Outrage - Awakening 2008 ( serial no. boxset )

This is my short review and photospread of the Japanese band OUTRAGE limited edition boxset called Awakening 2008. It is a live double cd, and mine is numbered 2957 out of 3000 copies.

Besides X Japan, and of course Loudness, Outrage is another Japan band that I enjoy. In the early 90s, their songs were a staple in my walkman. I lost track of them after that. Unable to understand Japanese, it is hard to find infos on them, but when news of the original singer rejoining the band, and the announcement of this live boxset kind of rekindles the memories of the old times.
I wonder how will the whole The Final Day album sounds like live about 17 years later?



The interesting thing about this release is that it features Outrage performing live every song from the two studio albums they released in the early 90s: The Final Day from 1991 & Life Until DEAF from 1995.



The Final Day full album was played at Shibuya Boxx in Tokyo on 8 March 2008. The above photo shows the full setlist of that night.
So cd1 of Awakening 2008 features - 1. MY FINAL DAY, 2. MADNESS, 3. FOLLOW, 4. WINGS, 5. SAD SURVIVOR, 6. VISIONS, 7. VEILED SKY, 8. RIVER, 9. FANGS

I forgot how very beautiful Veiled Sky is, and I think River is a song that makes me like Japanese bands like X-Japan so much. They can play fast songs, some metal songs, but at the next moment they can play something so slow & emotional song. And nope, River is not a love ballad huhuhu.



The whole of Life Until DEAF album was played also at Shibuya Boxx but on 15 March 2008. Check out the above photo for the full setlist of that night.

What will the ticket prices be like if there is a kind of Japanese festival here, with X-Japan headling ( of course most definitely and they play those 3hr shows which must include Silent Jealousy please ), and we have Loudness, Outrage and the rest huhuhu. Tu hari aku nengok iklan Sting nak perform classical kat Esplanade tiket dah $600. Giler siot.



There seems to be a 3rd nite at Shibuya Boxx on 18 March 2008. I cannot find anymore info on this night. You can see this above photo for the setlist.

dont know yet.. till then, korek balik dari lubang cacing, some tribute to maiden cds yang aku kumpul many years ago dan dengar balik huhuhu.



nanti senang bleh borak lebih sikit.
Fans kat Britain rata2 kasi different opinions on maiden heaven..

dearest gomen mesia, ku sangka tak yah pakai white kad lagi sampai ke petang, rupanye kena pakai balik di tengah hari..

Aku dah la gi buang semua koleksi white kad aku, pasal aku dah konfiden dah tak yah isi kad tu lagi, maklum dah lama jugak kan..sekarang, aku nak start kumpul balik..sikit2 lama2 jadi tebal cam phone directory huahuahua.

nak kena beli pen ler standby taruk beg dua tiga, takde pen, hah, sesi kelam kabut wooo kat kastam kalo lupa isi in advance.

Apa probability aku menang 1st prize? tapi sapa tau kan...anyway cerita dia gini..

3hb 8 ni aku keja pagi, rasa2nye mlm tu ada masa sikit kot untuk aku enjoy salah satu hobi aku huhu. ( siang2 aku dah submit advance notis kat Minister of Home Affairs aku kuikuikui. )
Tapi..hobi aku ni perlukan ko$, dan dalam keadaan barang harga $mua naik, inflasi meningkat ni semua, nak buat2 apa2 pun kena fikir 3, 4 kali.

So 3 Ogos 2008 kalo aku free malam, ada dua event ada chance untuk aku pegi -

a) Kat Singapore,
Republic Poly di Woodlands, ada Search , Amuk , Raven.
Tiket $80-$200. Tukar RM ngan excen rate 2.37 dah - 189.60rm to 474rm. ni apa last aku cek ngan muzika ler harga tiket.

b) kat Johor Bahru,
Man Kidal nye pelancaran album dan dia nye show. Tiket 12rm.
Ni kat Dataran Bandaraya ( ntah exact spot kat mana, tapi aku assume dekat ngan City Sq ler , Aku konsert kat JB up to Indoor Stadium aku sanggup jalan kaki dari kastam, lain2 tak larat ah, kalo Larkin Stadium, aku dah terpikir kalo midnite abis cammana ah, nak2 sorang2 takde kawan. )


Dua2 pun hanya dipisahkan ngan tambak johor aje..lain2 gomen, tapi rock maintain.

So? Search/Amuk/Raven vs Man Kidal? mana aku nak pilih?
Ra$a ra$anye korang pun tahu ler huhuhuhu...

Ni plan2 je, ntah pegi ntah tidak, kot ada hal lain lagi priority...apa pun aku ada tiket Man Kidal dah standby dah.. kiasuism beb.



"Atuk mana ni??" Boleh aku kena tanya soalan gitu?? Grrrrrr!!!


p.s - 2nd n 3rd August pun ada apa festival ntah kat Fort Canning. Pussycat Dolls huhuhu, ( donchawishurgelfrenwashotlikeme ewah! ), alicia keys, simple plans, ntah sapa2 ntah...tapi last year was better, last ada Cyndi Lauper...oooo.. seriously, aku nak nengok Cyndi Lauper ngan Belinda Carlisle live, everytime aku miss ler ).

aku nengok Soleha, lama tak nengok, laa...Soleha kena Multiple Sclerosis. Ni ler penyakit ex-drummer Maiden, Clive Burr tengah hadapi sekarang. Tapi si Soleha tu bedek2 je director suruh dia pengsan dalam van, Clive Burr real nye.

aku baru perasan, ex-singer Maiden, Blaze Bailey nye isteri "is in critical condition in hospital following a dual brain hemorrhage last week and has not regained consciousness".

In a May 2008 interview Bayley stated, "I had a lot of problems with alcohol, severe depression, almost had a breakdown at the end of [the] 'Tenth Dimension' [album cycle], fucked about by the record company, totally broke, I'd spent all my money of trying to keep the band together. I was absolutely fucked. I was just about keeping going, and then I met my wife. And she known me... We've known each other for 18 years. 20 years. We were apart for years, because I follow this passion for music, and Debbie was following her passion, she was a dancer, and then she got her own hair business, and then we met again, when I was at my lowest. My wife found me, and really made me believe again, that it wasn't all my fault, it wasn't the fact that people didn't like what I was doing, it was the fact that they didn't actually know that I was doing anything at all. So that was a big difference. So that's it. She supported it, then I had incredible support from my family, my friends, and the fans who stuck by me was just incredible. With that kind of support, and with my wife behind me, helping me sort myself out, [I got] through my drinking problems, depression and all of that."

The window to the world suddenly seems wider. Maybe just maybe, you can squeeze thru it and you wont even need a door.

So who knows, maybe satu hari nanti insyallah, aku dapat bawak love ones aku gi nengok negri omputeh.( tu hari nye Maiden Perth trip cuma ngan my better half aje, huhu ). Kalo ada opportunity next time harga flight gini lagik.





Backpack pun ok pe, and instant noodles pun alrighty pe bermacam rasa ( maggi pun dah ada perasa sup tulang eh latest jugak huhu tapi wa blum try ), bukan nak gi makan atau nak tido ye tak. Aku nak see the world bukan nak eat or sleep the world.

Aku fetish pegi Museum, aku tak tahu apsal, tapi aku envy orang keja kat museum. Apa cert kena ada eh? huhu. Nak kena nengok umur tak? Biasa ah sekarang, dah tua sikit je, memang payah masa gi interview. Orang tua lagi keja sungguh2 pasal dorang grateful diberi peluang, tapi apa pun kalo dah rezeki dapat ler. Opss terofftopik lak. Ter potpet potpet kejap huhu. Anyway, Muzium kat Perth, heaven sey.



And maybe just maybe....plan the itenerary to time it together with some thingys that I enjoy.. ( oppsss!!! ) hahaa. I know its going to be very difficult, tapi hallo, it took me 25 years to align all the planets to see Iron Maiden with my better half ok, and I never thought I would $tep on a negeri omputeh, its $omething previously aku cuma dengar kawan2 aku dah pergi dorang borak2 or nengok kat magazine or tv, but we did it. $o can you ok!

Dulu aku selalu fikir, kalo aku ada rezeki naik kapalterbang nanti pun, its pasal nanti nak gi haji.
At the end of the day betapa best pun tempat lain, thats going to be the most important destination in our lives, insyallah.

this is one of the personal fan audio live recording of the historic Maiden Twickenham 2008.

A good recording too. Check out Revelations nye start. "Everybody down in the middle here take two steps back, somebody's down in the front.". Bruce ni very comfortable ler control crowd.
