Search Rockology boxset review/ulasan

 Salam. As usual first in my broken English and then in my Bahasa Melayu Pasar.

PREMIER Malaysian and South East Asia Rock & Roll giants Search consisting of the two remaining long time members of Search - Nordin and Kid has released a boxset of Search called Rocklogy. Consist of two cds of songs (22 songs + a new track featuring 4 minutes of guitar solos) which are taken from 8 different albums which features both of them together, a tshirt and lots of other merchandise and memorabilia. I will show photos of the content below.

The songs selected are not exactly the most popular well known songs but it varies enough fast and slow songs to give a taste of what Search has offered and hopefully will continue to offer.

The selection is actually refreshing and not the same old "loved by general public and thats all the general public knows about the band songs " songs if you get what I mean.

Currently, Search the band is made up of guitarist Nordin and Kid, the return of  bassist Yan which had played and recorded studio albums with Search before and also featured in other well known bands, drummer Pae which had performed live and recorded a studio album with Search before after the passing away of Arwah Yazit Ahmad, and finally a new young singer from Indonesia called Denden, coming in after  previous singer Amy had announced publicly his departure from the band.

( Anyway the latest news is Amy is returning and using the same band name with others who had played live and studio with Search also.)

Good Luck to all, as fans we vote by how we spend our money, our time and our efforts.. 

Its nice to have boxsets and old stories, but please dont rest on your laurels and this Rockology. New recordings and new shows please.

I am fortunate to see bands I love play in many places, but out of all the bands I have seen external or domestic, international or regional, Search with Kid and Din still remains the Most Thrilling "you dont know what you're going get - a regular or a flying high performance" band I have ever seen. Its hard to ignore them when they announce live shows as i dont want to miss out the Unexpected. Looking forward to more from these two gentlemen and their new/old lineup. Hope it remains stable, because the line up sounds exciting.

Tak payah banyak colok pasal satu dunia pun dah tahu pasal Search Rockology ni so lets terus tunjuk kandungan nye....

Cetakan terhad dan ada nombor bersiri seperti di atas.

Nilai membeli? sebenarnya kalau ikutkan semua lagu pun korang tentu dah ada, dah dalam kepala hotak kecuali ada satu lagu baru yang lebih kepada 4 minit permainan guitar aje.

Tapi...

dari segi menyokong Search dan usaha Kid dan Din, sekali sekala membeli hadiah tuk diri sendiri, mendapatkan merchandise macam baju band, kalender, apa2 je la MEMORABILIA dan apa je la seperti foto2 aku tampal kat blog ni... memang berbaloi.

Jadi pertama sekali, atas tu kat foto 2cd tu memang ada ruang khas tuk kenangan, dan doa bagi Arwah Yazit.  Dari segi pembikinan boxset ni boleh nampak betapa pentingnya Arwah dalam karier dan development Kid dan Din ni. More of that later.

Jadi yang kecik2 dulu eh tunjuk kat atas tu... stiker2 yang pada aku fabulous pasal tunjukkan logo2 berlainan zaman Search. Aku suka sangat.

Bandana merah ada logo band, aku tak faham la rock melayu ngan bandana ni, tapi there it is. haha.

hah ni pulak Kalender meja tahun 2022, dan tu ialah buku simpan 2cd tu foto2 lirik dan sebagainya seperti dicerita di atas.

Ada trivia Search 40 Tahun, aku tak baca pun lagi...

dan ada buku Discography yang hanya meletakkan 8 album sahaja.. tak semua... Rock N Roll Pie pun muka2 di sampul album pun dah takde...

atas tu ialah seleksi lagu2 yang dipilih Nordin untuk boxset ni... jadi breakdown dia ialah...

Karisma - 4, Fenomena 2003 - 3, Rampage - 2, Double Trouble 2 - 2, Bikin Wilayah - 2, 

Gema di Timur Jauh - 2, Rock N Roll Pie - 2 dan last kopek gitar solo rakam pakai iphone.

Kalau korang dengar Search, apa pun pilihan lagu tak jadi masalah.
Cuma tu la memang boring kan Isabella, Pawana tapi tu la yang rata2 orang datang show nak tengok dan dengar so terima je la.
Tak suka? Muak? naik boring?? mohon gi toilet, lepas tu datang balik dah next song.

In fact, aku rip dua2 cd ni , dan aku pasang ikut susunan 22 lagu ni, memang susunan sesuai pacing dia untuk aku bagi rock konsert.

Search basically boleh main konsert dengan setlist 22 lagu dah tersusun ni. Just nice, fast , slow, rancak, semua ada. It will be an " out of the box " setlist.

OOOO yang kertas tiga tu....

Satu Din tulis mengenai pembikinan boxset ni dan dia kan tukang pilih pun lagu2 semua.

Setlist aku speku dari konsert APOLOGIA tak jadi ( YANG AKU DAH BELI TIKET PUN !!!) untuk show Search + Awie. Power giler ok kalau tengok dari setlist tu..

dan last but not least...

coretan tulisan tangan dari Kid tentang segala jasa dan bimbingan Arwah Yazit kepada beliau. Humble sangat tulisan.

Cinderella - The Mercury Years boxset (remastered) ulasan / review

 As usual first in my Bahasa Melayu Pasar and then onwards to my Broken English

Bila kerajinan nak syok sendiri dalam blog melanda....

Dari Powerwolf terbaru versi 3cd ke sesuatu dah lama jugak tapi aku belek2 blog ni aku perasan aku belum borak2 lagi. So ini dia Cinderella nye boxset Mercury Years dan diremastered ye. Aku tak tahu la dapat restu dari anggota2 Cinderella ke tak tapi memang berbaloi rilisan ni , dengan harganya dan packaging semua, dan isi dalam. Ingat ye harga memainkan peranan so dapat cam gini dah kira best.

Sapa tak kenal Cinderella kan? Album pertama, album kedua hebat ye tak sapa2 tahu band ni. Album ketiga aku faham kalau ada yang terkehel sikit dengar.. Cam pelik gitu kan? Tapi sebenarnya ok. Album keempat... Still Climbing, ni la yang terbaik dari ladang. Malangnya, untuk aku dua sebab, tekak dan nyanyian Tom Keifer alami masalah... dan lagi malangnya Grunge Makan Tapao Abis semua..

So sini aku buat post dengan keyakinan betapa korang pun beri "thumbs up" untuk Cinderella. Sebuah band yang macam2 style - laju, rancak, rock bising memekak!!!!, suara terjerit giler nak terkeluar anak tekak!, music instrument sebijik2 sedap gitars bass drum , piano... lagu meleleh, lagu blues meneran, dan semua la apa yang nak semua nak. Dalam usia begini aku dengar lagu2 Cinderella sebagai album, takde dengar sebijik2 mainkan semua lagu sebagai Q dalam mp3 aku rip dari cd2 aku beli ni.  Jadi aku bukan nak panjang lebar cerita pasal band ni tapi aku senaraikan je la kenapa boxset ni best... haha.

- harga nya berpatutan,  semua empat album studio ada, Cinderella Live EP ada dalam so korang akan dapat Galaxy Blues, lagu2 extra yang terdapat kat album kompilasi mereka Move Over dan War Stories pun ada dalam, dan ada lagi satu cd kelima, semua live versions dari B-sides rilisan2, so boleh dengar mereka main di Jepun.... Yang dari mana Mendiang Jeff Labar nye mak berasal..

So aku rasa aku boleh cakap setiap lagu secara rasmi yang Cinderella hasilkan dan segala tok nenek edit single version, semua ada dalam kotak ni dalam 5 cd ni. 

Takde lirik tapi , buku dalam ni ada 16 mukasurat tulisan MALCOLM DOME, yang penulis tak asing untuk sapa baca majalah Metal Hammer zaman dulu. Beliau cerita2 pasal Cinderella. Segala info pembikinan setiap album, dan jugak info bukti remasters oleh siapa....

Itu aje.....  Tengoklah gambo2 ni semua..

From Powerwolf new release to Cinderella, as can be seen above is the proof that the five cds in the simple clam shell boxset of Cinderella called The Mercury Years has been thru the remastering process. Although I cannot find any info of any Cinderella member participating in this release.

Like I say above this blog post is not to highlight how superior Cinderella is thru out their studio releases.  Whether you like them or not, it cannot be denied all four albums really surprised on first listening and repeat listening, especially the last Still Climbing which is simply brilliant, furious yet lovely moments.

So I will repeat why I love this boxset - The price is reasonable, the five cds are nicely packed in beautiful cardbox sleeves, all 4 studio albums are here, inclusive of Live EP this is probably due to the "not heard but often read song title GALAXY BLUES", the bsides, the edits, the live versions on bsides, the two songs on their "once upon a time.. " compilation.

Plus a booklet of 16 pages with text and stories by Malcolm Dome, and all the infos as can be seen on some of this sample photographs I took.

and last but not least, there are a total 65 songs in here and I enjoy them all  - fast furious rockin ones, the mid speed ones, the slow sentimental ones, the blues and everything in between. Tom Keifer voice is beyond this world and so is every musician which thrilled me on every listen.

So probably there will never be a Cinderella anymore with Jeff Labar passing... but I think a lot of people still love their music.

Manowar - BLACK WIND , FIRE AND STEEL - The Atlantic Albums 1987-1992 REMASTERED BOXSET

As usual first the boxset review in my Broken English, then ulasan dalam Bahasa Melayu Pasar.

A bit late, by a few months?

But to those who are still wondering whether to get the Boxset of MANOWAR's BLACK WIND FIRE AND STEEL - The Atlantic Albums 1987-1992 , let me tell you its quite worth it to get it.

-YES ITS REMASTERED. Although surely with no involvement of Joey De Maio.

-The cds comes in cardboard sleeves. (Fighting the World 1987, Kings of Metal 1988, Triumph of Steel 1991)

-Extra song of Herz Auz Stahl which before this was found on one of their Atlantic Best Of.

-A booklet with lyrics for all 3 albums, with info on the Remastering as proof!

-Pleasure Slave is on Kings of Metal as the original CD, but the sleeve copies the LP style, so its not printed on the sleeve.

The tricky intro/before solo/ending "sound effects" are still on there for Pleasure Slave. Careful on sound control if you are playing it loud. HAHA.

-A cute poster comes with this.

-The clam boxset looks pretty too.

Personally I have a joyous experience listening to these new cds.

The sound is more dynamic.

Especially compared to the original Fighting The World cd.

If you love old Manowar, at least the Ross The Boss and David Shackle era..

this would make a nice treat.

The Original Kings Of Metal is still superior and kick ass compared to the Karl Logan one.

OK Manowar. 

MANOWAR LAMA. MANOWAR ZAMAN LAGU BEST BEST. Baik lagu rancak, mahupun lagu meleleh...

Ni bukan nak ulasan setiap lagu dalam tiga album ni. Sapa tahu ni tiga album tahulah betapa gereknya seluruh album2 ni.

Aku cuma nak tunjuk boxset ni dan kandungan nya dan untuk sapa rasa CURIGA!!! sound lama ke ada perubahan.

Walau tentunya Joey De Maio tak terbabit langsung.

Jadi boxset ni cam aku cakap kat atas adalah seronok sangat kerana bunyik nye lebih menyerlah.

Tak dinafikan Fighting The World terutamanya mendak dah zaman kuno dahulu.

Jadi kalau minat Manowar zaman tiga album ni, dan tak pernah ada cd nya, beli boxset ni dah senang.

Kalau minat Manowar dan ada ni tiga album dalam bentuk cd, tapi sahaja nak dengar bunyik lepas Remaster, sila beli jugak.

Kalau tak pernah dengar,  mohon sample di youtube ni tiga album.

Tak menyesal.

Versi MMXX ke hapa ke benda Karl Logan ganti Ross The Boss tu tak dengar takpe...
