Esplanade & Flyer in manual mode

(blog kali ni is post syok sendiri, aku berangan jadi Ross Halfin. Walaupun tak lawa, tapi yang penting wa snap with passion siol.)
Pakai panasonic fz30 berkarat aku beli secondhand nak tiga tahun dah tahun ni kot, guna manual mode dan apa2 mode kecuali auto. Walaupun banyak prosumer canggih skarang, pada aku Fz30 black still paling lawa dan best walaupun aku nye dah tak bleh off, kena keluarkan batteri. Pathetic siak.

Gambar warm up godey2 manual. Apsal ramai orang mesti nak kena buat ni shoot eh. Shot wajib gitu. Aku nengok multiply orang, blog orang, smua ada ni pattern, tapi some pandai buat nightshoot siak, wa jeles.

my favourite photo masa godey2 manual mode, ntah apa aku dah godey aperture ngan speed dapat ni. Aku masih bingung tu white balance all that. Aku godey terus jadi putih lak masa snap. Siot.

Gelap. Ngah mendung, tapi what have I godey2 until like this. Wa pu ce tao. Wa nak kena return try lagik hehe.
korang, ni angle always ingatkan aku sikat rambut center parting muahahaha. Kat blakang tu Flyer. Mahal ah. Aku nak naik tau satu hari nanti. Malam. mesti lawa.

macam sisik ular lak dah pada aku. Or cam buah apa tu? ntah dah lupa lak nama. Tapi orang banyak refer ni cam durian eh. Mungkin dari jauh le.

Aku suka gambo ni ( wakakaka, ye la, terang2 aku yang snap kan ), pasal susah giler aku nak avoid glare dia nanti kalo direct matahari nanti ada cam glare gitu kan tompok2 gitu ).

last kopek.
lain kali sambung k

terjumpa boxset Ramli Sarip

aku gi kedai jual piring hitam/cd secondhand / orang dah buang nye.
Yahoo!!!

Siot apek terus cakap " wah, lamli salip, this one very lare. Also got autograph ".
" rare la apek, but autograph not my name what " . Siot je apek.

Serious bebual, aku baru je semalam post blog pasal Independent Record Stores, kedai2kecik2 dan buruk jual cd, kaset, piring hitam dah berhabuk atau orang dah tak mau nak buang, yang kita kena pandai bongkar sendiri last2 jumpa ni.

Aku dah menyumpah, kedai apek ni, dia memang jual lagu2 cina 50an, 60an, 70an ngan lagu english 60an, 50an dulu, tapi actually dia ada ACDC, Deep Purple ngan Rainbow, siot ah berlambak, tapi Maiden takde. Siap bleh aku jumpa Megadeth sweating bullet blue vinyl yang opposite direction tu tersepit antara piring hitam lagu2 50an cina gitu. Tak bleh accept apek weak tak tahu susun catalog barang. Aku siap cakap kat dia, " uncle next time i come, i help you arrange la ", " ya ya thank you. " Tak bleh accept ACDC Fly To The Wall kat piring hitam Earth Wind & Fire. Giler ke hapa.

Anyway, Ni very rare boxset Ramli Sarip Ziarah Seni 4cd ( ada bentuk 4 kaset jugak masa dulu tu tapi very rare and expensive then untuk aku la ) awal tahun 90an dulu.
Booklet dia masih garing.
CD dia empat2 aku nengok cam tak pernah test dengar pun. Masih bau kedai.
So...its a good find walaupun aku sebenarnye ngan carik Maiden.

nanti aku tulis ulasan review n photoshot k. Aku memang suka snap2 gambar cd n piring hitam ni, Tak tahu kot kat internet ada sapa2 pernah review this thing in detail.

two books

- Siege Of Mecca yang Masjidil Haram kena serang dulu tu dah keluar few months back, tapi mahal la, so aku tunggu Library nye, last2 Library launch ni buku. Aku terus online booking, tadi gi collect.
( korang, lots of super nice books kat library ada, tapi korang kena pandai main taktic, senang pakai online catalogue, korang book, kalo dah ada, korang bleh ambik kat mana2 library yang korang nak berdekatan korang, 50 sen je servis charge. )
- lagi satu buku photography Ross Halfin dah keluar 2006, aku KIV setahun lebih , last2 baru tangkap pasal lama2 KIV pun tak bagus jugak hehehe.

The Siege Of Mecca- The Forgotten Uprising by Yaroslav Trofimov
Kalo korang perasan, aku memang very curious about apa sebenarnye jadi kat Mekkah masa awal muharram 1400 dulu. Orang smua sibuk 911 la, Al Qaeda la, macam2 teori, tapi ntah eh, apa jadi kat Mekah tu is the beginning kot.
First one dulu aku baca pasal tulisan tentang Al Qaeda tapi ada cerita pasal ni aku ada review kat sini.

Nanti aku baca aku taruk sini k.

Jurugambar Ross Halfin, dekni attitude problem siak. Tapi dia talented so ok la kan bleh perangai macam siot.
Ni photo book dia pasal sejarah dia cover Iron Maiden dari tahun 1979 sampai 2004 ( Dance of Death Tour ) tak salah aku. Siot!! Ross Halfin, dont bite the hands that feed you, but nevertheless, you are the reason why I like to take photos. Please snap Maiden again ok.

After I go thru this two books, I will review it properly ok.

record store day

Sekarang dah takde, skarang smua internet je budak2 skarang tahu.
Dulu kaset 2 inggit untuk kaset ciplak paling murah.
Kalo beli kaset made in Indon ( rockshot ), harga 5 inggit.

So untuk kedai2 kat Spore, kat JB, kat KL, yang kedai2 independent, kedai2 apek ( tak lupa kedai Apek kat Queensway ), kedai2 nyonya, kedai2 uncle, kedai2 auntie ( tak lupa kat ... hehehee ), kedai2 pakcik2 kat pasar geylang serai lama, kat geylang bahru kedai apek gemuk, kedai2 kaset kat Komtar especially kedai makcik tu ada poster Fear Of The Dark besar giler, dan semua la yang dah takde dah, dan semua kedai2 zaman dulu, Dada Records yang play a big part tolong aku build up Maiden collection sikit2 zaman sekolah dulu, kalo melayu lets not forget Muzika ( especially Queensway branch ngan JB branch kotaraya yang dah tutup ),tak lupa Roxy jugak yang masih surviving, walaupun kena pindah dari Funan gi Excelsior pasal mungkin sewa kedai mahal sangat, dan semua kedai2 kaset, cd, vinyl sendirian berhad baik yang best atau yang tak best bila kita masuk kedai dorang ikut kita macam kita nak mencurik hohoho.

Happy Record Store Day.

HMV best ler, online shopping pun best ler, tapi gi kedai2 lama masih ada thrill dia bila jumpa something special untuk kita.

DREAM THEATER Drummer MIKE PORTNOY Comments On Record Store Day - "Let's Hear It For Independent Record Store Owners; Without Them, A Lot Of Us May Not Have Existed"

munetaka higuchi - liver cancer

tadi aku sms kawan aku bilang dia, baru je announce, Munetaka Higuchi kena kanser limpa ( liver Cancer ) dan ngah kat spital treatment. Kawan aku ni hardcore fan & collector Loudness, with the capital letters H , F & C.
" Alamak! " reply sms dia. Ni la dunia eh.

Some of famous drummers non-melayu ( aku rasa tak yah ceta pasal melayu la k, nanti salah cerita susah ) aku enjoy muzik dorang tapi ngah sakit or dah takde for whatever reasons..

Clive Burr ( Iron Maiden ) - Multiple sclerosis

Drummer untuk the first three Maiden albums, sekarang kat kerusi roda, heartbreaking siak. Multiple Sclerosis ni makin hari makin hilang kawalan pergerakan. Makin lemah tak bermaya. Millions peminat nak dia sembuh, sapa yang beli cd single reissue Run To The Hills, tu semua untuk Clive Burr nye dana ler. Maiden kumpul duit untuk dia, renovate rumah kasi dia lagi senang, tapi tu la, penyakit tu manusia bleh usaha ubatkan tapi at end of the day..

Ingo Schwichtenberg - Helloween

Sapa bleh lupa kan album Chameleon nye sampul belakang tulis " In good and bad times, you know who your true friends are " or something like that la.
Dekni, tak mau ikut ah. OK la, dia ada mental problem, tapi makin abuse alcohol n drugs last2 terjun depan keretapi.

Eric Carr - Kiss

Apsal eh aku suka dia? apsal aku suka giler kat mamat ni? Pasal dia hensem kot? hahaha.
Mungkin pasal lagu Forever, dan video clip best giler dia ( cek out you tube ).
Sakit Cancer jugak, dan mati on the same day as Freddie Mercury Queen.

Cozy Powell - Rainbow

Antara first music aku was expose masa kecik2, besides kat radio Al Jawaher, Carefree, Black Dog Bone, Flybaits ( heheheh ) was Rainbow. And sampai skarang lagu2 Rainbow masih jadi soundtrack kat kepala hotak aku.
Mati eksiden kat hiway, siap ngah borak kat handphone lagik masa driving. So...there will be no lineup Rainbow Rising reunion ah.

John Bonham - led zeppelin

Richard Cole eh ke sapa ntah yang tour manager dorang? aku baca dia punye biography, ceta pasal si John Bonham ni. D A H S Y A T mamat ni.
Mati pasal drinking binge, then pass out, so dorang bawak dia baring atas katil, tapi takde orang cek kat dia. Biarkan dia tido sorang. So masa dia tido, dia tercekik muntah dia sendiri. So moral of the story, .........( fill in the blanks sendiri ), so jangan degil.

Ulasan - Run For Cover, The Art of Derek Riggs ( part ii )

19/10/2014 UPDATE-
PHOTOS ARE HERE -
http://www.deaf-angel.blogspot.sg/2014/09/six-years-later-blog-text-is-still.html

The text remains on this post..

Continuation of my review and photoshoot of one of the best books ever and its personalised too.
The ( part i ) is here http://deaf-angel.blogspot.com/2008/03/ulasan-buku-run-for-cover-art-of-derek.html
Anyway, all hardcovers are now Sold Out as of now at www.derekriggs.com

The sketches for one of the most complicated album artworks of all time. I really hope to go thru the SIT vinyl artwork bit by bit and try to identify myself all the small wonderful things and messages hidden everywhere. I hope to do it very soon.

Cyborg Eddie sketches for the SIT era

Stranger In A Strange Land single artwork. This is another one which I love so much. It is like that Star Wars A New Hope bar scene where Han Solo meet up with Luke and Eddie is like that cool Clint Eastwood of the Western Spagetti Movies, one of them is also another of my favourite movie, The Good Bad And Ugly.
I was seriously considering asking Mr Derek Riggs to draw me a SIASL Eddie, but I go for the Trooper Eddie instead as it is always the sentimental favourite.

My desktop wallpaper hehehe

the clansman artwork from a very difficult era for Maiden fans, musically.
I especially like that Eddie destroying the whatever building it is call, because on this book, the artwork is blown up, and you can see little details clearly, bodies flying down, and of course the concorde.

What if Derek's Fear Of The Dark was choosen instead for the album cover?
What if its the Eddie lurking at the bed edge, instead of coming out of a tree?

trust me, this book is awesome. Its for all Maiden fans everywhere.

Gamma Ray artworks are discussed in detail too. Its nice reading about Kai Hansen and his ideas and plans for Gamma Ray.
Another good one is when Derek talks about Bruce Dickinson Accident Of Birth period where Bruce wants a kind of Eddie for both the AOB album and singles.

Besides Somewhere In Time, the other artwork I want to go thru each tiny details and intepret them myself as a Maiden fan, would be the Powerslave album artworks. One of the most beautiful ever too.

Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter the one for the CD single is sweet too. I really like the Sesame Street Oscar the Grouch, coming out from his dustbin.

Enlarge this one and read an opinion of another Maiden artist on Derek Riggs. I think this is the guy who did AMOLAD cover? I am not sure.

This is another of Derek's artwork. This book has tons of them. Its crazy and for the price, especially getting the personalised one. Derek drawing you an Eddie, getting additional gifts, like I had shown on my part 1 review. Its heaven.

So, even though all the hardcover versions of both 'signed and numbered' and the " personalised " versions are currently all sold out, there are still the softcover ones of both 'sign and numbered " and also the normal ones.
So try to grab this book if its possible. And I didnt know that the HBTN live artwork Eddie which is frying Bruce looks so similar to Nicko till I read this book, and we know how much Nicko was unhappy with Bruce at that period

Up The Irons and wishing Derek Riggs ( and Kim ) good health and he recover from his sickness soon.
