krabi ( last part ) - food: makan makaner makanest & ...pancakes

Super long posting with many photos on food, glorious food. Aku kalo makanan thai ni aku tahu tomyam, dan of course namesake cam nasik pattaya, nasik goreng thai, etc. Dah duk kat beach area so makanan laut kat Ao Nang Beach ni memang best, dan memang tukang masak pun terror kot. So layan some of the seafood we managed to savour while there. Some of the variety of fish cooked different styles. Small Problem : 1st impression Krabi ngan bila tengok cara berpakaian Muslimah dan jugak ngan kaum lelaki berjubah putih bersarban, aku dalam hati cakap, makan senang kot? tapi, bila sampai kat Ao Nang Beach, memang masalah dimana kebanyakkan restoran/kedai makan kat sana semua ada jual pork. Walaupun mungkin dorang sound 'halal' food. Jadi sebelum kita masuk kedai tu, walaupun kita cek out pekerja dia Islam, tapi kita verify sendiri la menu dia. Also memang ada tempat makan yang display Halal signages tapi better play safe, pasal at the same liqour tetap ada dari apa aku tengok. So nasib baik lodging kita Somkiet Buri ni halal, Muslim owned, jadi breakfast sarapan per yang diberi tu memudahkan kita. Some of the breakfast stuffs we tried and enjoyed are the porridge. The Fish one is nice, so is the prawn. Being low season for tourism, we were informed the resort did not prepare buffet style breakfast but ala-carte for their few guests, which is so much better and fancier. These are some of the more western styled servings on the menu The sausages(?) were nicely carved out. Being a jakun that I am sesekali gi tempat dan tengok makanan cam gini, rasa sayang lak nak makan. Ah, the tears of the dragon and other local fruits nicely cut and served. Vegetable style dishes tried at different times.. Sedap sey. plus of course the tom yams, the curries.. haus lak, air, order air selalu dapat bunga ni. Okid ke? Macam bunga kebangsaan gitu. Bangga kot dorang ngan bunga ni. Masuk mekdi, terus cek menu, terus tak yah berbual panjang, pasal depan mata dah pork burger. French Fries paling besar gedabak nye size, 87 bath tak salah aku. Tapi nasib baik, rezeki, sepanjang jalan raya kat kawasan Ao Nang tu nanti ada jugak gerai2 muslim halal food. Contoh makcik ni jual dia punye goreng2 gitu, ayam goreng, udang goreng, cocok2 gitu, Thai sticky rice, macam pulut gitu, aku suka la... Best gitu... yang makanan halal kat pasar malam krabi, tu aku dah cerita kat post lagik satu ngan gambo2 dia kat sana.. Also, korang tahu la Thai memang makanan pedas2...so time balik , borong dorang nye yang paste udang kering pedas, cili pedas gitu..ready to eat gitu. Lupalak, aku suka gelas Swensen kat Krabi...or is it kat Msia/Spore pun gelas cam gini aku je mata taruk kat lutut ( walau aku gi Swensen maybe setahun sekali ). so taruk la satu gambo eskrem, kasi pemanis blog :-) Last, but certainly not the least... Thai Pancakes. Dan apa aku perasan, kita try kat 3 different stalls semua sold by Muslim ladies. Dorang konker pasaran benda ni kot. macam kat signage kedai atas ni, kedai 1st kita try macam2 pancakes ada, pisang, pisang ngan keju, mangga, cokelet, nenas, dan apa je la korang nak... bersih je kedai akak ni. ok below lak, akak ni kat gerai no.2 kita try kat bawah ni ngah buat pisang ngan nenas ngan mangga nye.. ni lak gerai ketiga which is beside the makcik jual ayam and cocok2 tu.. krabi ( pt 3) - ao nang beach , katak magik

sambungan.. Ao Nang Beach where we stay is about 30-40 mins trip from the Krabi Airport. A central location for leisure and to sort out your daily outdoor activities ( click all photos to enlarge ) I like this photo la. A passenger about to board a small boat at dusk with strong tides. going to the open sea.. WESTWARD THE TIDE!! (hehe.) Ao Nang Beach ni kira tempat holiday paling strategik dan popular, dari sini korang boleh plan macam2 aktiviti. Tapi, pendapat aku Pantai Ao Nang ni bukan untuk swimming ke enjoy2 pasal ada tempat lain2 kawasan krabi ni lagi best, jadi tu korang gi aktiviti naik speedboat/longboat pegi pulau2 lain cam aku cerita Phi Phi Islands. Cantik tempat Ao Nang ni, laid back, banyak hotel dan lodging ikut budget korang, complete la kira, smua ada, tukar duit, massage2 urut2, pampering, nite spot - walau nampak macam tak havoc tapi tetap ada.., pagi2 kat Ao Nang Beach lepas subuh korang pegi, banyak botol kat tangga2 menuju pantai. Kita gi low season tourism, so kira kosong jugak la. Ada jugak aktiviti gi tengok muay thai ( martial art thailand ), ada gi live-shooting, panjat gunung, semestinye macam2 aktiviti laut dan jalan2 kat pulau2 cantik kat krabi, dan macam2 la.. Lepas subuh matahari terbit pun aku gi pantai ni jugak, then aku nampak ni.. seriously aku tak tahu apa kumpulan ni buat tepi pantai cam gini, exercise kot atau buang tebiat? I think at the distance are a few of the beautiful islands with sandy beaches and clear sea that are part of the Phi Phi Islands/4 Islands/5 Islands/ Hong Islands trips. Ao Nang Beach area, sleepy early morning scenes ..You see the wires all over the place? At night, its fun, colourful and bright.. Mekdi ada, nampak? tapi.. susah la, jual burger daging 'be alif be ye'. Ni nanti aku ceta kat bahagian makanan hehe. As you can see from the above photo One thing amusing is the amount of overhead electrical / communication wires. When you walk in the early morning when the streets are empty, you can hear the 'bzzttt bzzttt' sounds coming from these masses of wires hanging/dangling above you. mesjid macam nak kat siap aje dekat ngan pantai Ao Nang ni... so korang lain kali datang maybe dah siap.. senang la korang. reban ayam dan ayam2 cantik...ni kat tempat naik gajah sebenarnye hehe.. ok ni lak cam aku cakap katak magik These are the fascinating yet irritating but lovable wooden crafted frogs sold by the Chiangmai Tribes Ladies who wear their colourful traditional clothes and headgears. The trick is you take the small stick provided and rub it against the scales at the back of the frogs. You should be getting some 'nature' frog-alike sound. I prefer the cuter sounds emitted from the small & medium sized frog but my better half prefer the 'brutal violent' froggy sound emitted from the largest one haha. Dulu2 gigit jari je la dengar orang dapat gi tempat2 cam gini.. tapi skarang, peluang ada cerah sikit with budget airlines... Kita naik Air Asia dari KL. Kalo korang yang dari Singapore, korang naik Tiger Airways. best.. nanti next aku buat last report dan most important... WE WANT FOOD!!

krabi ( pt 2 ) - gajah, emerald pool, hot spring, pasar malam

(click all photos to enlarge) Gajah ni dikira 'beast of burden' jugak kan? ah see? aku dah cakap Iron Maiden cikgu bahasa inggeris yang bagus, at least untuk aku la... aku boleh belajar cakap omputeh ngan sambil layan Final Frontier. tiap2 hari aku berhimpit2 naik bas, naik tren, kadang2 lori, tapi tu hari...aku dapat naik gajah.. best thing in the world, gerek sey.. rasa tak mau turun, kalo boleh nak naik sampai petang.. kalo boleh aku nak bermalam ngan gajah tu dalam hutan ... Our Elephant Trekking experience was at a place called Nangkiat or Mankiat or something? Sorry dah lupa. There are a few different locations for elephant trekking in Krabi but I think this is a better one. Its private or maybe we were just lucky that day and there is no one else. Also, the mahoots ( elephant handlers ) are friendly , they answer our questions well and provide incredible knowledge about the elephants and the surrounding area. Anyway our elephants ( 'our' siol ) are called nan pheng and utt, 28 & 27 years of age respectively. Sisters. Sebelah kiri tu Utt, kanan akak dia, Nan Pheng ( madu ). Aku suka sangat. Apsal aku tengok foto ni macam dorang dua ngah senyum gitu. So the elephants can live up to 100, they have their own individual mahoot, they only listen to their own mahoot command, they sleep about 5 hours daily, they are brought daily deep in the jungle to have their food and they really eat a lot and they shit a lot too, and I am told not to pluck the hairs from their heads haha. I also realise they do not smell at all. (Dari foto ni korang boleh bayangkan betapa aku kalo jatuh dari gajah ni, konpem macam nangka busuk.) We were told this beautiful clear lake is about 240 meters deep, and its connected to another lake nearby thru an underwater cave. The mahoot say it is one of the deepest in Asia, and very dangerous ( 'can die' ). He says the divers from Phuket came here with oxygen tanks for diving and video sessions. Elephant trekking ni dalam sejam tau, jalan2 gi sana sini, ni dorang ngah tarik daun2 palm tree untuk halau serangga etc. Yang ni best... kulit dorang tebal sey..tak rasa apa sey kena draw2 gini.. I snap this photo of the hook on the elephant's ear but the mahoot informed that it is used to guide and also to clear the path, and will not hurt the creature. haus. Pit Stop. Apa pun, a wonderful experience la kan. kapkunkap hehe. ok next hot spring.. Aku rasa terletak kat some rainforest gitu.. 40-50 degrees celsius. Panas tapi tak melecur la, semula jadi gitu... Tapi guide kita untuk hot spring ni yang have a weird sense of humour Mr Pawit cakap tak bleh rendam lama, 20 minit gitu dah... Sini danger hooo bawak kamera haha, mau kang masuk air pasal licin beb. Kat sini jugak aku jumpa kucing ni.. kalo boleh bawak balik aku dah smuggle dah...tapi , kita tinggal rumah flet cammana la kan... Apa pun we have photos of this krabi Bucky Katt huhu. Perangai pun ada jin aprit macam Bucky Katt jugak suka gigit2 jari aku. Next.. Emerald Pool or aka Crystal Pool. Memang jernih, cantik giler tempat ni, terletak dalam hutan, kena jalan jauh jugak masuk dalam. Beberapa foto bercorak meniru gaya album cover Wings Hukum Karma telah dipetik di sini hehe. The pool is about constant just over a meter deep everywhere so its safe even for non-swimmers to roam around. Just be careful its slippery in entering and leaving the pool Aku nampak satu pompuan mat salleh ni tergelincir, nasib baik tak apa2. next, pasar malam kat Krabi Town itself yang lebih kurang 30minit dari Ao Nang Beach tempat kita duduk. Krabi Night Market which falls on Friday, Saturday and I think Sunday too. Congkak traditional kebudayaan thingy sambil mintak donations. ah ni sabun wangi2 gitu, warna warni macam2 pesen pattern bunga2 mamat ni buat... cantik. ok la jugak kan.. Mula2 ingat takde makanan halal, then nampak ni... siap ada ayat2 suci lagik...korang tengok signboard kuning tu Keropok mee gitu lagik.. ni kira cam sesi projekkan orang ler mamat ni diri cam batu, then kira semua orang boleh datang kat dia ambik paintbrush dan kaler2 badan dia. fun gitu. apa ntah nama, pulut gitu.. nanti senang sambung, to be continued nanti gambo lain semua aku upload flickr nanti
