues/STARSTRUCK
7) MISTREATED/STORMBRINGER
8)CATCH THE RAINBOW
9) STARGAZER
10) BLACK NIGHT
11) SINCE YOU BEEN GONE
12) SMOKE ON THE WATER
encore
13) HIGHWAY STAR
14) BURN
15) LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL
16) STILL I'M SAD (at least 20 minutes version please LOL!!)
outro WEISS HEIM

I would be very happy.. though it would not happen I think..

I am not asking for A LIGHT IN THE BLACK, not asking for even WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW,  LOL!! I am not asking for DRINKING WITH THE DEVIL, LOST IN HOLLYWOOD, ok what I'm actually wants to go asking, is like the whole Fireball album, whole In Rock album, whole Machine Head album, whole Stormbringer album LOL!!!! and all Rainbow albums..ok ok I am going crazy I got to stop.. LOL!

OK thats about it, if I can manage to be there I will blog about it,

or else, lets all of us just wait for the DVD.. LOL!!

Speak of DVDs, and whatever.. this is the Ritchie Blackmore Story DELUXE boxset packaging for those who havent seen it...

Its here..

Summer nights are colder now
They've taken down the fair
All the lights have died somehow
Or were they ever there

No sighs or mysteries
She lay golden in the sun
No broken harmonies
But I've lost my way
She had rainbow eyes

Oooh, ooh

sigh..

p.s

Opening band Thin Lizzy (or whatever is left of it) is not using Motorhead's Mikey Dee.

At first I thought its because there is going to be a surprise Motorhead tribute All Star performance in Donington Download Festival (Black Sabbath & Iron Maiden are going to headline each on the Saturday and Sunday), but I dont think so.

Thin Lizzy is using the Judas Priest drummer Scott Travis instead, and they are using Aerosmith bassist for the bass player slot.

OK, that will be fine, and surely lots of fun...

So so Mikey Dee......  but it would surely be more fun with Mikey Dee. LOL!!
