Rainbow Strangers In Us All (japanese version cd) & Black Masquerade (japanese version dvd + 2cd) - review/ulasan

As usual firstly in my Bahasa Melayu Pasar and then in my Broken English.

I decide to now blog on some album I love and the accompanying live albums/dvds that was recorded on that specific album tour, together in one post.

So lets start with Rainbow, the band I listened to all my life,  and I got the opportunity to be there on their first show in 20 years in Loreley Germany 17th June 2016/ One of my greatest experience backpacking to see my favourite bands ever. Its lovingly blogged somewhere here 4 years ago.

Recorded Live in Dusseldorf for Rockpalast TV show on 9th October 1995

Album kelapan Rainbow. Suka tak suka, Rainbow ialah Ritchie Blackmore nye band 100%. Bukan macam Deep Purple dimana dia hanya 1/5 sahaja.

Telan je la apa yang best pasal Rainbow, dan kalau tak suka, buat bodoh sua.

Lepas dia gaduh lagi ngan Ian Gillan dan mengamuk dan buat perangai, pasal Ritchie Blackmore ni angin satu badan,

akhirnya dia keluar Deep Purple akhir 1993 dan teringin nak buat album solo tapi akhinya menggunakan moniker Rainbow lagi sekali ngan vokalis Doogie White.

Doogie White ni sebelum tu tahun akhir 1993-1994 memang gossip banyak dia adalah " Runners Up" untuk isi tempat kosong penyanyi Iron Maiden bila Bruce keluar. Posisi tu diisi Blaze Bailey akhirnya.

Jadi yang untung ialah Ritchie Blackmore la.

Dan Doogie White ni kemudiannya jadi vokalis Yngwie Malmsteen Rising Force bila Rainbow ni berpecah lagi sekali pasal Ritchie Blackmore dan isterinya Candice Night nak buat band main lagu muzik medieval dan renaissance dengan band Blackmore's Night. Aku serious rekemen korang semua dengar album pertama mereka Shadow Of The Moon. Kalau korang tak tahu lagi pasal album ni la. 

Jadi balik kepada Doogie White ni, kali pertama Yngwie Malmsteen Rising Force tu main di rantau ni dia ialah penyanyi. Memang ribut la penonton, siap ada lagu I Am The Viking lagik. haha. Kenangan.

Lagi satu pasal aku minat giler band Rainbow, jadi aku memang tertarik kat setiap pemuzik dan penyanyi yang pernah bermain untuk Rainbow baik rakaman studio atau main live.

Dan memang banyak la kan, pasal Ritchie Blackmore ni suka tukar2 band dia ikut suka hati dia.

Walau aku tak tahu cammana dia boleh hidup tanpa rasa menyesal ke...
Ronnie James Dio dan Cozy Powell dah mati, Ritchie ni degil sangat nak reunion line up Rainbow Rising album sampai dah mati tu dua.

Lagi sekali aku nak cakap Cozy Powell mati pasal berbual kat telepon eh masa driving kat hiway. So hati2 eh...  Aku paling minat band line up Rainbow Rising ni la... aku rasa secara band lineup, aku lagi minat Rainbow Rising nye lineup dari apa2 line up Iron Maiden.

Dahsyat kan pengakuan aku? Tapi serious aku minat giler Rainbow. Tak pedulik apa la, janji ada moniker band RAINBOW.

Aku paling tak boleh lupa bila pertama kali Ritchie guna nama band Rainbow selepas 20 tahun untuk main show kat atas bukit Loreley di Jarman,

memang dari satu dunia la peminat, orang Jepun ramai, dan aku nampak satu lelaki angkat sepanduk " IRAN LOVES RITCHIE BLACKMORE !! ".

memang malam tu satu dunia la fans Rainbow datang. Kenangan manis sangat.

OK balik kepada album ni, Candice Night, isteri kepada Ritchie Blackmore dah mula tunjukkan taring dia. Dia sumbang buat lagu dan lirik, dan lagu2 tu la yang sedap2.

ARIEL antaranya. OK lagu Hari Raya kumpulan Malex, ialah lagu Ariel ye. Tukar lirik aje nyanyi Melayu.

Antara lagu2 aku paling paling minat dalam album ni ialah.... Wolf To The Moon, Hunting Humans (Insatiable), ARIEL (Candice backing vocals baik studio atau live),  Too Late For Tears (ni memang style Rainbow zaman 80an macam lagu2 Cant Happened Here), Black Masquerade, Hall of The Mountain King ( lagu klasik Jarman ke hapa tu... digubah ikut selera Ritchie Blackmore), Still I'm Sad dirakam lagi sekali dan kali ni ada vokals, tak macam album pertama instrumental.

Jadi serious album ni tak sempurna la tapi aku kasi markah 664/666. Tak sempurna , tapi jiran sebelah aje . So kira bapak best la.

Strangers In Us All, what an album, yes some songs are just not memorable, or makes you want to listen to them again.

It is understandable Ritchie and Candice Night shifted to Medieval Renaissance music after this album with the new band Blackmore's Night, and probably there will never be another Rainbow album, so this makes a nice closure.

When in 2016 Rainbow moniker was used again after 20 years, with an all new line up (as Ritchie always like to make numerous changes), I backpacked alone to Saint Goar and spend 4 days to catch Rainbow in the classical magical Loreley hills..

It was memorable, as a few days before I saw ACDC and of course what else? Iron Maiden. LOL!!

Back to this album,

Easily at least 80% of the album is superb, exciting, thrilling for me.

I have near a unique song like Hunting Human...

Hall of The Mountain King , the Orchestral Music of the 1800s, and adapted well by Ritchie.

Of course Ariel...  

I cannot imagine if Jon Lord and the rest of Deep Purple had got their hands on this Ariel song.

Wolf To The Moon, Black Masquerade...

what an album, but like I say, its not perfect but its still has many magical moments.

Anyway the Japanese version of the CD has an extra song, Emotional Crime.

and the packaging includes an extra booklet, with a nice message from Ritchie for his Japanese fans

So its not too late to try to listen to this album.

NEXT THE LIVE ALBUM AND DVD that was recorded to support this studio effort.

Paling best DVD dan 2cd ialah lebih 2 jam.

Serious berbual... ni packaging jepun ni dalam dvd dan 2cd aku bagi 666/666.  Markah penuh. Puas hati.

So I cannot have enough praise for this Japanese version Black Masquerade of Rainbow live in Dusseldorf for Germany Rock TV show Rockpalast in 1995 to support the release of Strangers in Us All studio album.

Its over 2 hours

The video camera footages is not rushed, it lingers so long on each musician...

Even the keyboardist has lots of footages...

superb performances by everyone, so entertaining, even Candice Night for her Ariel moment.

And of course, if you love Ritchie Blackmore, no complains on this release.

Lots of him, the video cameras stays long on him....

I think at this time he is late 40s , reaching 50. 
Still on fire !!!!!

As usual I will start the introduction with my kind of vulgar rude market Malay Language, before proceeding to elaborate more in my broken (I hope you can comprehend) English Language.

This is what suspiciously looks like a Inferior Copy (LOL!!!) of British Steel 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition boxset which comprises of 3 discs.

- CD1 - Complete British Steel Remastered with 2 additional songs RED WHITE AND BLUE (one of those British salute songs LOL!!) and a live version of Grinder.
- CD2 - Audio version of the 30th Anniversary British Steel Live comprising 15 songs and missing Prophecy.
- DVD - 16 songs of live show to celebrate British Steel 30th Anniversary somewhere in Hollywood USA.

Judas Priest ni antara band rok aku minat la, nak cakap minat sangat susah jugak, pasal ada album aku suka giler seluruh album contoh - Defenders Of Faith, Painkiller, tapi selalunya setiap album tu ada lagu2 aku minat ada lagu2 aku skip.
Tapi sejak zaman Rob Halford masuk balik, dah berapa album?
Satu lagu je aku betul2 suka sejak Rob Halford masuk balik... tu pun lagu jiwang cinta sentimental meleleh - Angel.

Album British Steel ni pun sama, ada lagu aku minat, ada lagu aku tak dengar langsung contoh lagu UNITED? Macam sial lagu ni hahaha.... aku tak berkenan. UNDIVIDED Bon Jovi? Hahhh tu gerek.. haha.
Dah tu ni album takde lagu slow rock meleleh jiwang.... lagi la aku kureng.....

Tapi apa pun, ni album ada lagu yang memang live feberets, lagu2 hurray-hurray, happy manjang.
So ok la jugak...
dan lagu2 jarang dalam setlist live dorang contoh GRINDER. Aku suka lagu ni, Judas Priest ni kadang2 bila dorang slow down...  Tetap HEAVY NAK MAMPOS.
dan jugak Steeler. Sedap la heavy metal awal 80an Judas Priest.

Anyway... zaman jahiliah dulu (ooo kayyy sekarang pun aku masih jahiliah ye...hahaha) kumpul bootleg, minat bootleg dulu, METALLICA nye persembahan RAPID FIRE tu memang la, carikkk ok. haha.

OK, dah tu je kot? hahaa... ooo yeah, ni aku selit dari youtube, full album British Steel kalau sambil tengok foto2 packaging ni nak mengimbau kembali zaman ROCK MAMPOS korang!!







Anyway masa Judas Priest main kat Singapore, sabarrrrr je la... 4 lagu ok dari album ni haha, tapi ok la...aku dah Freewheel Burning pleaseee pleasee.. tapi satu lagu je dari album Defenders Of The Faith, WAK LU!!!! ok la Sentinel pun Sentinel la haha..
Dari album British Steel malam tu dorang main Rapid Fire, Metal Gods, Living After Midnight dan Breaking The Law yang Rob Halford tak nyanyi, kira pandai2 la audience survive nyanyi sendiri HAHAHA... Bila chorus bukan main kuat, bila main verse....sayup2 je hahaha....

Ni macam Mr Bean kat Church Gereja. Korang tengok?  bila verse semua dia tak tahu, bila part Hallelujah, bukan main kuat suara MR BEAN. HAHAHA!!!!

Rock fans pergi konsert Judas Priest pun sama je macam Mr Bean, dua kali lima. HAHAHAHAHAAHAH.

Tapi fun la, seronok hurray hurray lagu2 ni, sangat mesra alam.

Nanti aku letak bootleg kat bawah persembahan lagu ni malam tu, 
aku tape la complete bootleg... haha.

Itu malam kira macam double billing gitu, Lamb Of God sibuk je, main full set gitu... aku boleh siap timing jalan kaki dari City Hall nak sampai Fort Canning Park agak2 cun2 LOG abis main pasal pada aku buang masa la kan?
Datang ala... LOG masih main, ok.. nasib terus dahbis.. haha...
Sila jangan lahar...

Tapi... biar aku nak cakap, aku suka Richie Faulkner jadi peganti KK Downing..

Aku harap KK Downing masuk balik, Judas Priest ikut style Iron Maiden pakai 3 guitarist.Walau interview dia cakap Judas Priest always 2 guitar band, tapi ye la, tak cuba lagi ye tak, tapi Judas Priest ni tak tahu la sapa kepala dorang, tu susah tu, kalau Iron Maiden senang, ada Steve Harris, diktator kuku besi si degil ni, senang uruskan masalah hahaha, tapi bila tengok sampai sekarang Maiden masih pakai curtain kat belakang untuk live, tukar2 curtain, tarik pakai tangan...betul2 tradisional macam persembahan2 seni zaman dahulu. Aku akan pilih band ada seorang diktator kuku besi. HAHA. Harap sampai bila2 tak ubah. 

K, lain kali boleh berbual lagi pasal Ritchie Faulkner, bila aku berbual kon pasal Screaming For Vengeance kot? haha.

The text on the inlet booklet is not much but still nice, Donington Park Monsters Of Rock is mentioned. Its always a special place for the older bands - this Donington.
How I wish I was there when it all began. The Midlands fans and all that.

The story goes when Judas Priest singer Rob Halford saw the bill for this year Donington Download Festival with headliners on different days Black Sabbath & Iron Maiden and Motorhead is also playing,

I think he did mentioned how he wished Judas Priest will also play to make it a British Heavy Metal Celebrations, 

and it would be amazing to see them play at the Midlands where Donington is, the meetings of the Midlands areas where traditionally Heavy Metal is at its strongest , and two of these bands are originally from there.

But although Judas Priest wont be there, but I hope I WILL BE there this year LOL!!!!

But I had read rumours, the Motorhead Lemmy Tribute on Friday at Main Stage to take over the original Motorhead Stage Slot will have Rob Halford doing the vocals???
Possibly this could be amazing tribute line up.
It will be crazy!!! I will stand at a safe distance of course from the happy riots in front. LOL!!

This deluxe 30th Anniversary of British Steel.
Many great songs, some songs I do not like, but in whole some , a great boxset packaging and content.

I always like KK Downing the most, LOL!!!

Hope he returns and Judas Priest will be a 3 guitar band like Maiden.

The Ritchie Blackmore Story - Deluxe Edition Hard Cover Coffee Book with 2 dvds and 2 cds review.

Writting this from memory..
I am in a bit of rush....  So pardon the mess of this posting...

First a sample photos from the huge book..

One of my fave photo is Ritchie Blackmore on the left photo...

I grew up in a kampong (village), I cannot even speak fuckin English, and I was little boy at religious study school, and the elder boys are coming to the classes having cassette tape players recorders smuggled in their bags..

Inside the cassette recorders are Rainbow live caseettes tapes, and imagine a 7 year old kid being told - This song is called KILL THE KING.

It was frightening, and it was scary but its the greatest thrill ever and the songs and performances are so magical.

Disclaimer - later I realised the song is about Chess and playing the game. LOL!!!
Clever Ronnie James Dio is all I can say as a grown-up now LOL!!!

And then I heard Deep Purple's Highway Star, and I remember writting down that song lyrics to learn English when I was in primary school... 

Then I discovered Iron Maiden, And my life change forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LOL!!! (laughter with a bit of Hollywood movie - Satanic style for techno dramatic effect).

So Ritchie Blackmore, whatever his bands are got a big influence and the soundtrack of my life and seriously I really love Shadow Of The Moon album... an amazing debut by him and Candice.

- I watch both dvds quite a number of days back once each and while doing household chores so my eyes are not on sight with the tv screen many times...LOL!! ,
- been listening to the rips of both cds once each while on public transport of noisy buses and trains and while walking on the streets so lots of distractions too LOL!!.

This is my review and opinion on one of the best release for 2015
The RITCHIE BLACKMORE STORY DELUXE EDITION, which comes in a huge hard-cover picture book format near the size of a LP record album
It has more than 60 pages on it of some text and lots of nice photos..

It has a total of 4 discs - 2 dvds and 2 cds.
- A DVD of the Ritchie Blackmore Story which is fabulous and a mine of information and knowledge if you are a Ritchie Blackmore / Deep Purple / Rainbow / Blackmore's Night fan, all these straight from the mouth of Ritchie Blackmore. Featuring interesting interviews with other people too.. Total run time of more than 2hrs.
- A DVD which I think is the full version of whats recorded Rainbow Live In Budokan Japan 1984 with one of Japanese Symphonic Orchestra (to play Difficult To Cure BEETHOVEN's Ninth)
- Two CDs which is the audio of the above Japan 1984 show.

So on the first DVD, which is over 2 hours long, with additional footages of bonus materials of extra interviews...
Ritchie Blackmore himself, I think does he ever gives a interview on this scale??? LOL!!

Ritchie Blackmore at his house? or an inn?? LOL!!! theres'alway beer in front of him LOL!!
sometimes with Candice besides him giving additional comments..

- He was talking about his parents, how since at age of 5 he never smile in front of camera if he dont want to smile even when his mother ask him to smile
- His education at school at with teachers
- His father, his cycles to learn guitar
- Blackmore explains about why people dont like him , terrified of him, hated him, or whatever because he is COLD? I think his answer is very logical and I think everyone is also guilty of how he presents himself in public or while walking into a room.
- Blackmore talks about his early days - he talks about how he had seen Robert Plant in Birmingham, how he had worked with Jimmy Page and all these before Led Zeppelin was formed.
- Blackmore talk about how Deep Purple was formed and how the band got its name (Its Ritchie Blackmore's suggestion that was accepted by the band to use that name).
- How Mark I change to Mark II, how and why he wanted Ian Gillan to sing for Deep Purple on whats become the Mark II classic line up.
- Why and how he got into problems with Ian Gillan too LOL!!
- Guitar demonstration of how he breaks up Rickie Nelson' Summertime into Black Night and how JIMI HENDRIX create Hey Joe. LOL!!
- Talks about In Rock, Machine Head, Fireball.
- How he is not confident of David Coverdale but then someone says David Coverdale is cute.
- Setting up explosives on his amps, breaking up his guitars, setting fires on stuffs, pranks.....!!! lots of pranks!!!
- How he sets up Rainbow
- HOW HE AUDITION COZY POWELL!!!!!!!! and what Cozy Powell did to get Blackmore's vote.
- How and why Ronnie James Dio actually left / was asked to leave Rainbow??
I AM SHOCKED at Blackmore's story...!!! LOL!!

- Graham Bonnet, Graham Boneet hair style LOL!! THIS IS FUNNY.. He wants to beat up Graham Bonnet on stage at the first Monsters Of Rock in Donington actually LOL!!!!!!
but then he will go to jail again, he have been to jail in Austria for seriously injuring a security staff who had manhandled a young girl who were just cheering for Rainbow on stage.

His efforts to escape the arms of the law that night was in vain LOL!!! Very Funny.
- How he got Joe Lynn Turner for Rainbow..
- How Perfect Strangers album was...
- How did he got problems with Ian Gillan again and he wants Gillan kicked out of Deep Purple. (I never knew it was because Ritchie Blackmore has come to a conclusion Ian Gillan voice is gone, or was it an excuse for other reasons).
- How did Joe Lynn Turner joins Deep Purple
- Ian Gillan return to the band after Joe Lynn Turner's one album and how Blackmore demands a big sum of money so he  thought they cannot pay him so hcan get out of the band but the management still pays him and he's trapped to play with Gillan.
- Rainbow 90s
- How he meet Candice, how Candice can write lyrics, and how and why he plays Medieval music...

The interviews are funny, seriously funny, and interesting, and very very informative and I think he is fair..
Its plain he dont mince words talking about Ian Gillan voice, but he did share some funny stories of Ian Gilllan which may not be so funny to Ian Gillan LOL!!!!

His interview section when he talks about Cozy Powell suddenly telling the rest of  Rainbow that his favourite band was.... ABBA.
Its like blasphemy on his face LOL!!!
But then he said "Mine Too...".

All of the above is very amazing as its all described by Ritchie Blackmore himself on interview.. So its really fascinating and seriously no argument there on behalf of how Blackmore sees this things.

note to myself - I think everybody loves Abba so its no big surprise its Cozy Powell favourites and maybe the man in black too, but personally I think Roxette is better Swedish export LOL!!! (guess what I have on my mp3 player for this period for me listening while on trains, buses, and walking?? Roxette's crashhh booommm bangg album LOL!!!)

OK back to the DVD..

These are some other people in the interviews...

Steve Lukather (TOTO) - oooohhh man, the TOTO guy has great things to say and I think he was saying he wished he had written SOTW. LOL!!!!
and then you have the two big names of rock magazines - Malcome Dome and Chris Welch.
You have JOE SATRIANI - and his interviews were brilliant and he talks about how Deep Purple wants him to replace Ritchie Blackmore when he left the band before Japan tour 1993 or something.
- Steve Vai in in there.

Was it Steve Vai or Joe Satriani who shows their first guitar on the wall is just because Blackmore use the same guitar LOL!!
- Phil Collen (DEF LEPPARD)  is in there and on the bonus features of the DVD, Phil Collen was on his guitars for some Blackmore style demonstrations...
- Roger Glover was in there I think?
- Some older the Late Jon Lord interviews..
- STEVE MORSE is in the dvd, he is not on the story but on the bonus and he shows about Perfect Strangers etc...
- Joe Lynn Turner has lots of nice hilarious stories
- Graham Bonnet was amazing and very humble on his interviews... and he has nice things to say about Cozy Powell too.
I think Graham Bonnet segment was very nicely spoken. And yes he did says about his call-up to sing for Rainbow LOL!!!! and he did share a story about Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow too.
- Brian May (QUEEN) has lots to say.. - Ritchie Blackmore will be remembered as wild and untamed. How true these words are.
- Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull)  is in there..
- Gene Simmon (KISS) is in there and rightly so when he says it needs people like him to tell about Ritchie Blackmore who is maybe the most mysterious, full of attitude and a never-care-attitude greatest rock influence ever.
- Candice Night has some things to say and she make it clear Blackmore never listen to anyone.
So it answers the question Blackmore's Night was never her influence or suggestion. She just follows. I think she says Blackmore was the captain, but then she re-says she is co-captain.
I think there are a number of other people in there...  Unfortunately So sorry no Bruce Dickinson who loves Deep Purple LOL!! Bruce will talk too much and the dvd will be 4 hrs? LOL!!!!!

I really think, if anyone has a bit of like for Ritchie Blackmore, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Blackmore's Night and all the family tree which is like an amazing family tree if all these bands lineups and members are linked together...

This is simply an amazing DVD... I actually forgot a lot of things I think, so go watch it yourself..

and I kind of like it on the thank you list - Ritchie Blackmore thanks Steve Morse too...

Again I want to say, I really like it Steve Morse is with Deep Purple because it brings so much new life and discipline I think, and I guess Don Airey is the only man who can take over Late Jon Lord.

OK, as I got the Deluxe Edition so it comes with the Live In Japan 1984 set.
The DVD and 2 cds.
Joe Lynn Turner years.. and majority of the songs are from Joe Lynn Turner era of Rainbow.
BUDOKAN.
The cameras are ok for a 1984 film LOL!!
Not much audience reactuibs shot but they can be heard loud LOL!!.
The symphony orchestra part was brilliant...

Love the extras on the interviews..
It was laughing out loud funny with David Rosenthal, Joe Lynn Turner, Roger Glover and Chuck Burgi being interviewed for the Japanese fans..
It was simply amazing and shows us how life is so beautiful back then...

AND NO, NO RITCHIE BLACKMORE!!! he was not at the interview... which is really another juicy way to show how problematic and attitude problem he is LOL!!!

And that is to say how brilliant this collection is, as at last we got everything from the man himself. And I think on the interview he sounds funny.
Ritchie Blackmore is a mystery...

I really wish I can be there in Lorely Germany 2016 though I got the physical tickets anything can just happened LOL!!.
I think it will be amazing to see his 2016 formation of Rainbow playing Rainbow and Deep Purple songs..
20 years after he last played pure Rock N Roll of these two bands style.

ANTHEMS 2000-2011 : Anthem. (triple disc limited edition version)

Dari tulis pasal burung Caribbean Pink Flamingos ke China Giant Panda ke Jepun punye Anthem.

As usual it will be a dual ramble in both Malay language and English.

Firstly my still UNHAPPINESS -yes I know its been like two years since Eizo Sakamoto leaving the band (AGAIN!!!!!!!),
and then after that, onwards to my opinion and not so review about this latest release.


THIS IS JUST RELEASED A FEW DAYS AGO IN JAPAN!!!...
and I got it so quickly... Thank you Postal Staffs. For Me About To Japanese Rock, I Salute You!

Aku masih tetap sampai sekarang fikir aku lagi suka Eizo Sakamoto jadi penyanyi Anthem dari Yukio Morikawa.
Mereka berdua ni macam main musical chair gitu, Eizo zaman dulu keluar, Yukio masuk, lepas tu bila reunion balik Eizo ganti Graham Bonnet lepas tu sekarang Eizo keluar Anthem lagi.. Yukio masuk balik..

Jadi sekarang Eizo dah nyanyi 12 album studio kot untuk Anthem.
Yukio dah nyanyi 5 album...

Aku lagi suka suara Eizo.

Tapi takpe... Anthem kepala dan tukang tulis lagu ialah Naoto Shibata - bassist dorang, dan janji gitaris dorang Akio Shimizu tetap maintain.
Drummer dorang si Homma tu dah keluar, Anthem dah pakai drummer baru, muda. 

Drummer lama kemalangan jalanraya, apa yang last aku tahu.

Cehhhh macam tahu2 je eh aku ni... Kalau salah sorry la.. Aku agak2 je. HAHA

Getting news and of course information on releases from Anthem is very difficult as I have no idea of Japanese language, information or relevant websites on the internet.

But when I do get my hands on them... Its all worth it.
So this is a new best of / compilation of Anthem from their Victor record company years.
So basically Anthem music label/record company releases are
1985- 1992 Lexus
2000- 2011 Victor
2012- present Universal Music. - (I think this begins with Live Unbroken blue ray/dvd disc.)

I understand Lexus have remastered from the original analog tapes of the 8 studio albums from 1985 to 1992 and will be releasing them on a boxset soon.

So this release is the Limited Edition 3 disc version of Anthems 2000-2011.
The first two are cds
The third disc is a DVD.

So on disc one and two.. total of 28 songs.
3 songs from the year 2000, the reunion album of  Heavy Metal Anthem whereby Anthem got RAINBOW's Graham Bonnet to sing for them, basically older Anthem songs with English lyrics.

4 songs each from the SIX albums that follows with Eizo Sakamoto joining back in 2001. Seven Hills, Overload, Eternal Warrior, Immortal, the personally I really love Black Empire and lastly Heraldic Device from 2011.

The extra song is ""Undefined Things"" - an instrumental during Eternal Warrior album recordings that was never released.

Walk Through the Night is included.. LOL!!!!!!

Best love song ever - "I love your innocence... I love your smile"", and that is only the English parts, how I wish I understand the rest of the Japanese lyrics...

NOW COME TO THE STRESSFUL PART!!!

On the DVD (the 3rd disc),

Besides the music videos, THERE IS also a ONE HOUR interview with Naoto Shibata on the albums that Anthem released during the Victor record label years.

ONE HOUR!!! what looks like an interesting and informative interview and I bloody dont understand it, and there is no subtitle.

What the #&^@!!! I am so disappointed.. but nevermind...

lastly on the dvd, there is a live video of Anthem during the Graham Bonnet years live.
Recorded sometime in 2000, I think I had reviewed a bootleg of Graham Bonnet show with Anthem in the past in this blog.
Its just one camera angle taken from the back, the quality is maybe from an old video tape.
But the Historic importance LOL!!!....
The song Love In Vain and Hungry Soul.

OK thats about it.....  More Anthem is coming....stay tuned. LOL!!!

LASTLY I JUST WANT TO SAY ITS AN INJUSTICE THAT NOT MANY PEOPLE KNOW OF ANTHEM.

WORSE, EVEN WHEN FANS UPLOAD ANTHEM SONGS INTO YOUTUBE, YOU GOT COPYRIGHT CLAIMS AND THE SONGS BECOME MUTE.

AND THAT IS A SHAME...  BECAUSE I BELIEVE THOSE WHO REALISED HOW GOOD ANTHEM IS, WILL SLOWLY TRY TO GET THEIR HANDS ON ANTHEM ORIGINAL RELEASES.
