KK's Priest - sermons of the sinner cd review

 Salam and a very happy morning/evening Judas Priest style Heavy Metal to you. As usual first in Bahasa Melayu Pasar, then in my Broken English.

Sapa merindui Judas Priest main heavy metal laju2, gitar solo keluar kat speaker atau headphones kiri lepas tu kanan, lepas tu kanan, lepas tu kiri, lepas tu melodi gitar sama sama dua dua keluar sound, lepas nyanyi balik, lepas tu drum dan bass semua best... pekik pekik suara sedap merdu high pitch...

ni la album nya... Semua lagu KK Downing tulis, beliau jugak producer.  Pemain Bass , mixer dan engineer ni album Tony Newton tu ialah orang sama tolong Iron Maiden producing dan remaster album album lama. Jugak bassist Voodoo Six. Band paling boring aku pernah tengok jadi opening band untuk Iron Maiden, tapi tak boo la... ye la band kroni Steve Harris. haha.

OK.. 10 lagu dalam album KK's Priest Sermon of the Sinner ni.  Lagu pertama sebenarnya intro je bunyik angin ngan suara gore kejap je. Lain 9 is lagu rancak2, time changes tukar tukar, dan gitar solo guitar solo yang memang best dan giler2 la untuk telinga aku 

Lagu2 semua best.. ada best ada best giler. Takde kecewa langsung la... 

Aku dengar kat rumah pakai speaker ok, tapi bila aku jalan kaki , dalam bas, dalam train , dengar guna HEADPHONE!!   Giler ah sound dia !!! guitar lari2 kiri kanan, kiri kanan, lepas tu masuk part melodic nanti dua dua gitaris solo sama sama.

Akhir kata dua benda aku nak sebut.

KK DOWNING nye gitar akan keluar kat bahagian kiri headphone (macam Dave Murray)

dan beli ni album.. aku tak tipu... memeranjatkan untuk tua kertu cam KK Downing. Dia ialah Judas Priest. Judas Priest ialah dia.

Sama macam.... NORDIN IS SEARCH, SEARCH IS NORDIN.

" Are you ready for some Judas Priest Style Heavy Metal?? "

so listen to this. KK Downing delivers a thunderstorm tsunami of an album to be listened loud. His band with some big names, his songwriting and his production.

This album is made for maximum volume while outside walking in the outdoors and on public transportation.

This album makes me very happy. This album makes me feel young. Its Fast and Furious.

Great songs, great vocals by Ripper Owens, great drums and bass, I mean its Tony Newton the Iron Maiden related guy.

And definitely the GUITARS... ITS A LISTEN TO HEADPHONE HEAVEN DELIVERY!!

KK is of course on the LEFT CHANNEL. but theres enough crazy solos on both sides left and right and the occasional "melodic guitars together solos" moments.

BUY THIS , 9 full songs and I have no problem with every song, some of them are awaiting to be joined in for loud live singalong sessions, two of them beyond 8 minutes, and one introduction of words and winds and storms.

This will complement Senjutsu nicely as a 2021 nicer moments. LOL!!

review/ulasan - JUDAS PRIEST/BABY METAL - 4 Dec 2018 Zepp Jurong East Singapore.

A quick review of Judas Priest Live in Singapore for the latest Firepower album Tour.
They are supported by the new formation of Babymetal.
Its held a Zepp Bigbox 4th December 2018.
I'll start with English and follow up with Bahasa Melayu later.

I guess the tickets sold is about 2000 attendance, its all standing event, and I guess everyone can see the band in real close up situation.
Surely Babymetal helps with the tickets as a number of fans were wearing Babymetal tshirts.

I also heard all Babymetal merchandise was completely sold out.
Not the same rings for Judas Priest. But I did get one tshirt, a nice Satan's Tuning Fork design with the cities Judas Priest is playing on the backprint. (see last photos).

Glen Tipton turned up for the encores. Worth the price of the ticket just for that alone.
Andy Sneap covers Glen Tipton for the main set before the encores, and take a back position when its time for the Three Guitarists Encore performance,
but Andy do not exactly plays all Glen Tipton solos. I think Richie Faulkner has taken more solos this time around and not just KK Downing solos and guitar parts.
Painkiller was terrific, I believe they had Glen Tipton original solos on the mix and Richie playing along with it. Glen did appear on the video screen though for this Painkiller song.

Anyway, Andy Sneap is a huge name producing and engineering and mixing for bands like Kreator and the new Firepower album, and at last I now know how he looks like.

Ian Hill was awesome as usual at his rear position.
Rob Halford was amazing with his singing, though he drops some of the chorus of more famous songs for the audience to sing themselves without the band. He did that fast singing verse on Freewheel Burning though.
The drummer Scott Travis, besides seeing him for Judas Priest, he also played for the Thin Lizzy All Star Tribute band opening for Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow first ever show in more than 20 years, when it was held in Loreley Germany where I was lucky to be in attendance. What a night that was, and another glorious night for Judas Priest in Singapore this time around too.

Last time Judas Priest plays here, it was a double bill with Lamb Of God unfortunately.
but this time it was more fun and I am more entertained with Babymetal.
They had one original member leaving the group,
but instead of having two backup dancers, Babymetal has this triangle triple formation for the Singapore show.

 Its nice to see Judas Priest with a 6 men line up like Iron Maiden during the encores.

Laporan, ulasan pendek konsert band rock Judas Priest di Singapura di Zepp Big Box Jurong East.
Ni la pertama kali aku tengok band rock kat tempat ni. Bagus la... just nice...boleh tengok band rapat dekat.

OK jadi macam ni la rupa Encik Andy Sneap.. Selalu baca nama dia kat dalam sampul cd band2 rock sebagai producer, mixing, apa je la....
so bila dia keluar tu... hah!!! ok ok dah tahu dah rupa haha.

OK aku pilih diri sebelah Janick Gers side ni pasal dengan harapan Glen Tipton nanti keluar.
Walaupun feberet ahli Judas Priest aku ialah tetap KK Downing.

Setlist lagu2 yang dipersembahkan Judas Priest ialah di atas.

Macam aku cakap kecuali lagu Sinner, lagu2 lain dalam setlist tu busuk2 pun tahu sikit2 korus, so boleh la join in nyanyi2 kan happy2...

Rob Halford memang hebat...walau lagu2 yang Pop - Hits dia akan hulur mic kat penonton suruh nyanyi kan korus.
Tapi dia serious berbual, dia masih nyanyi part Rapping Freewheel Burning tu...
Wooo Freewheel Burning, dengan Desert Plains, aku memang nak tengok JP bawak lagu ni 2 live cammana, akhirnya....pasal tu berapa tahun dahulu tu mereka tak main ni dua lagu.

Scott Travis... dia tak flashy eh, dia macam duk belakang diam2 tapi macam aku pernah cerita dulu waktu aku gi backpacking tengok Ritchie Blackmore Rainbow main di Jarman Loreley, show pertama dalam 20 tahun lebih, 
Band pembukaan ialah Thin Lizzy All Star, drummer sepatutnya Mikey Dee Motorhead, tapi last minute Mikey Dee kena panggil jadi drummer Scorpions,
terus malam tu Scott Travis yang ganti, last minit gitu... 

Ian Hill ... hah... dekni, macam kasut kena gam atas stage, tak gerak... tapi badan goyang.. haha...
terbaik kan.......legend.

Richie Faulkner, pertama kali aku tengok dia main ni masa dia jadi gitaris Lauren Harris masa jadi band pembukaan Iron Maiden zaman 2008 dulu....
Lepas tu masa kat Singapore berapa tahun lepas bersama Judas Priest ni aku suka giler dia nye solo2 time lagu You Got Another Thing Coming,
sekarang ni dengan Glen Tipton dah sakit teruk untuk main live, Richie Faulkner bukan saja tapao semua solo dan gitar parts KK Downing, tapi solos Glen Tipton pun aku rasa dia dah ambik dah contoh Painkiller. Macam aku cakap kat atas, Painkiller tu kat video screen ada video Glen Tipton beraksi, dan aku speku...mixing lagu ni diletakkan solo Glen, dan Richie main bersama.

Andy Sneap - macam aku cakap kat atas... oohh dah tahu dah sapa mamat ni sekian lama nampak nama di sampul2 cd berlain band rock, dan wajah dia macammana...haha

Glen Tipton -  bila dia perlahan lahan keluar dari belakang pentas sorang2 untuk encore...

OK BERBALOI BELI TIKET..

pergerakkan dia pelan, tapi dia masih boleh panjat ego ramp, dan masih boleh lompat terjun.

Below is thsirt I bought, Judas Priest Devil Tuning Fork design and backprint of Firepower cities bands are playing for this section of tour.

Firepower - Judas Priest (Itunes)

A short review/opinion/ulasan/pendapat on my happiness on the new Judas Priest album Firepower.

First in Broken English then in Bahasa Melayu Pasar.

I downloaded it on the night its released on Itunes. As I cannot wait any longer.

So I dont have much idea about the details that cd inlets usually carry.

I know its Tom Allom/Andy Sneap combination at work.

Probably this is the last Judas Priest studio album.

And what a way to leave something for the fans to remember.

Judas Priest is literally " ALL GUNS BLAZING!!!" on this album.

Fast songs, lots of melodies, amazing guitar solos, lots of melodies, heavy, lots of melodies, time changes.

And from what I try to listen, the lyrics are beautiful.

I would say I only do not like much one song, " Necromancer ", yet this song has an amazing what is probably a Glen/Ritchie/Glen/Ritchie solos.

Other songs are spectacular. I really like Flame Thrower, No Surrender, Never The Heroes , Sea of Red and the Guardian/Rising From Ruins combination with that Piano intro.

Basically I love 13 of the 14 songs.

The first few songs are very good and after Necromancer I expect the album to have a drop in standard but the momentum of amazing songs continue until the last epic song with that acoustic intro.

A very good Heavy Metal album. 

Maybe on more listenings it will be as lovable as Painkiller or even Defenders Of The Faith albums.

Probably I will buy the physical album next time, waiting for those additional songs/live songs releases.

KEGELOJOHAN aku ketara....

tak sabar tunggu rilisan album ni pada malam ia keluar kat tenet secara rasmi.
Terus donlod.

Terus aku fikir , siot nye Judas Priest , lagu2 yang dorang promo keluar awal semua sedap tapi lagu2 dalam album ni yang lain lagi lagi sedap lagi..

Jadi tak disangkal album ni start sampai abis semua lagu sedap kecuali aku ada kurang sikit lagu Necromancer tapi macam aku cakap kat atas, lagu ni tetap gerek masuk gitar solo dia,

dia selang seli empat kali kot Glen dengan Ritchie.

Satu trademark Judas Priest dari dulu dorang suka tukar2 solo dua gitaris selang seli.

Tapi kadang2 melampau macam Sentinel sampai 7 kali. HAHA.

OK ada lagu laju......., lagu slow, semua heavy la kan...  

Melodies merata2 album ni so sapa suka Judas Priest Style Heavy Metal memang seronok la kan.

Aku konfiden sapa minat lagu rock mesti suka album ni dari start sampai abis.

Kena dengar setiap lagu. Kalau boleh liriks dia sekali.

Cantik2 ayat2 lirik dia dari apa yang aku boleh dengar dan fahamkan. Mungkin ada time boleh masuk tenet baca lirik satu satu... HAFAL!!! aha.

Lagu terakhir tu Sea Of Red tu mungkin lagu baru terakhir Judas Priest, cantik giler lagu ni terutama intro dia, lembut je.... sedih je....

Last aku perasan masa Judas Priest main kat sini dulu , yang Lamb Of God menyibuk jadi double headliner tu hahaha...

Aku perasan Glen Tipton dah mula kasi banyak ruang kat Ritchie Faulkner, RF macam ambik spotlights bila solos...

dan aku masih nak tahu apa melodi dia main masa dia solo masa nak abis You Got Another Thing Coming masa persembahan konsert tersebut.

dan album ni pun aku perasan RF macam lawan tokey gitu kannn.

Tapi memang fresh giler album ni....

Aku tak bedek kan, ni album gerek giler.
ooo piano kat Guardians tu meleleh.....

So sambil tunggu studio album terbaru Ghost nanti, ni album jadi layanan untuk album2 baru dalam walkman aku..

Jugulator/ 98Live-Meltdown/ Demolition/ Live in London (Japan versions) - Judas Priest (Tim Ripper Owen Years)

Hi as usual.. first in English then finished up in Bahasa Melayu Malay Language.

Warning I will lump up quite a number of photos to show the packagings of all these cds so this post is quite long.

I think I will wait for midnite 9 of March to check out Judas Priest new album Firepower on itunes.
I think it will be very good (I Hope).

This is my short review/opinion/ show-off/ ulasan of the four albums that Judas Priest released during the Tim Ripper Owens years (1997 - 2003) where the line up is
-Tim Ripper Owens
-KK Downing
-Glenn Tipton
-Ian Hill
-Scott Travis

I realise I like Ripper Owens singing the older Rob Halford songs, and the two studio albums (Jugulator & Demolition) has a number of wonderful songs. These four albums are worth having.

These are the Japanese pressings/versions.. so as usual when it comes to Japanese pressings of CDs
they are just More Cute, More Pretty than regular ones...
with sometimes extra songs, and better packagings with fancy beautiful Obi Strips and also extra booklets for the Japanese text and lyrics translations.

So lets start with first album.. Jugulator (1997)
Ten Songs
Most songs written by Tipton/Downing. All lyrics by Tipton (surprisingly).
Very modern metal sounding, but I love some of the songs like Blood Stained, Death Row, Burn In Hell, Abductors, the single Bullet Train and the last song, a long song called Cathedral Spires.

I got some problems listening to it the first time, but then its ok as I was expecting a normal regular Judas Priest album but not so.

So I give this album a nice 7.5/10.

The Metal God is back!!!

next is the live double album recorded during the Jugulator tour.
Its called 98 Live - Meltdown (1998)

Now we're talking... these shows seems recorded in lots of places but its sound continuous and fun.

24 songs.. of which 6 are from Jugulator.
The rest are classic Judas Priest and sometimes I feel Ripper Owens versions on the two live albums he record with Judas Priest is as good or even superior to Rob Halford versions of the older songs.

Some I listen more are - the new songs from Jugulator live versions are simply superior to studio version, Diamonds and Rust, Touch Of Evil, NIGHT CRAWLER.

So this live album I will give it a 9/10. I cannot give more as Live In London is perfection.

moving on to the next studio album..  DEMOLITON (2001)

This is for me a superior album to Jugulator because they play a more traditional Judas Priest Style Heavy Metal.
Some songs are modern but mostly are classic heavy metal so I love songs like One On One, Hell is Home is amazing, Blood Suckers, In Between, SUBTERFUGE is another amazing one and it has at least two beautiful slower songs Close To You and Lost And Found.

Again, all songs are either Tipton or Tipton /Downing majority.

I will give this album a generous 8.5/10

Oooo it even have some pretty stickers...


lastly the final one... and the best one out of all...

the double cd Live In London (2002).

26 songs!! of both classics and new ones. And this is the full version NOT the DVD version which has less songs.
You even got Desert Plains.
The most amazing version ever.
I simply love this song...

Simply a Wonderful setlist of the songs on both Live In London and 98 Live Meltdown...
which gives me hours and hours of Judas Priest favourites live sung by Ripper Owens which I say is as good as Rob Halford if not superior.

And as for the music, no argument. Songs like Painkiller and I feel my teeth twitching and grinding by itself. LOL!!

So a perfect 10/10 for this double cd version of Live in London. About 26 songs. More than 2 hrs of Judas Priest style heavy metal.

hah... aku Majmuk kan sekali 4 cd review.. Pasal nanti aku ni suka sambung2 last2 semua benda tak abis...
Serious berbual aku nak sambung aku backpacking tengok band rock pun tak boleh game dari tahun ke tahun... so now, aku buat blog pun tak sekerap dulu, so kena tukar taktik.

Walau cuma berapa orang je baca pun, iaitu korang, tapi sebenarnya aku buat blog ni untuk syok sendiri. Ni la tempat peluang aku tulis baik bahasa English atau Bahasa Melayu walaupun tak betul.. cuma kalau korang perasan, aku sedar aku dah kurang maki hamun dan guna perkataan lucah.
HAHA...     kot tu semua simpan kot, sekali lepas.... terus penuh satu blog haha.

OK macam aku cakap kat atas, aku review / ulasan, beri pendapat pandangan empat album (dua studio, dua live double cd masing masing), yang mana Judas Priest gunakan khidmat Tim Ripper Owens untuk nyanyi lepas Rob Halford tinggalkan dorang jadi penyanyi solo zaman 90an dulu.

Walaupun apabila Judas Priest bermain live di sini berapa tahun lepas ialah Rob dan aku tak pernah tengok Ripper Owens nyanyi tapi aku suka sangat dia kat Judas Priest jadi aku memiliki semua empat cd cetakan Jepun yang dikeluarkan masa dia bersama Judas Priest.

Jugulator - macam modern gitu, memang terkejut pasal Glen Tipton dan KK sebagai kepala Judas Priest cuba buat perubahan sound dan cara tulisan lagu. Jadi ada menjadi , ada aku suka, dan ada aku tak paham. Tapi still ok.

98 Live Meltdown - Terbaik dari ladang... Suara Ripper Owens live nyanyi lagu Judas Priest memang juara, sebaik Rob Halford. Dan lebih 20++ lagu baru dan lama yang best.

Demolition - rata2 ni Judas Priest kembali main style Heavy Metal mereka dan aku suka sangat kebanyakkan nya macam aku cakap atas.

Live In London  - ni 26 lagu yang sangat hebat. Mungkin album terbaik live Judas Priest aku akan pilih album ni. Kelakar pasal bukan Rob Halford pun nyanyi.
Macam aku cakap kat atas... masa aku dengar lagu Painkiller versi kat sini, gigi aku ngilu macam aku gi jumpa doktor gigi.

Dah tu je bye, kita tunggu 9hb Mac genap 12 malam, Judas Priest akan keluar, aku speku aku akan terus download pakai Itunes. Aku speku akan terbaik album baru dan aku speku terakhir Judas Priest walau sapa pun pemuzik dan penyanyi nya.
