Sadaqa - Ramli Sarip - Masjid Hasanah funds & Singapore only release.
( Actually kan, berapa tahun lepas masa aku pergi Reservist, jumpa satu kawan dan dia dah cakap pasal Ramli Sarip wants to release a cd for a mosque fundraising benefit, akhirnya cd ni keluar tapi untuk Masjid Hasanah, bukan untuk lagi satu masjid kawan aku cerita. Apa pun, lets doa semua projek2 fundraising for all masjid2 & madrasah2 & mana2 pertubuhan Islam for whatever reasons dorang collect funds dari public akan berjaya, dan hit their targets on time, dan kalo boleh ada extra lagik untuk masa depan. Amin. )
Anyway ni cd Ramli Sarip buat ( lagu baru, lagu susah nak carik dalam cd, plus lagu lama ) untuk kumpul dana Masjid Hasanah Singapore, dan cd ni khas untuk pasaran Singapura, tapi aku tak bedek, korang kat Malaysia try to look for this cd too. Anyway, harga dia $30. Aku rasa 30 ketul untuk tolong masjid Hasanah and get this superb songs is worth it la.
CD ni ada beberapa lagu yang pada aku entah aku tak tahu mana nak dapat dalam bentuk cd, so ni memang best la semua ada dalam cd ni.
As aku tak follow up sangat on his official releases , tapi Anugerah Nabi is first time on official CD kan dan dia tak pernah main?
liriks such as - " dan peristiwa teka teki bagi Quraish anugerah abadi bagi Nabi".
and of course aku tak pernah ada satu lagu ni dalam bentuk official cd so its wonderful
the superduper song Kekasihku in all its electric current glory.
Liriks by Pyan Habib - hidup ini benar, ada senja ada fajar. Super song.
And of course you have Iqra - gementar mengigil roh yang kudus, di puncak sendirian jiwa resah. Yang liriks very agama, tapi muzik reminds me of masa Jimmy Page/Robert Plant reunion first time keluarkan No Quarters tu.
Plus lagu2 lain, bahasa terindah, tangan tangan amal, ku cari damai abadi, ziarah, negeri hakiki, andai aku tahu , kau yang satu.
Some of his best works tapi memang susah nak carik la. Lagu wayang and all that.
Plus of course a few lagu2 lama, bukan kerana nama dan perjalanan hidup dan of course Sweet Charity Haji.
M1! M1! M1! M1! M! .....
So like I say, its a bloody good collection all in one place. Sorry, it should be a very superb collection of his spiritual and religious theme songs all in one place haha.
Dalam banyak2 artis melayu, Ramli Sarip has one of the best releases for collections la, dari zaman 4cd Boxset tu, ke that duet album release last year, dan yang ni latest Sadaqa ni. Belum campur sweet charity nye buku 40 years tu lagik.
I think his Sadaqa live show is going to be awesome, and it will be more awesome if I can be there, but...oh no kerja malam pulak....fikiran...
last bus, Ni kalo korang belum baca, review sokkabar Today untuk Sadaqa ni. Biar betik kan dia punye review gini macam punye menarik -
If there's still any argument left about whether music is a universal language, this album will definitely support the proposition. Veteran Malay singer Ramli Sarip may have honed his musical instincts and made a name for himself performing rock songs, but these days, the man they call Papa Rock has eschewed the distortion guitars and heavy backbeat for something more spiritual. Namely, this new album called Sadaqa (which loosely means "charity" and "a gift"). It's a collection of 14 spiritual songs, and fans have already started calling it his finest work in his four-decade long career. It compiles songs previously recorded, such as Iqra, Perjalanan Hidup and Bukan Kerana Name, as well as newer tracks. While the content of the songs carry messages of peace and love, what is more captivating is the performance by Ramli. I don't know whether it's because this is an album of spiritual music, but there's always something about the genre that evokes a more soulful experience, reminding me of the early works by Amy Grant, Scott Wesley Brown, or even Ravi Shankar's Three Ragas. It's evident to the listener that Ramli really digs deep for this one - whether or not you understand the language. His distinct vocals take on a new timbre and edge, and there's raw emotion in every song. Ramli has always said that he likes to give back to the community and with this album, perhaps he has. The album is available at Muzika Records at Joo Chiat Complex. CHRISTOPHER TOH
