How to travel to Hellfest, Clisson, France and attending Hellfest and using public transportations and also staying at Nantes everynight and surviving Hellfest. (my Maiden Europe 2014 backpacking to Serbia, France, & Hellfest 2014 PART 9)

***** Lots of photos in this posting...******
Before that
HELLFEST 2014 - Where I have a great time.
ONGOING REAL HELL - GAZA and other places all over the world where shit happens.
Remember them in your thoughts and prayers. Maybe if you feel like supporting in any way you can or want to, there are ways to do it, You Know What To Do.

The pretty colourful Hellfest carousel ferris wheel.
Nope I didnt take the ride. But I saw some photos from top from a Hellfest-goer who took the ride, it was very nice view.

One of the big problems I encountered while I was doing some homework on the Hellfest trip,
- was the lack of detailed information on the internet in English (with supporting photos to give a better idea and imagination)
- when I was thinking of travelling alone to Hellfest without any knowledge of French language, French Railway and transportation, city of Nantes, town of Clisson and the environment of Hellfest itself.

So here it is my Crash-Course Guide to travelling alone, cost incurred, the many mistakes I made which hurts my limited backpacking budget and my time, the time taken to travel, and everything else - to Hellfest Clisson France using public transport of trains from the city of Paris, to Nantes and travelling on to Clisson train station and then taking the transportation provided to Hellfest site.

Also how to travel daily if you choose not to camp at the Hellfest campsite and prefer to stay at Nantes, and most importantly how to travel back to Nantes at the end of every night of Hellfest and the transportation and cost incurred using the Hellfest transportations provided.

I will be using numeric points. take note there is other alternatives, but I decide on these...based on my budget and my very limited time to backpack to two different countries (France & Serbia) and three different cities. (As usual click all photos to enlarge it).

1) Train Ticket for the high speed TGV train from city of Paris to city of Nantes can be bought THREE months in advance thru the internet, and I think that is when its at its cheapest. Chances are there is also a ticketing representative of French Railway in your country or a neighbouring country. There is one right here in Singapore and I got the ticket delivered to me the next day after I purchased it online. I think the Singapore office also support the Malaysian market.
If you are early, the price of the RGV train ticket is about 34 EURO one direction and the price for 1st class and 2nd class could be similar.

It will take you about slightly more than 2hrs for the train trip from Paris to Nantes. You have to take this RGV train at Gare Montparnasse station, the station is very huge (REMEMBER THE MR BIG ALBUM COVER LEAN ON IT?? with the derailed Locomotive?? This is the station I believed, funny thing is when I came back from Nantes, I walked outside the station to look for that derailed loco coming out of the wall LOL!!).

NEGATIVE POINT FOR ME is that I really have a horrible time finding my seat once I locate the train that I am supposed to take, as I cannot distinguished which train carriage is my coach, so for two times, I had sat on the right seat number but on the wrong coach. It did gives me a bit of stress trying to understand the seating and coach arrangement and having to do it quick as the train is leaving, all the while carrying my backpack and also not understanding French.
Luckily, wearing flip-flops slippers has a calming effect LOL!!. It did attract attention because people over there all wear proper shoes.

Anyway, it is my own fault, as I was not prepared for this trip. I should have tried to learn more French rather than the most basic greetings, thank you's and goodbyes.

2) Nantes Train Station – Nantes train station is strategically located in Nantes because just opposite of the train station is a stretch of  road with all the food, drinks and all the lodgings places that you need plus a tram station to travel around Nantes though I never took a ride on it as I was comfortable enough to just walk and walk exploring Nantes (more of that next time).

I am so glad Halal Muslim food run by some Morocco and Algeria is available 24hours on this stretch. Though I cannot be expected to eat Kebab and its same genre kind of food that often. More pictures of the food next time in other post about food on my travels this time.
There is so much of that kind of food that I can take. Seriously.
NO, NO RICE!!! hahahahaa. They dont really eat rice like us. I mean like us in South East Asia.
So lets eat fruits instead and I have a good stock of dates, and vitamin C pastilles in my bag all the time.

A  short walk and you are then into the huge shopping, historical attractions, MEDIEVAL CASTLES WITH MOATS!!!!!, and food and beverages main area of Nantes. So It Is Not A Problem At All. I really love this Nantes.
Next time I will blog on my exploration by walking all over the Nantes City for more than 5 hours, just walking by myself. It is very beautiful, I really say its so beautiful, the weather was amazing in Nantes, everyone seems kind-looking LOL!! and I feel safe even when I lost my way thru the maze of the backlanes of homes.
You can find Muslim food shops during your exploration, more of that next time, I will show you a beautiful little shop in a street I found when I was exploring, and losing my way and sense of direction a few times, but yes, Nantes is amazing environment in my view. I would think its worth exploring if you love exploring and travel adventures by yourselves.

Anyway, lets say it again, I choose to stay in Nantes and travel daily to Hellfest in Clisson.

3) Irregardless, for everyone, once you arrived at Nantes, you will need to take a train to the village of Clisson.

I may not know French, and the train ticket machine that I used is only in French, but it is actually quite simple once you play around with it, you can guess that the machine will ask for your departure station and your destination station, all you have to do is play with the lever joystick, then you just click some “oui” for yes, and YOU CAN PAY IT BY CREDIT CARD, and it is user-friendly, there is no need for any pin-number, you just slot your credit card into the machine for a few minutes that is all. I have no issue at all when I returned after the trip and check my credit card bill.

A MISTAKE I MADE HERE – I bought a to and fro ticket, which cost me 11.60 EURO, when I should have just buy a one direction travel. This is because, once Hellfest finished for the night, there wont be any more train service. Silly me.

You use this machine, and above is how the ticket looks like.

THE duration of the train travel from Nantes station to Clisson station will take you about 50 minutes long. On weekdays and Saturday there should be a reasonable amounts of trains departures but not on Sunday, like I tell my stories on a few postings ago about Powerwolf, I was at the Nantes train station at about 1.30PM, but I got a shock when I realised the next train to Clisson from Nantes on Sunday is at about 4PM.

As I don’t want to miss a few bands I like as seriously this is a rare chance for me to see some of these bands who play in the afternoon and early evening, and I dont bother to locate (if any), a van transportation from Nantes train station to Hellfest (Yes, I may make a mistake here!!), so I took a taxi and it cost me 90euro for a 30 minutes ride, and even then, it can only alight me at the first security check point of Hellfest, so I have to walk a distance to reach the roundabout of the ACDC guitar.
SO PLEASE TAKE NOTE of this to save your own ass if you're a lazy fucker who cannot wake up early in Nantes, especially for Sunday's Hellfest. So lets BLAME IT ON CARCASS and the TIMETABLE FOR Carcass PLAYING STARTING at 1AM the night before.
Anyway, the train ride itself to Clisson is so scenic. Its a very beautiful environment. Clisson is actually a wonderful place to explore. I got a chance to see their old castles..more of that next time.

4) Arriving at Clisson Train Station.

Once you arrived at Clisson Train Station, you will notice this vans lining up outside the train station. It will cost 2 EURO per person. The Hellfest transport will alight you at the roundabout of Hellfest. Or you can walk...see point 11 later.

This is the roundabout for alighting and boarding for authorised vehicles at Hellfest.
I don't know if non-authorised vehicles can reach all the way here.
If thats the case, you just have to walk extra to reach here. Not a problem really unless you are late for Powerwolf, and you never ran as fast as when you take fitness test during your Full Time National Service and then Reservist. LOL!!!!! but still failed. haha..

Its a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll - ACDC
I think thats the scribe on the huge guitar here if I still remember.
Now that Hellfest can afford Iron Maiden and is big enough for Iron Maiden, its matter of time really to get ACDC and Metallica to headline the mainstream main stages LOL!!

5) First time entering Hellfest to check and validate your ticket, collect the wrist tag, and the security checks to enter the Hellfest site. As its the first day of the festival, so the queue is quite long,

First they will scan your ticket barcode, then they will provide you a wrist tag which a staff will kind of punch and clamp to secure it at the metal parts so you cannot remove it from your wrist. Fancy stuff.

But Water can still go thru your wrist and skin, and the tag is not damaged by water even after 3 days, IF YOU GET WHAT I MEAN.
in fact I only cut the wrist tag after 4 days when I arrived back in Paris to see Extreme play at Le Bataclan.

6) Then you enter the big square with lots of shopping attraction, take note this is still not the actual Hellfest site for all the 6 stages yet, this is just another zone,
Anything you can ever imagine in the world of rock n roll and metal. I absolutely am in awe of the Hellfest Extreme Market where its so exciting on the range of items on sale.. From all kinds of music releases, and mostly I have never seen before, in different formats of cds, tapes, vinyls, boxsets to clothes to all kind of merchandise.

All kinds of releases really, from heaven and hell LOL!!

WARNING!! -
I HAVE A QUICK WALK AROUND AND AS FAST AS POSSIBLE I WALK AWAY, AND NEVER CAME BACK!! BECAUSE I AM AFRAID I WILL SPEND MONEY BECAUSE LIKE I SAY ITS A ROCK N ROLL AND METAL SHOPPING PARADISE.

There is a bridge that links you to the camping site of Hellfest, but I never foray till across that bridge. But all the facilities are in place, ATMs money cash dispensing machines, handphone mobile chargers and bath and toilet facilities.

On the way back from Nantes to Paris, I did have a chat with those who camp at Hellfest, so I did get some good info like, the bathrooms will be crowded at about 10 morning, so its wise to wake up very early, bath, use the toilet, and the sleep again, and you are already cleaned and ready to see the first band at about 11 morning.

7) Then you have to go thru another check point!!!! to really access the huge music site itself, it was so crowded on the very first day morning, it looks kind of like this. But on the 2nd and 3rd day the crowd is gone, as I am LATE on both Saturday and Sunday LOL!!!.

On this photo of my first day, PATIENCE IS VIRTUE. As long I can make it for Impiety then Satan, I am fine LOL!! Both early birds on the first day, if you had read my previous postings regarding Hellfest.

Oooo the long wait to clear the security for the first day morning...photo above.

Next photo, everyone was having fun inside, and I am like "STAR KARAT", I am late...I missed a lot of good bands I had really want to see.... REALLY A BIT OF SAD A BIT haha.
Well.....

Ohhhh the security will check your bag if you carry any, frisk you a bit, anyway, they do not stop you from bringing in water. For your Information TO ensure my budget is manageable for this trip, (AND YOU GUYS CAN CALL my tight spending SAD AND PATHETIC BUT I DONT FUCKIN CARE), I bought from Nantes 1.5 litres drinking water. Because its very expensive at Hellfest.

*******
******
*****
**** *** Please take note, one important you have to bring along is the TIMETABLE.
Six Stages, 150 bands across three days from about 10AM to 2AM.
The timetable is very very important.
**
* Whether you print out the timetables (make sure its as latest as possible, or you create your own or whatsoever but its neccessary.

8) At Hellfest to buy food you can use your cash. But for drinks and mostly the beverage of  choice from what I see are the Alcoholic ones, or soft drinks, orange juice, red bull and drinking water, you have to use tokens like this. Looks like credits token and you have to change it at the Hellfest bank counters. Just to give you an idea, the cheapest is drinking water which will be two tokens where each token is equivalent to one Euro. A Red Bull is about 3.5 tokens (yes the token can be split into half).

Food, there is a reasonable amount of food choices and there are plenty of food stalls and dessert stalls, but myself being a Muslim, I did have a problem in selecting the food I can eat.

The white tents are some of the food stalls, but it stretches to the other side also...

Fortunately, I found that there is one Vegetarian Only Stall which only sell organic food, so I guess I can eat that, so I did try some rice with vegetables.

The taste was so weird, but at least it helps fill my empty stomach.

You do tend to get hungry and thirsty often in this environment...

YES FROM ALL THESE PHOTOS THE PLACE IS REALLY "HELL"FEST. Its hot and dusty and its very bad by the 3rd day as 150,000 total attendance for 3 days trampled the dust, the worst was the tents with no proper ventilation. Not good for health really if you stay non-stop in the altar and temple tents.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE, actually there are drinking points available... if you want free water, but I did not go there and try to taste the water so I dont know how its like.

Toilets, lets say I prefer the Download Festival ones... For Hellfest ones, its like those bins and whatsoever, but then its the ermmm flooding if you get what I mean on the grass near the area you have to look out for.

9) Merchandise, like I say earlier in my other Hellfest postings, the Hellfest Merchandise is prominently located.

There is actually another stand which solely sells the participating bands merchandise and it is at a corner near Main stage.

So don't get too excited and blow all your money on the Hellfest Merchandise, BECAUSE YOU MAY FORGET THE EXISTENCE OF THE PARTICIPATING BANDS MERCHANDISE FURTHER AWAY, as the bands merchandise are nice too and some bands create special tshirts just for Hellfest or the French tour. Anyway, three seperate days means each day the merchandise sold for the bands varies. So its wise to check out the bands merchandise stall daily and try to be early. I think I had talked more about the merchandise on the Dark Angel etc Hellfest review earlier... Ooo I still have not pasted the Maiden tshirt and Hellfest tshirts yet, I only posted the special edition Dark Angel Hellfest one. Maybe next time.

It cost about 20-25 euro for a tshirt if I remember correctly..but there are variety of merchandise especially the Hellfest ones from cheap to super expensive ones  Not bad really I wish I can spend more LOL!!!

10) Now comes to the situation that was worrying for me when I was making this trip...
HOW DO I GO BACK TO NANTES AT THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT FROM HELLFEST?
Anyway, there is definitely no more train service from Clisson, even if you walk to Clisson train station at night...

Mind you the weather at night is very cold for me coming from South East Asia, so its not as easy as just sleeping anywhere on the road side.
I find the temperature did fluctuate a lot between day and night at Hellfest, or is it because, once the festival ends for the night, the crowd disperse so there is not much body heat surrounding me too? LOL!!

So a bit of info that I personally encounter,
- on the first night I decide to leave Hellfest at about midnight,
- on the second night, Carcass finished at 0200 AM so I left at that time,
- and on the 3rd night, I decide to leave Hellfest at one in the morning after Black Sabbath.

So
- on the first night, once I reach the roundabout, I did not see any transport or any Queue, then I saw a white Hellfest Van, fortunately, I understand the pronounciation of the word NANTES in French, I thought at first it was "Nan-Test", but its actually a bit like "nuns". So once the driver was speaking in French and he utter that Nantes words, I raised my hand to say I want to board his van and was the last one onboard. Lucky me...
- 2nd night, at 2AM, then I saw a long Queue at the roundabout, so I pressume its for the transport to Nantes, so a quick check with those in the line and I joined in..
So I realised, if its later in the night, the transport will be a Bus instead to accommodate the many people also going back to Nantes.
- 3rd night is the same, again I take a bus. You just have to patient in the queue, the bus will come, I think no one will be left behind in Hellfest, you just have to wait your turn.

it cost 15 euro, you pay it when you board it. It does add up really, if you are on a strict budget, but I had known in advance, and had set aside some money for these transports.

I just dont feel like camping in Hellfest campsites, so its my choice, so I have to bear the consequences LOL!!  I should have make an extra effort to find a place to stay in Clisson village though, but I was just too ill-prepared for this trip.

Lining up for the bus back to Nantes train station from Hellfest in the early mornings..
about 0300AM.

I lost my sense of direction once I arrived at Nantes because the bus stop at the other side of the train station, but then its ok, anyway, the area is very safe, so I have no problem alone.

I think its on the 2nd night that I reach Nantes at 4 in the morning. But no problem, there are still food shop (Halal for the Muslims like me), and drinks and provisions shop selling fruits open opposite the train station if you are hungry.

11) Walking from Clisson train Station to Hellfest site - I actually walk on the second day, It is of course a bit mazey and alien for me walking thru the town and village but at the same time its beautiful. I ask for direction from a local, and he was actually going the same way, and he brought me along to check out some Clisson history like the castle. More of that next time when I post photos of Nantes.
To walk is about like 20 minutes if you walk fast? So if you camp at Hellfest, you have no problem walking to town to have your food and supplies.

12)

Reflections on life - my travels to see Maiden play (and in the process experience other great bands that I do like all my life) in different environments allow me to see some aspect of social responsibility and the quality of life that is provided to people who may be less-abled in a heavy-metal environment, which always supports my idea that majority of metal fans are the greatest best people in the world. For example those who are using wheelchairs or even blind.

- I remember a blind boy decked in the most metal attire, with his loving father in the front row at the sides for Maiden in Melbourne Hisense Arena. I saw them earlier outside the arena, and when after the show, as I was standing quite in front, I turn around and look around at those who are sitting at the arena sides, I saw them again, they were near the stage as quite near as the seats can be.

Its something always wonderful, not many things bond in life like Maiden (and Arsenal FC).
Thats why Maiden sold that many tickets, people bring their love ones to see whats Maiden about!! LOL!!!!. And it expands from there, and expand and expand LOL!!
its a time for bonding, to show your love ones, now this is why I love Maiden.. Maybe you will now understand why I put myself in so funny unusual situations and sacrifices to do what I do to extend to travel to see Maiden now that it is possible to travel compared to before, and maybe you will love it too...and please its NOT FEAR OF THE DOG!! ...(it happened to me ok!!!).

- I remember the man besides me with only one leg, and on the other is a support frame. Standing with me in anticipation for Maiden in Brisbane, we were quite in front and basically there is 40,000 fans behind us as it was also a Soundwave. We were crushed there waiting for Maiden for more than an hour, and once Maiden start the pushing waves moving left and right will also start, and I was wondering about this man. Now to me watching him, THAT IS DEDICATION!!.

- I remember Frankfurt Festhalle has this impressive huge raised platform for those with handicap to watch Iron Maiden in comfort and clearly, and the number of fans who turn up with wheelchairs and all kinds of assistance is amazing for me. Its simply breathtaking to see that in this sort of Heavy Metal environment in Europe.
Its like its really true about that Kiss song "they try to tell us that we dont belong, but thats alright, we're million strong". I think its true.

- I remember Donington Park was amazing in terms of facilities for the handicap....they basically have raised platforms for all stages even in the tents... First Class, considering its Donington environment. I think this is the single most greatest heavy name ever. Donington!!!. Its all theirs, everything!!, the history of the place.

Donington Park Download Festival is amazing for its facilities when thinking its like 95,000 daily.
Soundwave? I dont recall much and never took too much photos LOL!!!

- And at Hellfest, you have fans in wheelchairs having right in front at the Temple, which is simply amazing.

I like it, I mean, being a heavy rock fan, or heavy metal fan, you tend to be special. Only a special person can appreciate whats these music is about. Others dont get it.

So in Hellfest, especially, I see all kinds of weird people. The kinds of weird people that I dont know maybe will be a bit out of place in our fucked-up society, the kind at the same time you are intrigue, and at the same time you want to hug them.

In conclusion,

I hope I had covered everything.
I am doing this blog post as first a memory for myself, and also if anyone is just like me, who have no idea at all how to go to Clisson to see Hellfest but wants to do it...
It is a very nice experience for me....
Donington Park (Download Festival) has a much bigger crowd, there was reportedly 95,000 fans on the 2nd day of 2013 when Iron Maiden headline it, but I dont feel the congestion and the stress, because the site is so huge,
while Hellfest I think can only accomodate 45,000 per day but its a bit congested in my opinion.

The Evenings...

At nights..

Nevermind.. It is so wonderful.

I dont think I'll ever come back, Hellfest is a bonus for me, I had always wanted to go to one hallowed land and its of course Donington Park.. and I finally did it last year to see Maiden play there.

So I guess, if I want to go to another festival, it will be Donington again, I guess for the very very final time Maiden play there. I am sure Maiden will play another Donington for the very final time. I hope I can make it, if cannot make it, its ok. LOL!!

Wacken? Problem with Wacken is the ticket will sold out before the main headliners are announced. And I will only travel for this purpose, sacrifice a lot, and anything else, if there is Maiden. Though the list of other bands will certainly help, but Maiden is a must on the bill.

(out of topic, I was looking at the retro-festivals going on in UK and Europe, and Men Without Hats are on the bill and I was like, "I think I am sure to have a blasting time during Safety Dance") LOL!!!!

Though, in my heart, I am so happy reading about Savatage reunion next year.
In my life, there is always a remembrance of how most beautiful the Gutter Ballet album is first time I hear it.

But Hellfest with Maiden and a list of the most fantastic bands I like, or curious about, was awesome certainly...a very very incredible experience for me.

This is two short videos I took on the situation near the Hellfest tree, on in the morning, and on at night...

Anyway, the reviews of the bands I see, and the youtubes I took of the bands, are on my previous blog posts...

Sortie.. ok today we learn another French word, for Exit I guess.
"See you next year hellbangers,"

Sorry...not me. Though I would love to.

Note - If I remember anything beneficial, I will continue to add with edits here.

EDIT -

26 February 2016.

BONJOUR TOUT LE MONDE.

I still think of La Bataclan the night EXTREME played the day after Hellfest 2014.

A most memorable Monday night to end a most magical weekend for me.

I am a Muslim, and my heart tears for what happened to beautiful Paris, and especially La Bataclan.

La Bataclan, and Republique area is one of the highlights of my backpacking time in France.

Viva Le France.

Ni cd keluar masa bulan Puasa tu hari, Guitar Republicks Volume 1.

Sedap nama album.

Ada 12 lagu dari 12 gitaris berlainan.
Bila pasang dengar sekali lalu, satu lagu demi satu lagu, memang terkeliru ni dah masuk lagu keberapa ni? dan sapa main ni? haha.
So nasib baik Malex terletak kat tengah2 gitu haha...

Anyway alrite la ni album, macam2 style, tak boring, macam2 pengaruh, 1st song is so padang pasir, setiap lagu menarik la terutama bila dengar 1st time cd ni, korang dengar la sendiri.- Ni senarai peserta, ada jugak bukan dari Singapore dan Malaysia, memang International la cd ni.  - Theodore Ziras, Addy Cradle, Talib, Khalid Mobin, Alif Putra, Eddy Kecik, Malex, Djas Hussein, Irene Ketikidi, Norzamri, Along Exist dan Irvan Borneo.

nampak je Jaybon, teringat their kaset, so SATU HARI NANTI , AKU AKAN SAMBUNG TOPIK "LAIN LAIN TEMPAT, LAIN2 MAKNA PERKATAAN NYA""..

Aku paling trauma baca kalau laporan melayu "Iron Maiden, sebuah kumpulan yang kental..."

OH MY GOODNESS!!! HORROR GILER OK!!!! AYAT YANG BUAT AKU TAKUT SANGAT OK!!! HAHAA...

Kejap, nak bual pasal kental ni semua, kena carik balik kaset Jaybon aku. Tak tahu apasal dulu, mat kental is such a word to be avoided haha.

Tapi of course ni semua berbual pasar la ye...

Kalau bagi ni cd kepada 2 bahagian, macam zaman kaset gitu, 6 lagu depan, 6 lagu belakang, aku pilih yang 6 lagu terakhir lagi aku enjoy.
Bulan Puasa ni cd melayu ada baru2 jugak, nanti la aku senang lain kali eh borak lagi...
Bukan cd Siti Nurhaliza ok!!! haha. Although apa aku tahu, gerek ok cd Mak E.T terbaru ni.

Oooo KAAAAAYYYYY, post ni dibuat sambil dengar Bon Jovi New Jersey Deluxe Edition..
second disc Sons Of Bitches Demos Unreleased tu yang confirm buat aku teruja punye...
“I walk down the street, people passing me by, they look me up and down but they dont look me in the eye..”  – Kane Roberts siot...hahaha.
Lagu ni selamanya ditujukan kat satu pemandu teksi yang betul2 pandang aku atas bawah, SO FUCKIN OBVIOUSLY, langsung takde cam curik2 pandang tapi terang2 atas bawah atas bawah, macam tak percaya aku ni ada duit nak bayar naik teksi tak bermeter dia kat KL satu masa dahulu. dah lama, tapi aku tak boleh lupa, pasal ITS A LIFE LESSON FOR ME... Siap tanya aku "ok ke?" Well.... I just wish he don't make the looking up and down part at me so fuckin obvious. Discreet sikit la bro nak tengok orang lain atas bawah kan?

Like a ghost up in the attic...only love can set it free...hahaha...ok stop....

suspens sangat ok nak pertama kali dengar demo lagu ni versi original yang bon jovi first bawak ..

GHOST - Serbia 22/06/2014 (my Maiden Europe 2014 backpacking to Serbia, France, & Hellfest 2014 PART 8)

"Rock Maintain", but lets not forget the sufferings in Gaza, Palestine.
Lets support them, in anyway we can, for example thru our local humanitarian supports and charities link-up or just thru our prayers and in our thoughts.
.
.
.
I enjoy the songs and the eye-catching gimmicks of the Sweden band Ghost.
When they cover a Depeche Mode song, the more I like them LOL!!,
though Ghost with all their metal music magazines front-covers popularity, can never touch the evil and darkness of DEPECHE MODE.

Ghost lyrically they tend to be straightforward Satanic, their latest cover EP release is produced by Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl. To make it more complicated, they tend to remind me of Jim Morrison’s The Doors. They really got their whole package well-done.

So when Ghost (also known as Ghost BC for USA market) were slotted to open for Iron Maiden in Kalamegdan Belgrade Serbia on 17th June 2014, it means I have to be early for the event that evening, as it gives me a chance to checkout Ghost live though I envy other countries on the History Maiden England 2014 Tour which got ANTHRAX warming up for Maiden instead.

Papa Emeritus II ( same person as always but its a new presentation of this character so thats why we have a 'II" in his name, always with a skull make up and a Pope robe and dressing style.

The Nameless Ghouls total number of FIVE. Two guitars, one bassist, keyboards and drums. I was checking out their soundcheck and stage preparations and trying to speculate if it is their crew members who are really the Ghost Nameless Ghouls themselves. I guess not.

They open with Year Zero. As usual I tend to record the very starting of a band for a minute or two for my own memories before I soak myself into the atmosphere, but Year Zero is a nice song so I record the whole song and upload it...

So here is how Ghost enters the stage, and opening song of Year Zero.

Its worth it for me to come early to catch Ghost before Maiden plays their show later.

Just to give the idea, this is the lyrics of Year Zero..
Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer
Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer

Since dawn of time the fate of man is that of lice
Equal as parasites and moving without eyes
A day of reckoning when penance is to burn
Count down together now and say the words that you will learn

Hail Satan, Archangelo
Hail Satan, Welcome year zero
Hail Satan, Archangelo
Hail Satan, Welcome year zero

Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer

Crestfallen kings and queens comforting in their faith
Unbeknownst to them is the presence of the wraith
Since fate of man is equal to the fate of lice
As new dawn rises you shalt recognize now behold the Lord Of Flies

Hail Satan, Archangelo
Hail Satan, Welcome year zero
Hail Satan, Archangelo
Hail Satan, Welcome year zero
Hail Satan

Love how the Iron Maiden light blue and whte snowy and icebergs stage ramps are already in place for showtime!!! and once the Ghost huge backdrop and equipments were removed....

Ghost plays not long, about 30-40 minutes, but I had a lot of fun. You can’t avoid being happy with songs like “If You Have Ghost” LOL!!
They did play this song that evening... and it sounds so very POP! live. This band is like ABBA or Roxette, similar Swedish bands, and very accesible to all ages and music lovers LOL!!!

Syawal, Shawwal, Hari Raya Puasa, Eid Fitr, Gaza Palestine... &......... STEVE HARRIS in action (my Maiden Europe 2014 backpacking to Serbia, France, & Hellfest 2014 PART 7)

(*I have updated my previous post about the GAZA Palestine humanitarian support for those interested* Using of the word "INFRASTRUCTURE" is such a motivation. So "Open Your Heart" pun intended once you read lower)

Irregardless of how you pronounced or spell it, the arrival of the month of Syawal or Shawwal means the end of the holy month of Ramadhan for Muslims everywhere. None of us knows who among us and our love ones will live to get to meet next year’s month of Ramadhan.

So to all Muslims reading this, wherever you are in this world,
SELAMAT HARI RAYA AIDILFITRI,
or EID-FITR or how it sounds or spells like in your own languages.
Its not going to be a much pleasant occasion if you delve deeper, even though for us fortunate ones living in peace, as seeing the state of the world we are living in now - Fill with hatred, ego and selfishness. Everyday its just the same...

- Humans treating other humans unfairly and without respect.
- Humans being trampled by other humans  and much worse purely because of difference in religion belief, political belief, skin colour, ethnic group.... and on and on and on...
- Humans taking other humans on a ride economically, financially, environmentally, socially, educationally, job-opportunities-wise etc
- Humans being killed by other humans by way of Bombs, bullets, sharp objects, blunt objects, muscle strength, blowing them up in the sky, and on and on and on
- Humans not wanting to co-operate, or give and take with each other and just purely have no respect for humanity, law and order both in public and at the privacy of their homes by being abusive to their love ones...

 Well.........
.Maybe I am not far off if I say the ONLY GOOD HUMAN STILL AROUND TODAY IS THAT HUMAN LEAGUE SONG!!
and an opportunity for a public service announcement - Human League Rules \m/

Well... At least when we wonder what happened to the world today and we missed the better days , we don't have to try, we just close our eyes... and we'll always be together, ~~~~~~together in Electric Dreams...~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~....
.
and how appropriate Human League has a monster of a tragic war song called LEBANON and if people thinks an electronics synthesizer new wave band is hollow, well...they are wrong.

Human League member Philip Adrian Wright commented that the Oakley's politically charged

lyrics were written specifically about the

Sabra and Shatila massacre

and that makes me like Human League even more.... and if you dont know of this song before and its background and THAT MASSACRE, NOW YOU KNOW!
maybe one day I am going to blog about Human League.. LOL!! after I go crazy over the new sets of Belinda Carlisle deluxe editions to be released end of this year LOL!!!..

Anyway, So a bit of a Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde blog posting this one...
After ogling the photos of Mr Adrian Smith a number of post before on this post -
http://deaf-angel.blogspot.sg/2014/06/mr-adrian-h-smith-in-actionmy-maiden.html

, lets change our focus to another Maiden member which is.....
.
.
release the dry ice....
,
,
.
make it foggy....
.

LOL!!!!

“”STEVE HARRIS ON THE BASS GUITAR!!!””

( Like I said before, these photos may not be nice to all of you, but YOU GUYS KNOW THAT THESE PHOTOS WERE SNAPPED WITH LOTS OF FEELINGS AND UTTER DEDICATION SO IT BECOMES PRICELESS) LOL!!!

17th June 2014, Tuesday Evening on a most beautiful location to see IRON MAIDEN play. Kalamegdan Park / Fotress Belgrade Serbia.

Its always such a joy, since this posting is only focussing on Steve Harris photos so its like – Steve Harris plays the bass like only Steve Harris can play the bass, Steve Harris running around the stage for 2 hours, Steve Harris face is so serious and really meaning it when singing backing vocals, Steve Harris face is so serious when he is eyeing the fans and looking at the fans in the eyes, (ooo no no our eyes did not met, LOL!!!!) Steve Harris with one foot on the monitors, Steve Harris’ back is against the fans and one foot on the drum riser facing Nicko, Steve Harris going to his racks and doing his tunings and adjustments in between songs, Steve Harris urging and gesturing the fans on, Steve Harris machine-gunning the fans with his bass guitar, Steve Harris placing one hand on his ears during two minutes to midnight, Steve Harris jumping on the spot and I was like "If I live to reach his age, I want to be able to do that!!", Steve Harris this, and Steve Harris that and everything Steve Harris.

and its a huge influenced on me growing up, learning to read and write English as a school boy base on Iron Maiden songs (on which Steve Harris lyrics-writting rules), that I realised that it is important to know and keep up-to-date about GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES, CREED, HISTORY, LITERATURE, WAR AND CRUELTY AND INJUSTICE IN THIS WORLD.

and I am still deciphering and understanding "Brighter Than A Thousand Suns" Albert Einstein-E=M,C,SQUARED formula-lyrics LOL!!! ok ok, Bruce Dickinson must have a big hand to that scientific lyrics? doesnt matter hahaa.
(I have been listening to the famous Stockholm Swedish Radio Broadcast recording while walking and on public transport these few days anyway)

So this post is still all in topic.

I KNOW STEVE HARRIS BREAKS INTO A HUGE SMILE WHEN DURING ‘SANCTUARY’, BRUCE DICKINSON WAS PLAYING ALONG WITH JANICK GERS GUITAR. Playing that famous melody which I really have no idea whats the title as I am typing this. Its that German folk song or something?? I am having a wild guess here LOL!!.

More is to come, a detailed photography and report of the historical thousand years Kalamegdan Fotress and the “I’ve never ever seen such an intense Museum like a SERBIAN WAR MUSEUM and it is as intense as the very important Reflection Of Bukit Chandu site in Singapore which is all about the Malay Regiment which was wiped out with vengeance by the Japanese invading Army for the way they fight at all cost till the last man, while defending Singapore during World War II.

And this is an intense post...   Au Revoir.

I was reading some facts and figures and its interesting that Puma think their new shade of RED which is more similar to the tone of the badge, will be more attractive and marketable than Nike's shade of RED.
Also the statistics of the first one month after Ozil sign, 10,000 jerseys were bought.
Its mind boggling facts and figures. Well.... I love to consume all these itsy bitsy itty gritty details of Arsenal on and off the field.

ok ok, I stop now LOL!!!

Some UPDATES 26 July 2014.

Meneruskan suasana serius, serious macam kucing kena paksa mandi, dari posting aku yang lepas yang terpanjang lak luahan bicara hati aku.
Korang pernah dengar ayat Orang Puteh cakap "Courtesy Begins At Home".
Semua. As in ALL.
Korang baca buku2 ASTERIX? Dah lupa tajuk mana, yang ada adegan seorang jeneral tentera beri arahan kat seorang askar dia.

"You are to start for Rome and bring a message for Caesar. Tell him 'All Gaul is occupied.'
He will ask 'All??'. You will answer 'All'. He will understand".

ALL ye, SEMUA!!!
Kalau kira umat yang Islam sejagat 1.8 billion tu ALL tu.

Bapak tiri dia menteri kabinet Israel.

Aku harap korang paham apa aku cakap.. Sebab tu kita tak boleh harapkan orang spoon fed kita, kita kena carik sendiri segala info tok nenek tentang segala masalah, ujian orang Islam merata dunia tengah melalui.

Rantau kita sendiri korang pun tahu apa tengah jadi kat Umat Islam.

Dan always ingat, kita terkejar kan sokong orang Islam merata tempat, kita jangan lupa kita nye own tempat. Tu aku cakap " COURTESY BEGINS AT HOME".

UPDATED - TIGA.

1) - Yayasan Rahmatan Lil Alamin taruk tabung derma kat semua masjid Singapore. Last Friday nye semayang jemaat masa khutbah aku rasa semua dah umum dah. Aku rasa tabung2 tu remain for a week kat semua masjid Singapura. Also korang boleh derma melalui Muis.
Ni ialah tabung Lil Alamin tu aku snap tu hari pasal tu hari aku semayang Jemaat kat Singapore kat salah satu masjid. Tu aku mula2 tahu pasal tabung ni, pasal time khutbah si Khatib ada buat announcement masa dia kasi khutbah dia tu. Aku suka cara penyampaian doa cakap melayu khatib tu masa sesi khutbah dan semayang jemaat tu. Aku suka dia punye 'choices of words' masa doa cakap melayu.
Pada aku, sama macam mana kita tak suka ada orang menghina agama kita, sama kita tak suka orang gunakan perkataan2 kurang ajar dan celupar kat agama dan orang2 kita, kita pun sama. Tak yah la nak berbual2 cam terror sangat kat posting2 kita. I mean kita kena pakai akal bukan nafsu amarah.

3) Mercy Relief

Yang penting all sides kena come to an amicable agreement and solution once and for all. Ye la, aku tahu susah, dah berpuluh tahun pun, tapi why not kan? Allah maha berkuasa pe.
dan jugak kat bawah ni keratan2 akhbar related to these two organisations aims and targets for this donation drive.

UPDATED PLUS THESE 3 NEWS CUTTINGS

Ooo cek it out the word " INFRASTRUCTURE" kat salah satu keratan sokkabar kat atas tu ok.  Sesuatu Baru untuk aku, selalu aku nampak word cam perubatan, makanan...
hah, sekarang terus pakai "Infrastruktur". Hah, power giler word haha.
Thats about it, walaupun mungkin fokus lebih kat Gaza, cam aku cakap atas, lets not forget predicaments yang umat Islam sedang menghadapi di seluruh dunia termasuk kita kena sokong masing2 kita nye own local masjids-masjids, madrasahs-madrasahs, muslim organisations, orphanages, old folk homes, less fortunate dan charities pasal charity dan courtesy begins at home.

p.s - Kalau dorang ada even an inch or sebutir zarah, aku rasa dorang kena gencatan senjata cepat2 dan lama2 sikit...

I mean ni benda2 itsy gritty kita kena paham consequences tembak menembak bom mengebom yang kita perlu paham..

thats about it...

Serius macam kucing kena paksa mandi ok (bak kata Bucky Katt).. Serious giler.
It is more a reminder to myself, but I just want to share it here, who knows, there will be someone who might find something useful.

Amin.
Betapa pun kita kejar dunia, cuba beri keselesaan dunia untuk mereka, akhirat jugak ultimate ye tak.

I mean seriously la kan? Tak semua orang perangai geng2 beramal atau geng baik ye tak?

Seterusnya...Khas untuk diri aku, dan jugak sapa2 tonggang langgang, huru-hara, the devil may care attitude macam aku, You Know Who You Are!!! hah....mari kita saling ingat mengingati a few things ok. Untuk korang majoriti, nak baca bacalah....tapi aku segan la, ni kira cam the blind leading the blind gitu. Tapi when you are clutching at straws.... haha.

Zakat Fitrah – hah..jangan tunggu lama2 nanti lama2...nanti orang start semayang raya, hah, naya..... so terutama korang tengok la dan cek la terutama immediate family members or whatsoever. Kalau was2 dan rasa takde time nak cek, aku rasa play safe sua la kan, biar bayar double dari tak bayar terus.

Anyway, aku pernah cerita tak? Aku was around bila ada satu fully attired mak nyah ni, ngan baju dia dia semua punya la vogue, fashionable gitu, masuk kawasan masjid nak bayar zakat fitrah waktu tengahari.
Amil layan cam biasa, dan aku perasan Amil bertugas tu tak salam dia, of course la kan, aku ni pun bodoh lak nak fikir pasal amil salam ke tak salam lak sama mak nyah..,
kira macam mana2 terdapat kaum2 perempuan yang datang untuk bayar zakat fitrah mereka kat masjid la, jumpa amil cam biasa Cuma takde salam2 je la,

tapi aku masih ingat, Amil nak nama lelaki nama original nyah tu, bila nyah tu kasi nama glamour dia untuk amil doakan, amil reject. Hahahaha, pelan2 nyah tu bisik nama original dia kat amil tu haha, siap ngan “bin” lagi...haha. Aku sebenarnye tu jam tengah lepak kat kawasan m

Aku dulu2 budak2, kalau aku join hari bendera, yang bawak tin sana sini lepas tu tunjuk tin tu kat orang lalu lalang kita mintak derma...hah...geng mak nyah la yang kasi paling banyak ok!! Especially dorang cek tu derma untuk organasasi mana, lagi lak kita semua bawak tin hari bendera untuk pertubuhan2 melayu Islam, hah, lagi bersemangat mak nyah ni derma ok!!
Walau kongajar dorang keluarkan duit dari celah2.... ohhhh sesungguhnye aku berpuasa...haha.

Hah... lagi satu...

Zakat Wang Simpanan – I mean tak dinafikan, kita semua sedaya upaya, aku cakap sedaya upaya ok, terlaksana ke tak tu lain kira cuba untuk selitkan duit sikit mana2 untuk tujuan tertentu, masa depan love ones kita especially tiba2 kita mati ke hapa ke, standby duit kecemasan, standby duit kalau kata kena buang kerja kena terminate kerja, ( HAH!! Serious kan aku berbual kali ni nye posting kan??? Aku tak memain ni....Fact of life untuk sebahagian kita, kerja di hujung tanduk, maklum pencacai je haha, aku tahu ramai korang pun cam aku, tak boleh rest on our laurels, hari ni last day kerja, besok tak boleh duk rumah sambil carik kerja baru, sambil carik kerja baru tu besok dah start carik kerja apa2 kerja daily-rated, janji abis kerja hari tu duit masuk, setiap hari abis kerja pencacai apa pun, duit masuk poket, sampai la dapat kerja tetap balik..).

So... kalau cukup nisab wang simpanan tu, aku rasa kita semua tak mau banyak colok la kan, gi bayar zakat wang simpanan sua. Insyallah, Allah tu maha mengasihi dan kalau kita dah bayar zakat, - hidup kita, hidup love ones kita, no worries, Allah akan tolong. Confirm.

Why not korang set an example, sendiri pergi calculate, korang sendiri buat ilmu hisab dan paling electric...  (yessss Pet Shop Boys is coming to KL & Spore soon!!! Hooo Starjump!! Starjump!! aku nak pergi kalau boleh. KL nye la kot aku gi, Singapore nye kat F1, leceh, walau Singapore nye F1 ada Robbie William jugak tapi leceh la F1 setlist tahun ni PSB ada bawak lagu Being Boring!! huhu)
.......korang gi la bayarkan zakat wang simpanan dorang.. I mean this is the least we can do...

Tapi korang kena sound sikit la, kata besok korang mati ke, apa2 jadi kat korang ke,.. Love Ones korang kena tahu apa nak buat, ye la kalau kata Insyallah, dorang pelan2 sikit2 tabung duit wang simpanan sampai cukup nisab setahun demi setahun.

Anyway, jangan rasa malu jangan rasa segan kalau zakat wang simpanan kita tu setakat berapa sen aje, berapa sen mata kita, mata Allah tengok lain kan berapa sen kita tu?? anyway, amil yang tukang collect tu, atau sapa2 yang korang kasi terus kat mereka yang korang boleh confirm dorang deserve antara golongan berhak dapat zakat, akan rasa happy irregardless the amount. Walau aku pernah cerita kan?......ada sekali tu amil tu tengok aku cam dia nampak setan atas kepala aku atau bertenggek atas bahu aku.. Well............

Aku pernah cerita tak? ada satu kali aku buat Reservist, aku ada kenal satu kawan jenis huru-hara tonggang terbalik nye la haha, dia cerita dia gi kenduri baca2 doa tu la ramai2 buat bulatan gitu, sekali tu dia, dia scanning the scene setiap jemaah kat situ, dia tengok la satu demi satu jemaah kat situ semua ngah baca doa or zikir or ngaji ramai2 gitu, ni memang jenis giler2 nye orang la, so dia ter eye-contact ngan satu Imam famous ni, imam tu tengah tengok dia cam rupa terperanjat, so dia speculate, imam tu ada la nampak apa2 kat dia kot, atas kepala dia kot?... hahaha. Ketawa besar aku dengar.... something I will always remember.
Tapi benda2 gini...ialah pelajaran hidup... This is life precious lesson.

Ok thats about it,.. Tapi ni zakat ni compulsory so... please take note.

.
.
.

Borak pasal bulan Puasa dah kan,

hah meh kita jawab periksa soalan nak sambut hari raya.....
READY?... sedia?
Multiple Choice ok??
PILIH SATU.
OK, ada dari korang

1) Raya disambut ngan penuh terover, kira iklan kat tv pun kalah la. Kira happening warna warni cam ROCK IN RIO gitu. Ewah!

2) Raya disambut cam iklan tv yang penuh kegembiraan... cam iklan Proton Saga Jamal Abdillah ngan Raja Ema dulu2 tu....

Siot, korang jangan ketawa oK!!! I feel for him ok!! Kalau aku kenal dia, aku ajak dia beraya ngan aku, simple2 je tapi...ok la kan raya ngan aku hahahaha!! Boleh aku tunjuk foto2 aku bersungguh2 nak snap gambo Steve Harris beraksi atas pentas hahaha.. Actually sebenarnya...... Kalau aku kenal dia, ...kalau aku kenal dia dan aku interview dia, dan Kalau kata dia cam korang - kaki lang heavy metal, aku akan hasut dia pergi BLOODSTOCK FESTIVAL !! Hahaha. Bloodstock aku dah cek, just nice lepas raya....hik hik hik. Bloodstock tiket murah ok.....best wooo line up dia, aku dah aim tau, kalau satu hari nanti dorang boleh bayar Maiden headline, hah.. I’ll be there ok, ...opppssss OK back to topik.
Dan jugak ada dari korang....

7) Raya is empty, hollow... yes, raya ni sepatutnya hari bergembira rai berjaya sebulan berpuasa, raya is special sebab tu tak boleh puasa pun kan hari raya pertama... tapi emotionally dalam hati...empty hollow kosong...

8) Dan last, Raya is penuh kesedihan. For whatever reasons, ah... ni pun ramai jugak... Tak yah bullshit la kan??? I mean... setiap kita berlainan, dan we have to accept bahagian hidup kita masing2 berbeza.
Hidup ni kita semua darah je merah sama, tapi sejuta orang, sejuta cerita ye tak? Sebillion orang? Sebillion cerita masing2 ye tak??... you get the idea.
Nanti korang tengok la kat tv, progrem2 sedih sambut raya sorang2 all that... I mean this is life la kan, dan tv tu interview orang sedih2, raya sorang2, ialah Cuma “TIP OF THE ICEBERG” aje.

9) None of the above... Hah!! Ni aku taruk ni kali..standby... Ada orang takde perasaan kot? So pilih no 9 ni. Hahaha.

I mean, aku pernah buat tau soalan MCQ gini dulu2 kat blog ni la, ada satu tu cakap masa balas kat reply tu, satu pun bukan, none of the above gitu, or something like that la. Kongajar betul!! Hahaha. Penat aku fikir tau jawapan2 ni tau. Dah la puasa, aku sanggup perah otak!!!...Last2 dia reply cakap satu pun bukan gitu. Boring sey aku!! Haha. Takpe ni kalau dia baca ni mesti ada la, 1 to 9 tu dia pilih satu...aku spekulate ni kali dia yang sambut melampau cam Rock In Rio tu agaknya hahaha.
Akhir kata....
Ingat, A MANS GOT TO DO WHAT A MANS GOT TO DO!!

p.s – aku suka iklan hari raya kereta nissan tu ATUK tu, mula2 aku tengok2 gitu....sekali tu....eh....ha ah la,
tapi aku suka, pasal Atuk enjoy life, dia in control....dia have dia nye own sweet memories, dan masa yang sama dia boleh switch back to real life. Atuk is in control... haha.

Mula2 aku tengok kat youtube... HAH??? TUJUH MINIT??? Mesti tak best, sekali tu...hah...best giler. Very realistik, nak2 main henpon tu hahaha, dan jugak chemical romance punya la emo.
Tapi aku tak berani tengok dua kali iklan raya atuk tu.......aku cam rasa takut gitu..
Eh? Bulan puasa hantu kena rantai kan?
Ok ok aku melalut, aku mintak maaf, aku tak nak cakap nenek tu hantu ok...tu Cuma sweet memories si atuk aje. Korang bayangkan cucu dia dah ambik alih kereta atuk dia, sekali masa dia tengah driving ada suara Nenek, “cu... periksa dapat nombor berapa cu?”  kat sebelah haha.

Gurau ok!! Aku mintak maaf lagi sekali, a stupid sick joke I am making, sorry.
I mean, aku realise, apa yang penting, I mean salah satu paling berharga dalam hidup kita kita boleh buat, ialah tinggalkan sweet memories... so kita dah takde nanti, orang sekeliling kita jadi cam Atuk, berangan berbual ngan kita, pasal kita “awesome”. Cewah.. masuk bakul angkat sendiri.

Tapi its a fact right? Korang nak korang mati, korang nak orang semua ada sweet memories pasal korang kan? Hahhhh......... korang tak mau korang mati orang keliling cakap "bagus, mampos jugak dekni akhirnya!!!".
Hahaha.

p.s – eh korang jangan ingat aku cam bagus ok berbual gini...zakat2 tu semua, cam aku cakap aku kongsi je. Of course korang semua tahu lebih mendalam lagi.

bye and actually aku nak cerita pasal Gaza nye situation dari pandangan aku...takpe next post...

layan satu gambo....
